Over 7,000 people died around the world from simultaneous Decepticon attacks, countless others died during some of the ending battle scenes, Sam and Prime died/almost died, everyone was hunting for Sam in desperation to stop the Decepticons from killing them all, the government was shutting down the Autobots just when they needed them most... I mean, yeah there was comic relief, but it was still a pretty darn dark movie.

I know it happened but we don't really see it happening anywhere. The only darkness we get is seeing Sam blame himself and them trying to hide Sam from everyone else. All we really see is Sam's parents getting captured. I just think for me that the ending in Transformers seemed more dramatic for me than this movie. I bought into everyone keeping Sam and the All Spark protected for the well being of the Earth. If Megatron got The Cube they would all die. And with Jazz dying it felt more dramatic or dark to me. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen just didn't seem as dark to me.

Kinda agree with Darth Knuckles on this one. Lots of implied/hardly shown deaths does not a dark movie make. *thinks of countless Arnie films*
ROTF has not struck a "good movie" chord with me. Because, imo, it's not a good movie. What it is is a FUN movie, full of action and momentum and mind-blowing CGI. I wish we could have had a 'The Dark Knight' equivalent in terms of TF film, but we don't, we have a rowdy, made-for-kids-and-adults action romp. (Not surprisingly because Hasbro are a major partner and want to market toys to kids.) That was the formula set out in the first one and Bay's going to follow that through to the end, I think. I honestly, I enjoy these films simply because I go in them thinking "Giant robotos smashing things - check. Gorgeous CGI - check. Adorable moments with Bumblee and other TFs - check" and as long as I just expect that, I'm not disappointed.
Though I agree the trailer does make them look a lot scarier than they are!!

I knew I wasn't the only one thinking that ROTF should have had 'The Dark Knight' kind of quality...unfortunately...that doesn't exist in the Bayverse(lol)
I saw it about a week ago and I agree that ROTF is a fun movie. I can't really add much more to what Sapphire has said. I went in expecting giant, CGI robots beating the slag out of each other with massive explosions and that's what I got.
Yup. This is the area where one generally puts their signature....
Lately I've been checking with some of the Critics that i trust the most what do they think about the last movie:
"It suck" Just like that, I mean it looks like the only people that like it are we Transformers fans and people who just enjoys watching a movie inted of just critic.
The woorst thing is that they complain about small details and no about the main movie
Generally, if critics hate a movie, than I love it (ROTF) and if they like a movie, than I either hate it or think it's boring/too depressing (Dark Knight on the latter). So if ROTF had started to get positive reviews, I'd honestly have been hesitant to see it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking the way I do. From the very first trailer it looked like who would eventually be known as Demolisher was going to be a big and dangerous foe to Optimus and the Autobots but he ends up dieing very early and pretty easily at the beginning of the movie. I too wanted it to be a "dark" movie like The Empire Strikes Back where the bad guys win. The trailers looked that way but it didn't play out that way to me.
That was also a funny observation of the Doctor being like a face hugger Night-Hunter.

Yeah; I don't know I've loved the Dark Knight and i tough most of the complains would come from people that said that it looks nothing like the original comic. That's another thing anyway.
He just served as a source of annoyance because I 1 couldn't figure out his accent, and 2 I hadn't heard of a 'Scalpel' before. But during my second viewing of the movie, I enjoyed seeing a tiny foot tall bot ordering monstrous Constructicons to cannibalize their brother.
Did anyone think that Starscream's new tatoos were random; I mean I know that the Decepticons had decided to come outta the closet (make that what you will), but tatoos?
Scapel mostly goes by the name Doctor and his accent is east European German. From what i've heard he kinda sounds like Zim from Invadar Zim lol.
I also thought the tattoo's on Starscream were random you can't really see it when he's in robot mode but you can clearly see them when he's an F22 i think he got those when he claimed leadership over what Decepticons were left.
