Optimal Optimus Primal wrote: "You got it!" the demolition expert acknowledged. Putting his weapon away, he walked over to Blackarachnia and the pod, pulling out one of his demo charges and setting it for 30 seconds.

"Wanna hand over dat transwarp cell for a second, Legs?" the rat asked her more politely than he cared to. "So I can rig this up before you install it on the pod?"

"Hmph, the rat, oh how I'd love to weld his mouth shut once and for all...But, business before pleasure" Tarantulas thought as he forced his will upon Blackarachnia like a tidal wave, swift and merciless, making sure she wasn't looking at Rattrap at the time in case his possession gave any outward signs.

He tried to seize control as quickly as possible, before Blackarachnia had time to react or realize what was happening, thus giving her no time to struggle, and thus hopefully not give away that she had more than cobwebs and schemes lurking in her head. This was his first time assuming direct command over his "host," so he couldn't be certain how it would go, but he was confident he could control her covertly enough, and at any rate, he had no choice but to act now if he hoped to enact his plans for Optimus.

As soon as he felt himself in control, he handed over the transwarp cell to Rattrap, resisting the urge to snip his digits off with his...Blackarachnia's pincers. It was strange being in control of a female's body, especially hers, but it helped that their designs were similar due to their spider modes, so at least he was in, relatively, familiar territory. He kept his back turned to the rat, wordlessly returning to work on the pod, pleased that BA's pincers possessed most of the same tools as his own, at least enough to get the job done. He couldn't do anything too obvious to sabotage the pod or the maximals would catch on, and Optimus needed to live long enough to destroy the alien weapon, best to go with the subtle approach...By programming the ship's controls to permanently lock the instant Primal tried to eject the hatch and escape, forcing the self-less hero to sacrifice himself against his will.

"I only regret I won't be able to see the look on his face when he realizes his fate has been sealed, literally, BWAHAHAHAHAHHA!" Tarantulas laughed inwardly as he programmed the pod to do as he desired.

Blackrosefencer wrote: She sighed in exasperation. She lowered her voice, but responded calmly. "If you think I didn't realize that I would never make it into that pod, you are severely mistaken. I helped the spiders because of the deal I made with Tarantulas. In exchange for what he did to me to fix me, I agreed to help him get off of this planet. I knew the chances of going with him were slim."

"Hmm, Arachnitron was smarter than I thought" Tarantulas thought offhandedly as he finished his work reprogramming the pod's controls, "She may still prove useful to me yet, especially if I am to continue living on this rock a while longer."

He then released Blackarachnia of his control, slinking back to the shadows of her mind to watch events unfold silent and unnoticed.

"This is going to be good, Hehehehehehe!" the cyber specter snickered to himself.

((OOC: I will be able to post tomorrow. :D Also, Darkspark, sorry for not answering your PM. But since you have already post, I will tweak my work in progress post (have lots to input XD) to fit that in. :D

Edit: Here it is. Finally. XD ))

"No!," Aurora blurted out spontaneously as she grabbed a hold of Whitegrazer's arm to prevent her from going anywhere. "The risk is too high that this will be a one way trip! We can probably remote access the pod and control it from here."
"No!" Tigatron intervened. "Let me! I owe this world," he pleaded.
"I'm grateful," and he truly was for the crew he had, "and I know how dangerous this is, but only a flier has a chance to get clear of the blast."
"That's why I'M the one to go!" "I'm the best flier here!"
It warmed Whitegrazer's spark at how despite it all, everyone was so willing to go in place of Optimus. It showed that they weren't just bodies fighting a war. They were friends...family. No matter what happens now or in the future, they all were tied to each other..

"My spark can fly." Whitegrazer said innocently with a big smile. Then she realized no one knew she could do that. Of course, even if she did, since she was alive, she will have to rely on the eject button...and sparks don't have fingers.
"If it saves this planet, it'll be worth it!" Primal argued with the black widow. "If not... I'm the worse off," he said, lowering his head for a moment. "Either way, it's the only chance any of us have right now!"
Well...since she had no choice.
"You got it!" the demolition expert acknowledged.
Blackarachnia felt that twitch through her spine. Grrr...Tarantulas.

There was no snide comment from her. She hated this, but for her own survival despite an intruder inside her own being, she didn't resist ans cooperated. Placing the green visor pick on, connecting into a connector plug right next to the control panel. Reprogramming the pod will take some time...and they didn't have time. Bits of data and numbers overwhelmed her visor and she placed them all together like a puzzle. Skimming through it swiftly yet carefully.

Whitegrazer was glad to see Blackarachnia finally cooperate. Though, she did sense something wrong with Blackarachnia. Seeing Optimus smile at her, she returned it. She knew despite what everyone and the Predacons in the room thought, Optimus wasn't going to try get himself killed: he wanted to save his team and return to tell about it.
I'm sure we can find a way to fit them all inside if they really want to go,"
Blackarachina smirked at Arachnitron's comment, agreeing with her very sentiment at these disgustingly heroic Maximals. Aurora was arguing against Arachnitron, and Blackarachnia twitched her mouth at the mouthy brat.

I hate kids.

Whitegrazer could see Aurora was having enough of Arachnitron's words. She kept the little one tightly close to her.

She glanced at Arachnitron softly, "We were just as confused as you were, Arachnitron, and didn't want to do anything that would bring you even more suffering than you already were experiencing nor did we want to take advantage of you."

She let Aurora go when she went towards Optimus to hug him.

Arachnitron offering herself to go up in that weapon made her optics widen. Not out of surprise or shock, but out of the fact of her current status and fear of her Predacon personality giving her a fate worse than death. Her reveal has proven that her solution she got wasn't forever and what if the Predacon side tried to put her in danger. If she is that afraid, they should do something to help her.

Not having her kill herself, but she seems to have lost faith in them to help her. If she were to ask, would she just deny such because of her distrust towards them?

"We can't allow you to take such a risk, Arachnitron. You can't give up on yourself like this. "

Blackarachnia made a groan of disgust; between the annoying kid and the Maximal horse's words, Blackarachnia was ready to overload her tank at such slop, especially if Optimus said anything.

(( OOC: Thanks for the posts, guys! So good to see more players again. I have missed all of the writing. Hopefully more will return soon. Me thinks RL has kidnapped Blazemane again. Or Michael Myers...

I wasn't aware of that, Blackrosefencer. Thank you for sharing. ))

Taking the powerful transwarp cell from Blackarachnia, Rattrap pulled out some tools and started wiring his explosive to the cell. He ignored most of the conversations taking place in the room because this was a project he couldn't afford to faulter on or screw up. If anything went wrong, then they were either going to lose their commanding officer or the planet was still going to be destroyed. This required his undivided attention at the moment.
"That's why I'M the one to go!" "I'm the best flier here!"
Tigatron was close to objecting to Airazor's notion, but she had just as much right as he did to volunteer to take their leader's place in this dangerous mission. How selfless of her. He gave her a warm smile, understanding and appreciating who she was. He couldn't imagine a life without her, and thought it was unfair that he wasn't a flier which lead to the only reason as to why he couldn't go instead. Kind and beautiful Airazor. His spark pulsed for her. His spirit surrounded her.

Optimus couldn't argue with the second part of Airazor's plea, and he gave a small smile at the female falcon appreciating her offer, but he still wasn't going to let anyone take his place. Not this time. He wasn't surprised that Rattrap hadn't volunteered like everyone else, so when the demolition expert put his tools down, he asked him, "What about you, Rattrap?"

After examining his finished work of art, he glanced over at the others before landing his optics on the gorilla. "Hey, suicide ain't in my job description, ya know what I'm sayin'?" the rodent said casually.

"Nor mine," Primal added.
"Perhaps I have as well. This wasn't the safe haven the Maximal programming promised me. I guess Maximals lie and mislead just like Predacons,"
Was Arachnitron still speaking? It would seem Optimus's way to quiet everyone down earlier had been too polite despite him having to bellow it out. There was a lot he wanted to say to her until he realized that her observation was not too inaccurate. There were things... secrets about himself that could be considered misleading to his Maximals. Projects he took part in back on Cybertron that he regretted. And one of those secrets was falling from orbit right now, expect to crash on the planet they were all stranded on. What if he...

If these might be his final moments on this planet with his incredibly selfless and compassionate crew, this was not how Optimus wanted to spend them; with everyone bickering and filling his audio sensors with cruel words and snide remarks back and forth. It was then when he saw Aurora hurry her way over to him and pause to look up into his brown eyes before she suddenly gave him a hug. It was exactly what he needed. With her arms trying to wrap around his larger, gorilla body frame, he knelt down on one knee for her and embraced the young Fuzor warmly. Strong enough to pick up Megatron himself, the Maximal leader used a different kind of strength toward his crew, his family, so his hug was as gentle as Aurora's despite his thick arms and how tightly she clung to him. Aurora's embrace empowered him with love and the ability to do what had to be done. Eventually he held her a little closer, a little tighter, lightly rubbing the back of her shoulder with one of his hands, because she was so important to him, and he cared about her as if she was his own daughter, much like the relationship he had with Cheetor. Optimus didn't know if that was something to be said to her, especially after having lost Icebreaker so recently since he knew how much of a father he was to Aurora, so he kept the thought to himself. It was a decision he might soon regret. Instead, he whispered to her with a soft smile and a light tone to suggest a tease, "Take care of Rattrap until I return. He needs looking after." But, of course, all good things must come to an end. As much as he hated their embrace to part, Aurora made the first movement when she could no longer hold her tongue against Arachniton's words. Who could blame her? Primal stood back up and watched their debate.
"Funny how all of a sudden you understand the true dilemma here even though it took silencing the Maximal I have inside of me to make you see it. I wonder if it were me and the Predacon who were silenced, if you would have come to the same realization or rejoiced in the specimen that would have been left behind," "I don't know what the right answer is, but if I brought them both back, the pain would be excruciating. How can someone who claims to have been my friend wish that upon me?" "I'm sure we can find a way to fit them all inside if they really want to go,"
"Interesting choice of words.. coming from you." "You are truly selfish, aren’t you, believing that you are the only one who has ever experienced pain." "Yes, your situation is unique but dwelling on self-pity and despair will not solve anything. Can you stop thinking about only yourself long enough to realize that if we don’t stop that weapon out there, we will all be destroyed? Which includes you as well."
Hearing Aurora's voice start to waver and choke, Optimus gently placed his hand on her shoulder to console her and calm her.
"If you think I didn't realize that I would never make it into that pod, you are severely mistaken. I helped the spiders because of the deal I made with Tarantulas. In exchange for what he did to me to fix me, I agreed to help him get off of this planet. I knew the chances of going with him were slim." "Perhaps I ought to be destroyed. That is what the Predacon scientists would have done to me anyway. It is the only cure for what I have. It would make no difference to anyone here if I died anyway." "Which is why I should go instead of you. I'm not a Maximal so I'm not offering to save anyone. And I'm not a Predacon so I won't betray you by taking the pod without blowing up the weapon. I'm dead whether this planet is saved or not. Either one of you shoots me or the Predacon programming will kill me when she returns. My future is grim no matter which way you look at it. So I should go instead and if I die then at least it will be less painful than anything the Predacon programming will do to me."
Really? Primal hoped Arachnitron was joking. It was a joke, right? He remained quiet even as the arachnid's gaze fell on him, folding his arms across his chest.
"We can't allow you to take such a risk, Arachnitron. You can't give up on yourself like this."
Shaking his head at the entire conversation in general, Optimus finally said, "The whole idea for this plan was based on no one losing their life. We've had enough death in this war as it is. And despite what you may think, Arachnitron, even losing you would make a big difference to some of us present. I won't allow anyone to take my place in this solo mission. I can't. You can still be helped if you chose to and if there is a way to do so. We may have limited equipment on this planet, but there are some brilliant minds and scientists here whose intentions aren't for their own games or experiments," he mentioned, implying Tarantulas's manipulative and selfish behavior. Primal didn't know if the tarantula's reprogramming on her personalities or functioning was permanent, and if it wasn't, where would she go then? Back to Tarantulas? Had she thought of him using her as his own experiment? So then who would help her if not Tarantulas? Part of him still wanted to offer her their assistance, but another part found it difficult to trust her or spend their time and effort all over again on her delicate situation. In any case, there was no time for this. At least, not for Optimus. Time was slipping away. "And let's face it, Arachnitron, after the stunt you decided to pull, I can't trust your word to accomplish this. There's too much at stake." Granted, that was the simple excuse to use to keep her out of the pod.
"Optimus," "Do we really have no other option?"
Orcariner had been so quiet in the corner of the room, practically secluding himself from the whole group, that his voice seemed to suddenly silence everyone. Looking up at Orcariner, knowing that the larger Maximal probably couldn't bear to lose his leader right now as much as a mentor he knew he was to him in this war, Primal sighed and answered, "I'm afraid so. This is all we have in the time we're alotted." He offered the maximized and injured orca a reassuring smile.

"Ya know, I'm startin' ta think the only one sane here in dis room, uh, besides me of course, is her," Rattrap joked, pointing his thumb in Arachnitron's direction. "Here, Web-breath," the rodent in robot mode said as he handed back the transwarp cell to Blackarachnia with his newly attached bomb that was set to detonate after 30 seconds once the boss monkey "pulled the trigger" from inside the pod, so to speak. "Install this in the pod to the controls. And no funny business. Comprrrendé?" He gave her a glare and watched her work closely even though by now if she had intended to do anything malicious to the pod, it was too late to know because others hadn't been keeping a close eye on her, and they didn't have time to run any diagnostics.

Optimus Primal wrote: "Take care of Rattrap until I return. He needs looking after."
Oh Optimus.. Even in a strained situation like this, he somehow managed to find a little tidbit of humor to brighten their moods. If an outwardly positive spirit was all it took to win this war, the Maximal leader would have defeated those Predacons and the vok alike a long time ago. Yet as much as Primal attempted to brighten their mood and keep their spirits high, there was no hiding that lingering fear behind his comforting words. But the fuzor chose not to dwell on it. Not now. Instead she merely enjoyed the brief moments his arms held her, his furry arms providing more comfort than she would care to admit.

Aurora's face brightened up in a smile, a strange combination of the many conflicting emotions that were raging through her at the moment; fear, disappointment, sadness but also amusement and most of all hope. She glanced over at the rodent as she made her response.

"Aye. He does fall into the special needs category."

She gave the rat a teasing wink before Arachnitron's words tore her away, causing her to confront the mentally unstable female who was neither Maximal nor Predacon.

Aurora merely listened quietly while the spider explained, or at least attempted to, her actions to the rest of them. In the midst of it, the fuzor felt the comforting touch of Primal's hands resting on her shoulders while Whitegrazer stayed close by as well. Their presence and support, as well as the Maximals who were there as well, gave her the strength needed to keep her inner turmoil at bay.
"If you think I didn't realize that I would never make it into that pod, you are severely mistaken. I helped the spiders because of the deal I made with Tarantulas. In exchange for what he did to me to fix me, I agreed to help him get off of this planet. I knew the chances of going with him were slim."
"Perhaps I ought to be destroyed. That is what the Predacon scientists would have done to me anyway. It is the only cure for what I have. It would make no difference to anyone here if I died anyway."
Aurora wanted to protest, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. Perhaps her anger at the female spider, subdued as it was, prevented it.. or perhaps, deep down, she realized that the creature was right in her assumptions. If the situation was truly as grave as Arachnitron claimed, maybe they would reach a point where termination would prove to be the only humane thing to do.
"I'm grateful, and I know how dangerous this is, but only a flier has a chance to get clear of the blast."
"That's why I'M the one to go!" "I'm the best flier here!"
"My spark can fly."
As the arachnid went on, the other Maximals kept debating the plan in the background. They all seemed to stop, however, when Arachnitron proposed an offer of her own.
"Which is why I should go instead of you.
Whitegrazer was the first to address Arachnitron's offer.
"We can't allow you to take such a risk, Arachnitron. You can't give up on yourself like this. "
Optimus then countered, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind that he did not trust the widow enough to perform such a task.
"And let's face it, Arachnitron, after the stunt you decided to pull, I can't trust your word to accomplish this. There's too much at stake."
And there it was. The thus far silent giant offered some input as well. His words sounded defeated though, as if he'd already given up hope.
"Optimus," "Do we really have no other option?"
Aurora bit down on her lip with such force it nearly cracked under the strain.

Well, I thought there was supposed to be some sort of therapist character in the works....

I have no idea how you'd give a Cybertronian Ativan, but it is my personal favorite. Maybe another tech savvy bot can run with the inhibitor chip idea and tweak it so that it performs different functions. For example, maybe instead of blocking the other two personalities, an implant could meld them together somehow. In a human, a lot of that medication is designed to fix an imbalance of certain chemicals that the brain makes, so maybe some sort of chip or implant or some sort of other device can be designed to do something similar.....not sure just brainstorming here.

BIC:
Whitegrazer glanced at Arachnitron softly, "We were just as confused as you were, Arachnitron, and didn't want to do anything that would bring you even more suffering than you already were experiencing nor did we want to take advantage of you."

Arachnitron ignored her. Not because she was at a loss for words or that she hadn't heard what the horse had said, but because...she was right. Arachnitron certainly was confused herself. She could only imagine how confusing it must be on the other side of the proverbial fence. Of course, Tarantulas did point out earlier that her optics change colors when a different personality is in control. So perhaps the Maximals could have used that to tell the difference between the three personalities making it less confusing, but she wasn't sure what the colors were. She knew they had been red when the Predacon personality had been in control and then when the Hybrid took over, Tarantulas said her optics changed to green. But what was the third color when the Maximal was in control? She'd have to look into that. Maybe the Maximals didn't know about the color-change.

Whitegrazer spoke up again in response to Arachnitron's offer to take out the alien's weapon instead.
"We can't allow you to take such a risk, Arachnitron. You can't give up on yourself like this. "

She looked away bitterly. She almost pointed out that it was her feeling as though the Maximals had given up on her which drove her to give up on herself, but Optimus spoke up instead.
"The whole idea for this plan was based on no one losing their life. We've had enough death in this war as it is. And despite what you may think, Arachnitron, even losing you would make a big difference to some of us present. I won't allow anyone to take my place in this solo mission. I can't. You can still be helped if you chose to and if there is a way to do so. We may have limited equipment on this planet, but there are some brilliant minds and scientists here whose intentions aren't for their own games or experiments,"

Arachnitron looked back at Optimus doubtfully. She wasn't sure she could bring herself to trust them again. She had reached out to them and they had left her get taken by the Predacons. She was confused enough as it is, but being in their presence again had confused her all the more. She didn't know who she was anymore.
"And let's face it, Arachnitron, after the stunt you decided to pull, I can't trust your word to accomplish this. There's too much at stake."

She cocked her head stubbornly at the gorilla and crossed her arms over her chest plate. "It's not as though you all were using that empty pod. So I don't see where there was any harm in trying to run off with it. I can think of far more heinous acts that could have been committed here." she responded implying the fallen Maximal, Icebreaker.

Orcariner took Optimus' attention away from her. Of course, Arachnitron had taken Optimus' and the other Maximals' attention away from Blackarachnia. She had been left alone to fiddle with the pod's settings and other controls. Arachnitron found it ironic that they trusted Blackarachnia over herself, but she wasn't about to point that out to them. She had distracted them long enough. Not to say her confusion or her sentiments wasn't genuine, but she would have normally just kept them to herself. But she noticed a brief moment where Blackarachnia appeared to not be....herself. She was sure Tarantulas was in there....and he probably had some sort of plan. Taking the attention away from Blackarachnia seemed like the thing to do. Besides, she may need the Maximals again at some point. She had to soften them back up a bit.
"Ya know, I'm startin' ta think the only one sane here in dis room, uh, besides me of course, is her," Rattrap joked, pointing his thumb in Arachnitron's direction.

Arachnitron scowled at the rat. "Don't be insane," she countered.

Steelclaw couldn't help but think, as he witnessed Megatron blowing up over the lost signal he had been just using to spy on the Maximal base, that maybe his leader's plans really were thrown out the window now... Maybe it was time to think about what he was supposed to do if they were going to die.

But what could he do?

The idea of dying like this inspired fear in him, but it also inspired anger. He had come here to fight for something valuable, and the aliens intended to destroy him and his teammates without any regard for what had drawn the Predacons and Maximals to this planet in the first place.
Megatron wrote:Steelclaw. Reestablish the signal.
With his face still turned away from Megatron and towards Onyx, he raised an eyebrow at the command he'd been given. If Megatron couldn't even keep the signal active, how was Steelclaw supposed to know how to get it back?

And supposing he failed? Then Megatron would... oh, whatever. Steelclaw chuckled silently and turned around to try to do as he'd been told. If they were all about to die, what could Megatron threaten his failure with, anyways?

Steelclaw walked over to one of the monitors closer to the ground level and then pulled it so that it was at level with his own optics.

"So... computer, why'd you lose the signal in the first place?"

"Maximal shields at full capacity," the system reiterated.

"Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah; I'd heard that earlier." And he could safely assume the computer didn't have any way of shutting down the Maximal shields. Now that he thought if it though, if the computer could do that, they wouldn't even need the signal--they would just... win the Beast Wars. Really quickly.

"Can you increase the receptor strength?" he asked.

"Negative. Signal array at full capacity. Maximal shields impenetrable."

Steelclaw turned towards Megatron with in slight exasperation. "Well, there you go, sir. That's... all I know how to do. If you want the problem fixed, you need a hacker or somebody with like... advanced radio technology skills." Like Glowstick, the thought stole through his processor reflexively. "My guess is honestly that there isn't a solution to this anyways, and we're just stuck playing the waiting game. Either way, I certainly don't know the answer."

* * *

Optimus wanted to fly the stasis pod up and try to blow up the alien weapon with it? That was--. it would--. he was going to die!

Wasn't there any other way of doing this? Or, was... did it have be Optimus who went up there? Cheetor wondered if he would be willing to go instead... His voice synthesizer caught itself before he could speak. How could he dare go and do that himself?

But yes, this was the right thing to do.
Whitegrazer wrote:It's the only way to stop this weapon from destroying us. Our only hope of survival, and someone will have to fly it up there. I volunteer.
Wait a nanoclick!
Tigatron wrote:No! Let me! I owe this world.
Optimus Primal wrote:"I'm grateful, and I know how dangerous this is, but only a flier has a chance to get clear of the blast.
Airazor wrote:That's why I'M the one to go! I'm the best flier here!
He was too late. One moment of hesitation because he was afraid and he'd lost his opportunity to offer to go, and then he didn't have the courage anymore because Optimus' argument made too much sense and because he'd be third in line if Optimus listened to anyone, and Optimus was going to go up there without knowing whether Cheetor was willing to take his place and Optimus was going to go up there without Cheetor knowing whether he was willing to take Optimus' place. And Cheetor finally thought that maybe he was still a child, after all.

Dinobot had caught a glance from Aurora, and he had surmised for one moment that perhaps she was asking him a question, but then her attention was drawn to the situation at hand. His was as well. He listened to the back-and-forth between Aurora, Arachnitron and Optimus, and he watched Blackarachnia very carefully in case she tried to do anything dangerous out of some sense of hatred, desperation, selfishness or something along those lines.

All the while, his patience was wearing thin with Arachnitron. He knew Optimus would probably want the crew not to start shouting at a time like this, so he checked himself as best as he could...
Arachnitron wrote:It's not as though you all were using that empty pod. So I don't see where there was any harm in trying to run off with it. I can think of far more heinous acts that could have been committed here.

But he was, after all, still Predacon.

"Indeed, so can I," he spoke up. "Would you like me to start off by listing the harm inflicted on our crew members in your mission to reach this pod, or should I instead turn to your willingness to leave all on this planet--Maximal and Predacon alike--to die at the hands of the aliens while you hoped to escape with Tarantulas? And while we are speaking of justification, I should point out that it is one strategy to place all of the moral weight for one's actions upon their perceptions of the actions of others; it is quite another strategy to invoke the still-fresh weight of a tragedy simply so that you can attempt to make your misdeeds seem comparatively lighter. But since you have chosen to bring it up--did you happen to know that Maximal who died in his attempt to protect you? When you learned of his fate, did his sacrifice mean anything to you, or did you simply decide that he wasn't a person worthy of your concern? Or was that assessment simply made right here and now while you searched for rhetorical defense? And finally, if you intend to offend the sensibilities of Cybertronians who are stellar-cylcles your younger, at least be certain that they are not on your side in the first place, and after that information has been ascertained, be certain that it is indeed you who are right and not they."

((OOC: I tend to get scared of letting characters go after other player's characters like that, so I do want to make sure that I say there is no offense intended to you, here, Blackrosefencer!))

Tarantulas remained hidden and silent within the confines of Blackarachnia's mind, content to watch his plans for Primal unfold while he waited for the fate of this mudball of a world to be decided. There was really not much else left for him to do until the weapon was destroyed, no point in making a break for it until he was certain the planet wasn't going to give away beneath his feet or explode in a ball of fire, especially not with the maximals still watching him, or rather, his vessel, Blackarachnia.

Even surrounded by his enemies, even with immanent death looming over his head, Tarantulas couldn't help but ponder his own future. He could see the damage inflicted upon his body as it lay inert in the hallway, burnt beyond recognition, the metal blackened to slag and the biomatter fried to a crisp. His first thought was to sneak it to the maximal's CR chamber, but there was little hope of him slipping past their notice with a so many optics watching, and the predacon base's CR tanks were out of the question as well. Even with CR technology or his own considerable skills, there was a strong possibility that his body was too far gone to restore...Would he have to spend the rest of his life inside the body of Blackarachnia? A femme who was both an object of obsession and contempt for him?

"What a revolting thought...SLAG INFERNO TO THE PIT!" Tarantulas fumed, his rage terrible yet left unheard by anyone, such was the blessing and curse of being a disembodied cyber specter.

"Assuming any survive what is to come, I may have to acquire a maximal protoform to download myself into if my own body doesn't make it" Tarantulas pondered, already brainstorming ways by which to get himself out of this ridiculous situation, many involving using Inferno's severed head as a paperweight for whatever reason.

He had been observing Arachnitron's behavior, listening to her chit chat with the maximals, but he had yet to see an opportunity to let her know he was alive and well. He could only hope his surprisingly devoted pawn stayed out of trouble long enough to be of use to him once the maximals let their guard down.

((OOC: XD I will be able to post tomorrow. I was going to post, but I wanted to add a bit more stuff to what I had. Also, happy halloween, everyone! :D

Edited: Here it is! XD If there is anything needed to be changed, I will gladly edit it! :D ))
We may have limited equipment on this planet, but there are some brilliant minds and scientists here whose intentions aren't for their own games or experiments,""And let's face it, Arachnitron, after the stunt you decided to pull, I can't trust your word to accomplish this. There's too much at stake."
"Indeed, so can I,""Would you like me to start off by listing the harm inflicted on our crew members in your mission to reach this pod, or should I instead turn to your willingness to leave all on this planet--Maximal and Predacon alike--to die at the hands of the aliens while you hoped to escape with Tarantulas? And finally, if you intend to offend the sensibilities of Cybertronians who are stellar-cycles your younger, at least be certain that they are not on your side in the first place, and after that information has been ascertained, be certain that it is indeed you who are right and not they."
Whitegrazer believed after all that was said had been said. There were no more explanations, anger, nor excuses to be made.
"Aye. He does fall into the special needs category."
She chuckled at Aurora's comment and looked down to see Aurora's difficulty matching Ocrariner's attempt to find another way. Even she wanted to find another way. She gently patted Aurora's shoulder to comfort her giving a look of understanding of her feelings. Deep down she felt the same way, but knew this way...was the only one.
"What a revolting thought...SLAG INFERNO TO THE PIT!
"Hey, I could hear you." Blackarachnia hissed inwardly at Tarantulas' complaining. She had to complete this pod and survive this ordeal long enough, "And I agree. When we survive this, I will find away to get you out of my head!" Added hint of determination along with anger at her thoughts being violated by this lunatic.

Blackarachnia took off the green visor. It was now useless.
"Install this in the pod to the controls. And no funny business. Comprrrendé?"
"Why, thank you." She said with sarcasm as she installed the explosive.

She put some finishes touches like the computer responding to only Optimus' voice, unaware of Megatron's tampering beforehand.

"Well... in you go."

She pressed the command to open the stasis pod so Optimus could enter.

So the time is here.

Whitegrazer looked at Optimus, walking closer to him. She sighed to herself before giving a peaceful smile towards him. Gently, she spread her arms and embraced Optimus in a hug. Her forehead rested against his before she bought him closer to her. Her spark pulsed softly as she whispered to him, "With our connection, I will be with you. You won't be alone." She kept him close to her; thoughts of knocking him out to take his place appeared. Tempting it was to do. After all, she was nothing but a soldier, an instructor while he was the leader, the one who kept the team together, the one who brought them all to this specific spot. Of course, there were certain individuals that can probably lead them, but that wasn't the point: Optimus was one of a kind.

There was something inside him... and this wasn't because of her feelings towards him, but it was interesting that it didn't take long for her to spark a connection, a bond between him and her. Like some force was pushing them together. Them forming feelings was just...how she put it? ...Was the human expression: icing on the cake? Anyway, she knew that Optimus was needed... more than her.

"...There are still things needed to be teached... child."

Huh?

Blackarachnia stared at the Maximal horse hugging Optimus, wearing a smirk. There was a certain feel coming from those two especially their looks they gave each other. So the Maximal leader is chummy with someone? That information can come in handy...if they survived this. She shrugged indifferently towards it now, though. Part of her didn't really care.

Her optics and audiotory sensors were getting ready for the mushy fireworks that were about to come.

(( OOC: I have warm fingers and a warm house again! So it's time to get back in the groove. Too bad there aren't as many players present right now to see their characters' leader off. Wish they'd be able to come back soon. :|

Great posts, guys! I love the tangled web being woven with Tarantulas, Arachnitron and Blackarachnia. ))
"Aye. He does fall into the special needs category."
Optimus gave a light chuckle at Aurora's comment, also glancing at Rattrap.

Rattrap gave both of them a suspicious look, squinting an optic. Are they talkin' 'bout me? he pondered. I bet they are. Always makin' fun of me behind my back, he added in paranoia. Not that he really minded it. It wasn't like Optimus ever spoke of anyone badly behind their backs. And Aurora? Well, she was just a tease. She was like a little niece to him so her playfulness was innocent, as well as comforting. Too bad ol' Chopperface didn't have the same attitude. Typical ex-Pred personality, right? Stuck up and angry all the time, kind of like an old man. Heh heh, he snickered to himself.
"It's not as though you all were using that empty pod. So I don't see where there was any harm in trying to run off with it. I can think of far more heinous acts that could have been committed here."
A deep growl began growing in the gorilla's throat as he thought about the Maximals, the friends he had already lost. Recent wounds didn't need to be torn open again, especially by Arachnitron's words, so Primal attempted to turn his anger down a notch and take a silent, deep breath. Whitegrazer's and Aurora's presence helped him keep himself in check. He had to set a better example despite the pain and the circumstances. After all, he may very well be meeting his own fate soon, and he didn't want his temper to be the last thing remembered by his crew. If Arachnitron really thought termination was the only way for her salvation, she didn't need a stasis pod and a moon-sized alien weapon to accomplish that; there are other ways. Cowardly ways, some would call it. He hoped she was stronger than that. But now that Tarantulas tampered with her, who knows what could happen or if she really meant all the things she had said so far. He tried taking it with a grain of salt but it was difficult with her spiteful and snide remarks. At any rate, he was glad Aurora wasn't lashing out anymore. She didn't need to let Arachnitron know that her comments were getting to her. Don't give her the satisfaction, he thought. Just ignore her and be true to yourself and your compassion. That's what matters.
"Don't be insane,"
"Oh. Good one," Rattrap sarcastically told Arachnitron with a roll of his optics. Can they get this over with yet?
"Indeed, so can I," "Would you like me to start off by listing the harm inflicted on our crew members in your mission to reach this pod, or should I instead turn to your willingness to leave all on this planet--Maximal and Predacon alike--to die at the hands of the aliens while you hoped to escape with Tarantulas?
Rattrap found his mouth hanging open at Dinobot's sudden argument and defense against Arachnitron's offensiveness, using his hand to lift his chin to close it. That was rather... unexpecting of the raptor. The rodent was impressed but he dared not admit it.

Optimus had also been taken aback by Dinobot. Not just because of what he said, but that he had finally decided to say anything at all. And when he did, it was impressive, and he brought up good points that hopefully would leave Arachnitron speechless and in thought because he was beginning to grow tired of this neverending debate. He didn't want things to get out of hand, or emotions to run as high as they did only a day or so ago. Primal was running on fatigue, exhaustion, and had pushed aside as much as he could to mourn for lost friends later, trying to be strong for his crew, especially for Aurora and Cheetor, the youngest ones, and Orcariner. There was no time to go through it again right now. He needed to stay focused. He needed strength from his crew. He didn't need Arachnitron trying to tear it apart or tug at anyone's nerves. He was very close to telling Feralnight to take her to the brig which would end this discussion and the squabbling. However, going back to Dinobot's words, Optimus was proud of him and comforted by his honor, respect and dignity. Well said, Dinobot, he commended him in silence. If there were two things he did right in this entire war, it was allowing Dinobot and Frilla into his ranks; both of which had proven themselves time and time again despite the obstacles they've had to endure because of their past relationships with their former teammates. Not wanting to remain in the conversation any longer since he had bigger things to worry about, and since Dinobot seemd to have a greater grasp on it, the Maximal leader turned his attention to Blacharachnia.
"Why, thank you."
Rattrap gave Blackarachnia's sarcasm a shudder and briefly thought about plucking each of her eight legs out of her and squashing her like the poisonous spider she was with no where to go. Ugh. Predacons.
"Well... in you go."
Stepping closer to the pod, watching its door lift open, Optimus said calmly, "Maximize," and transformed to his robot mode. It would be somewhat of a tight squeeze so he'd have to adjust some of his armor and feet. No big deal. After a quick inspection, secretly wondering if the black widow had done any tampering to the controls after all the betrayal lately, he turned back around to face his crew. This wouldn't be the last time he'd see them, he was certain. Although incredibly dangerous, the mission was also very simple. What could go wrong? He would succeed, whether or not it meant taking his life. Hopefully not, of course. After having been through so much, he hated to leave his crew now... his family. He looked at each of them with their eyes on him until Whitegrazer stepped forward.

Studying her face as she approached, as if tracing every feature, every detail to remember on his trip, Primal smiled back at Whitegrazer and welcomed her embrace, wrapping his arms around her. Everything seemed to fall into place, as if the Maximals had been meant to follow Megatron here, crash on this planet, grow, learn, explore, and defend each other from harm and destruction. Survive and endure together. From a simple, inexperienced exploration Captain to a war Commander. How did this all happen? How did Optimus end up so lucky to have this incredible crew and to find this love? And was he about to throw it all away? It didn't matter as long as this planet was saved and his Maximals were safe.
"With our connection, I will be with you. You won't be alone."
His forehead against hers, Primal's smile brightened staring deeply into Whitegrazer's optics, absorbing her positive energy like a sponge. He could feel his spark pulse insync with hers, their connection stronger than ever now. Was it because something was about to happen? Or simply because the circumstances had brought them this much closer to one another? Optimus didn't know and he tried not taking it for granted. She knew something her visions told her but she refrained herself from telling him everything. That was okay, though, because he still had secrets of his own that he was unwilling to reveal just yet. He still had so many questions to ask her, to know her better, but all of that will have to wait now. "And I will be with you, Whitegrazer," he confidently whispered back to her. He wasn't exactly sure how he would be able to do that since she had a much better handle on energy, connections, and bonds, but he would try nonetheless. After all, what else would he have to think about during his flight before the time would come to abandon the pod? Lifting his head up, he kissed her forehead, lingering for a moment, before reluctantly releasing their embrace. As much as he'd love to be in her arms a while longer, or forever, there was still the matter of blowing up that Vok weapon, and time was running short.

Glancing at Blackarachnia taking notice of their embrace but looking away from them, Optimus said to her, "Thanks for your help." Even if the widow never intended on providing assistance for them and truly only wanted to save herself from this planet's destruction by stealing their stasis pod, it didn't stop the Maxmal leader from showing her his gratitude toward making the pod functional and finishing the job. Little did he know about Tarantulas's involvement, but it was too late for that anyway.

Tigatron smiled as he watched Optimus and Whitegrazer. He understood what they felt for each other because he had the same relationship with Airazor. He wanted to walk up to their commanding officer and shake his hand, let him know his appreciation for all that he had done for him and the others would never be overlooked or forgotten, but the white tiger thought it best to keep his grip on Blackarachnia's shoulders as he stood behind her after she was done working on the pod. For her to try and escape now would be foolish on her part, but also too much of a distraction that none of them could afford right now. Starshadow had been surprisingly quiet most of the time. Maybe she was debating with her own reflection and how she so effortlessly and carelessly betrayed the Maximals just for a stasis pod. "Safe journey, Optimus," was all Tigatron could muster up with a peaceful smile. Anything more might seal his fate if you were the superstitious type.

Primal smiled back at Tigatron and nodded, appreciating his kindness and positive thoughts. Yes, it would be a safe journey. ...It might be a one-way ticket. Perhaps the safety of the journey wasn't for him but for them. His priority was for his Maximals, the planet and even the Predacons. After those would be concern for himself. "Rattrap, you're in charge until I return," he worded carefully and commandingly as if what he was about to do was another routine reconnaissance mission. Just like he said to Aurora earlier, "until I return." He wanted to make sure they still had a positive outlook on this. He wanted them to keep hope that he would be back for them because he said so.

Sighing in protest about that order, Rattrap knew it was the chain of command since Rhinox was in the CR chamber, and that he was capable of leadership, but no one could hold this group together like Optimus. He hated the job, especially now with everything that was going on. Since the last time he lead the Maximals, which only turned out okay because they got Optimus back from his abduction, there was so much more responsibility now. ...And the high probability of not getting him back this time. It was no secret that this was very likely Earth now. It had been Earth the entire time. What else did that entail? Did the monkey realize how much weight he just dropped on his narrow little shoulders? How were they supposed to defeat Megatron without him? How were they supposed to get home? Nodding with reluctance at Primal, accepting the order since he had no choice, he tried to make light of the situation by asking, "Uh... Since yer puttin' me in charge, and just in case you don't come back... Can I have your quarters?" He always had the best room. Doesn't it come with the title? Rattrap could do so much more with it than Optimus did.

Chuckling, Optimus answered, "No, Rattrap. Just worry about putting those four in the brig and deciding their fates later when this is all over," pointing to Starshadow, Arachnitron, Inferno and Tarantulas. "I would suggest hanging on to Blackarachnia just in case."

Rattrap nodded softly and rolled his shoulders back a little as if trying to make himself appear larger. He wasn't very good with good-byes. He just stood there hoping like crazy that Optimus wouldn't leave them there with Megatron and his goonies. It was difficult for him to say what he really wanted to say in front of others; to tell Optimus how much he proved him wrong since the beginning and how sorry he was that he doubted his leadership and didn't trust him as much as he should have in most of his decisions. To tell him how much their leader's confidence has grown in himself and how much more selfless he was than the rat. It took Primal a lot of courage and bravery to step up and lead this diverse crew into a war like this when he was never trained or prepared for something of this magnitude. It took even more to face Megatron and these Vok aliens without fear the way Optimus did every time. If he ever was scared, he never showed it. Rattrap could never be a leader like him. He would try because the ape was putting all his faith and confidence in him to do it and succeed, but he had his doubts. So much to tell him and this might the only time to do so, but he chickened out. Besides, he'd be back. He ain't gonna die up there. He's invincible. Surely Blackarachnia wouldn't have done anything to help Megatron if she was already planning on betraying him. Why give him an edge on the war when the good-guy leader has done nothing to her? Rattrap's fingers were secretly crossed for his return. You betta come back, Fearless Leader.

"Whatever happens," Optimus picked up where he left off, "I want everyone to know what an honor and a privilege it has been serving with you." His red optics settled momentarily on each Maximal while he spoke, surveying them around the room. "I came into this situation... this war as a completely different bot, and each and every one of you have made me who I am today; better than I was before. I can't possibly tell you how much all of you mean to me, and how much your support and friendships have made me stronger and fight harder. I can only hope I have made a fraction of the same positive influence on you as you have on me." Pausing, he smiled as he took in their faces and personalities, unbeknownst to him what all of their thoughts were. He just felt like he needed to speak from his spark and tell them what they needed to hear while he still had the chance. "I have no idea how I ended up with such an extraordinary crew who have all come from different origins and different pasts. The best," he enforced. He saw them far more than himself. He couldn't have gotten this far without them. Whatever forces brought sparks like these together has a much higher purpose for the greater outcome than any of them could possibly imagine. Primal was certain there was a reason for it all and where they were at this particular time in their lives, but there was no definite answer so all he could do was make sure they would continue on and work together. Whatever happened to him did not matter. If he were to die, he hoped they would take advantage of his sacrifice and stop Megatron once and for all.

(( OOC: I've been writing and editing this for a few hours now so I'm going to stop here and let peeps catch up and add anything else they might want to with their characters before OP hops in the pod and takes off. I hope this wasn't too much all at once.

I don't know why they kept Blackarachnia with them at the command center in the show while OP flew up to the weapon, so I was just trying to make something plausible out of that. The other Preds should be thrown in the Axalon's brig, but don't worry, guys, because after the transwarp explosion, Blackarachnia will be forced to grab Tarantulas's TM body out of his cell while the Axalon's systems are disrupted, so she'd also be able to break the others out. Except for Inferno because he's such a brown-noser, but then he gets out anyway. ))

@OOP: Awwww...this is so cute. :D I love what is going on between Whitegrazer and Optimus in that moment. I squealed. As well as the speech Optimus gives everyone...pulls the heartstrings. Kinda reminds me when I first watched this episode and then saw the ending. This was me:  after . Everyone will be sad now and...even more when...he blows up. Oh dear the saddness in the posts to come will be tenfold. XD

(ooc: Aww.. That's a pretty sweet farewell speech, OOP. :) Although I bet your hands have gone a bit beyond being 'warmed up' after typing up all that. )

As much as Aurora wanted to, she found it difficult to maintain eye contact as Optimus began addressing all of them with one of his 'we can do it' speeches' as Rattrap had so adequately called them. Albeit Whitegrazer's presence behind her, placing a comforting hand on her, did help the unsettling emotions somewhat. Still.. Optimus' speech only seemed to reinforce the severity of the situation they were in right now. The threat of this being a one way trip was as real as the ongoing massacre around them.

Aurora's spirit sank visibly as she reminded herself of what was at stake here. It wasn't just Optimus' life in the balance but rather all of them; every being on this world. The worst case scenario was that Optimus would not be able to complete the plan to destroy the weapon. If such was the case, Optimus would be forced to watch everyone he loved so much perish along with the rest of the planet. Alternately the plan would succeed and the destruction of the weapon would come to pass, but quite possibly costing the delivery guy his life in the process.

With a longing sigh, Aurora finally looked up at the taller Maximal. The little fuzor could not even imagine how heavily this situation weighed on Primal's shoulders.
"Well... in you go."
"Safe journey, Optimus,"
Aurora hated goodbyes. They made everything seem so.. final. She found herself struggling to find some comforting parting words of encouragement in these last few moments before the leader ventured on the most dangerous mission of his life. A task he had to do solo, without the aid of his comrades.

Goodbye.. She could not bring herself to say the word. Instead she decided to leave Optimus with a parting gift; a reminder of how he could never give up no matter how grave the situation looked out there in space.
"Rattrap, you're in charge until I return,"
"Uh... Since yer puttin' me in charge, and just in case you don't come back... Can I have your quarters?"
Good ol' Rattrap.. Somehow the rodent had a way to lighten the mood even in the worst possible of times. Aurora's lips curled up into a slight, ever so brief, smile as Optimus and Rattrap continued their fun little bickering even now.

Not willing to let the moment slip away from her, however, given the fact she had not been given the chance to say farewell to her other companions who had already departed, Aurora went to work.

She tapped a few buttons on the small computer she had mounted to her wrist then aimed the monitor at each of the Maximals present in turn, allowing it to scan each of their features. Once done she quickly added the images she took into one holographic display of all of them. Her fingers moved swiftly, almost dancing, across the touch-screen before she was done. It was not the best work she could do, but she was short on time right now. She transferred the data onto a small holographic display consisting of a small, flattened round device that could easily fit in someone's hand. The device had a simple button to show its message, in this case the hologram, whenever the recipient decided to do so.

Satisfied, she held onto the parting gift for a few more moments as Optimus finished addressing them.
"Whatever happens," "I want everyone to know what an honor and a privilege it has been serving with you." "I came into this situation... this war as a completely different bot, and each and every one of you have made me who I am today; better than I was before. I can't possibly tell you how much all of you mean to me, and how much your support and friendships have made me stronger and fight harder. I can only hope I have made a fraction of the same positive influence on you as you have on me." "I have no idea how I ended up with such an extraordinary crew who have all come from different origins and different pasts. The best,"
His words warmed her more than she thought they would.

He was going to make it. He had to..

Her smile broadened a bit as he gazed upon all of them, taking in their love, devotion, and worry in return. She waited until he was finished before making her approach.

With a few short steps she had made her way over to him. Upon standing in front of him, she softly tugged at his hand until she got the fingers to part. Then she placed the device within his open palm and proceeded to close the fingers around it.

Looking at him with large green optics, she told him in her sweetest voice;

"This way we can all go together."

Orcariner remained speechless after hearing Optimus speak. The only course of action he could muster was to raise his right hand up towards his forehead as a symbolic salute. The fearless leader's words held true to each and every one of them. The giant could not recall any other team he would rather stand by than the Maximals around him. Even in what could possibly be their final moments, Orcariner was proud to be in the company of transformers such as these. Most of all, Optimus Primal was indeed the greatest commander he had ever served under. It certainly pained the whale's spark to see the latter prepare to fly off on a mission he very well may not return from.

That's not the mentality we need right now!

No, Orcariner forced himself to see the situation for what it should be. He forced himself to see hope. That was what Optimus was fighting for today. He strove to give them the hope that this crew would live to fight another day. A hope for all of them to someday return to Cybertron together with experiences to share with their old friends. The world was on the brink of collapse from an enemy far more powerful than they could fathom, and Optimus was giving them an opportunity to survive. As his hand fell back to his side, Orcariner found himself breaking into a slight smile towards his leader.

"We'll see you when you get back."

Arachnitron was taken by surprise by the raptor in the corner suddenly speaking up. She couldn't remember ever having heard him speak before. He was always just brooding somewhere or snarling at someone. He was, actually, the last bot she expected to hear from in all of this.

She listened silently to what he had to say. She actually didn't think about her actions very carefully before she acted on them. All she thought about was repaying her debt to Tarantulas in exchange for the inhibitor chip. She couldn't go back on her agreement to help Tarantulas.

"Another colony heard from!" she muttered sarcastically. She hoped her interruption would shut the dino up, but he kept talking.
And finally, if you intend to offend the sensibilities of Cybertronians who are stellar-cycles your younger, at least be certain that they are not on your side in the first place, and after that information has been ascertained, be certain that it is indeed you who are right and not they."

She stared at the raptor for a few nano-clicks hurt and angry. She thought back to what happened when the Predacons came into the base to get her. She had been told to protect Frilla and, in doing so, had offered to go with the Predacons willingly so that they would let Frilla go unharmed. At some point later on, Wintersong showed up behind her and told her to go with them. She wasn't wrong, she knew what happened.

She narrowed her optics at the raptor. She was tired of this arguing, but she had to say something.

"You weren't there," she reminded him bitterly, but tried to keep her voice even and her temper under control. "So don't tell me how it happened and don't tell me what I think and feel about what happened. I tried to do my part to keep your crew safe too. And what did I get in return? "Just take Arachnitron and leave." That's what the Predacons were told. Just because you don't like what you hear, doesn't mean it isn't true. Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow."

Of course, she had been switching personalities fairly quickly. She didn't realize that Wintersong had witnessed that and that what she said was meant for the Predacon programming to hear and not the Hybrid. Everything that had happened....between her personalities switching as quickly as they did and Icebreaker being shot.....had overloaded her circuits. She had glitched and it had left her in a weakened state by herself in the woods. After all was said and done, it was the Predacons who found her and not the Maximals. Of course, she didn't know that after everything that happened, Wintersong had asked to go find her and had been told not to go.

As far as Icebreaker was concerned....had he been protecting her when he died? She had no idea, but to say it didn't affect her was wrong. It was his death, after all, that sent her spiraling out of control in the first place. It was all too much to handle at once. Perhaps that played a large part in her lashing out. If he was protecting her, then he shouldn't have been. She wasn't worthy of that and then he went and got himself killed doing it. If he was protecting her, then that would have been the first time anyone had ever made that kind of sacrifice for her. But, was he? Just before he was shot, everyone else in the bridge told her to go with Predacons....so did he agree with them? At that point, was he protecting her from the Predacons...or was he protecting his crew mates from her....?

"Just leave me alone," she finally said. She looked away from the Maximals. She didn't want to talk about this anymore. She sat down where she was and held her hands up to show Frilla and Feralnight she meant no harm. They did, after all, have orders to shoot her if she moved too much. She leaned against the stasis pod nearest to her and pulled her knees up to her chest-plate. She wrapped her arms around her knees while continuing to look away from the Maximals.

She listened as the Maximals all wished their leader good luck, but she didn't speak. Watching Optimus, she suddenly felt really bad about what she had done....not to the other Maximals, but to him. She knew that it was wrong of her to come back to the Maximals in her bitter state and get back at them. She took her anger out on Optimus and out on others who were not involved. She shouldn't have done that...not after all he did to help her. She was angry about a lot of things right now, but she wasn't angry with Optimus. He had every right to be upset and feel betrayed by her actions, but they weren't meant for him. She didn't know how to tell him that or if she even should so she kept it to herself.

Besides, the damage was done. She heard Optimus tell Rattrap to lock her up with the other Predacons. She heard herself whimper quietly at the thought of being locked up again.

OOC:
The other Preds should be thrown in the Axalon's brig, but don't worry, guys, because after the transwarp explosion, Blackarachnia will be forced to grab Tarantulas's TM body out of his cell while the Axalon's systems are disrupted, so she'd also be able to break the others out. Except for Inferno because he's such a brown-noser, but then he gets out anyway.

Didn't the transwarp explosion knock the power out on the cells in the brig? Isn't that how Inferno got away? Or did Blackarachnia turn the power off?

Megatron's face soured as he narrowly resisted the initial instinct of trashing the messenger. This venture was turning into a disaster and there was little he could do about it aside from wait and cling to the declining hope that his plan would work out after all. His brief moment of triumph when Tarantulas' plan appeared to proceed had been interrupted by the loss of the signal, leaving them blind to the proceedings that were causing the delay at the Maximal base. The pod should have launched by now.

His thoughts were interrupted by yet another explosion caused by the overheating of nearby energon deposits. As the base shook once more, Megatron glanced over his remaining Predacons. They remained quietly at their posts, several of them looking to him to solve this problem at any moment now.

What was taking so long?!

These aliens disregarded the value of life much the same way he himself did. If the situation was reversed and it was Megatron in the process of obliterating the planet, he would not hesitate to do so either if it meant the destruction of his enemies. He would revel in the act itself and enjoy every moment of his opponents' defeat. Yet, unfortunately, he was on the receiving end this round.

He had considered taking matters into his own hands by using their base's weapons against the alien construct in the sky but he realized it would be a futile task at this distance and with their limited firepower. His best, if not only, chance was to wait it out.

Megatron was just about to respond to Steelclaw's comment when frantic screaming in the corridors caught his attention.
"GET BACK HERE FILTHY MAXIMALS! INTRUDERS! INTRUDERS! LET ME SLICE YOUR FACE OFF!!! BAHAHHAHA!!!"
Maximal intruders?! Here? NOW?!

Megatron readied his weapon and prepared to fire as the screaming mantis approached them. He took aim at the doorway, scowling as the two tiny earth creatures came scattering into the room with Manterror in hot pursuit.

OOC: Sorry, I thought I'd done my last post for Tarantulas before Optimus's big exit, many thanks to Phoenix for contacting me

Una wrote: Blackarachina smirked at Arachnitron's comment, agreeing with her very sentiment at these disgustingly heroic Maximals.

Tarantulas shared in Blackarachnia's disgust for the maximals and their insipid sentimentality...How did Dinobot tolerate living amongst these stupid warmbloods? For that matter, how could such fools have survived against hardened predacons for so long with such weakness in their sparks?

"Megatron's leadership coupled with the incompetence of my "peers," no doubt" Tarantulas scoffed within the darkness of Blackarachnia's mind, impatient for the big ape to say his good buys and be on his way already so he could watch him burn.
Optimal Optimus Primal wrote: "Whatever happens," Optimus picked up where he left off, "I want everyone to know what an honor and a privilege it has been serving with you." His red optics settled momentarily on each Maximal while he spoke, surveying them around the room.

"By the Pit, how does he stomach all that bile?!" Tarantulas groaned in growing disdain of Primal's emotional speech, he'd rather listen to one of Megatron's ego-maniacal rants about how "brilliant" he is, or even Terrorsaur's complaints about how he alone should lead the Predacons...ANYTHING BUT THIS DRIVEL!

If the ape didn't depart soon he may have to break his cover just so he could shut him up with a swarm of machine gunfire.

Blackrose wrote: "You weren't there," she reminded him bitterly, but tried to keep her voice even and her temper under control. "Heheheheheheh, despair of that caliber is not so easily dissuaded, Maximals, nice try though" Tarantulas cackled, confident that Arachnitron would not be swayed by the Maximals words, whether they be honest attempts to reach out to her in friendship or simply scolding her for blaming all her problems on them.

"Fear not little one, your faithful benefactor will make you all better once the hero falls, heheheheheheh!"
