Whitegrazer watched as Landslide seemed to take her explanation, not comprehending anything that she meant to convey. She tilted her head towards the beetle with a sad expression, realizing that maybe... she haven't just commit one big mistake today, but she had committed an even bigger one for awhile now. She watched as Ironclaw went silent after what she said. She didn't know if it was her words or who she listed, either way a part of her was glad that he at least seemed to listen or took what she said to heart. Even if it wasn't for her. She would accept that. Wintersong and Aurora... those two Ironclaw seemed to care about the most. Maybe those two were the only ones that may get through to him.

Landslide's words echoed within her mind again. Survival... it was a concept she used religiously back in the war. It was the only thing she had and wanted... back then. She was different now. She cared more for their survival than her own. If they misinterpreted that as martyrdom then so be it. She knew differently. Different... Optimus... I know I can be stubborn at times. And despite my experience and age, even I... am not immune to learning a lesson. Or two. Tactics... yes, that needed to change. But how? How? That was the question she asked herself. It must be that she herself didn't want to change. Back on Cybertron, she... led a more isolated life. True, she had acquaintances as well as TyCross and his... friends. But no one she ever got close to. After what happened to her unit, all the connections she could have made dead in front of her eyes and the lingering scars of death of her comrades and opponents leeching out of her, she choose to isolate herself. TyCross agreed with it. Due to her presence in a political climate of sorts. She bet the Maximal High Council of Elders enjoyed her isolation because of what happened in the war. Her presence... a constant remainder.

But maybe, deep down, she was hurting herself. Hurting those around her now. She... she didn't mean to. She never really thought of it before. Could she had... gotten too isolated from everyone?

Could...maybe her abilities weren't from anything physical... but emotional?

She never... Was she really that afraid of herself?

She had a lot to think about.
"What de heck happened out there?" Rattrap asked angrily. "Nobody was supposed ta be outside except Nemesis, 'Grazer, Ironclaw and Cheetor. And you were supposed to be on alert! Don't you think I know anythin' about traps and snipers? I need all de manpower I can get when we finally go get Optimus back. And just because he ain't here ta boss everybody around doesn't mean dat this is a free-fer-all and nobody has ta listen ta me. You follow my orders!" he yelled at all of them. "What was Aurora doin' out there? And you, Landslide? And you, Banshee? Nobody thought ta stick around with Rhinox when he was left alone with Sonar? You all ran off outside to look for Predacons who weren't even in range yet, but that don't mean any weapons can't reach you! There's a shapeshifter out there who could be anybody if he can be Nexus Prime, Optimus and Aurora, and nobody's takin' it seriously! How're we supposed ta rescue Optimus with all the other Preds around if half of you get yerselves injured or killed?"
She closed her optics, reopening them with a bowed head and spoke with an apologetic and soft voice, "Rattrap, what happened out there, I take full responsibility for, especially the circumstances surrounding Aurora's injuries. I wanted to help Nemesis. I wanted to face the shapeshifter. I had good intentions, but my intent led to one of own nearly paying the price. That is inexcusable. I also never meant to disrespect your command. By leaving, I was followed by those who wanted to protect me. As well as Aurora, who didn't want me to go. I was the one who caused these chain events. You are a fine leader, Rattrap, and by my actions, I not only have I put more on you, I hurt Optimus. And I'm sorry."

She unbowed her head, "Though, I don't know how this may help us, but I wanted to tell you that the shapeshifter... he may not just be here to join the Predacons in this war. I think he may be here for a purpose that is still undetermined. I have no doubt in my mind that it was he who shot Aurora. When he shot her, though, the other Predacons retreated. They could have taken the chance to kill me when I was vulnerable, but they did not. The actions of the shapeshifter... threw them off. Whatever purpose he is here to achieve, I believe he could just be using the Predacons as a means to an end. But with no more knowledge of him, that can be incorrect. The only thing I can be certain is that... I can see through his facade. He can't hide from me."

Closing her optics, she made another check on Optimus. He seemed not as bad as she felt him before, but there was still injuries that could only be truly healed when he comes back here to them. She kept feeling through the small thin layers of what she could still get from Optimus. He was still tired. Too exhausted. Despite the events that threw her off in emotional waves, she apologized through the connection. She needed to do what she could to help him even now. She concentrated on the green meadow. All she could imagine was him laying there and her laying right next to him. Try as they might, they can't and will never take you away from us.

(ooc: Great posts, guys! Well, our new internet is up and running. So far so good!)
"I'm going to have to extract the bullet, alright? So lay still and just relax. Cheetor is here and he'll hold your hand in comfort,"
Aurora did her best to stay still as Rhinox made his appears. The giant moved slowly and carefully, almost surprisingly so, and he was very thorough as he went to work on removing the shrapnel still embedded in her spark. It didn't hurt, exactly, but there were times when she could feel the instruments moving about inside. It was a tingling sensation of sorts, one that made it very difficult for her to keep from moving. Cheetor's presence did help a bit though. She didn't really know the cheetah very well, seemingly never having the opportunity to hang around him much. Maybe she should when all of this was over. He was the other team member closest to her own age after all. Although she still didn't quite understand what he had been doing on the exploration ship Axalon in the first place. She'd read the records on how the ship had crashed on this planet while pursuing Megatron, but not much about what the original intent of their mission had been..
"Cheetor, keep an eye on her vitals,"
The fuzor sighed, a faint gasp of a sigh, but still she was feeling just a little bit stronger by the minute. She no longer had to fight as hard to stay awake anymore. If only this surgery wouldn't take so long. She was tired and quite desperate for some rest. And still her biggest concern was getting Optimus back so hopefully they would clear her to be a part of the rescue mission after the repairs were done.

A pulling sensation caused her to twitch, if even a little in the state she was in. Her optics widened and brightened ever so slightly as she eyed the bullet Rhinox so gingerly pulled out of her. That thing had been lodged in her spark? No wonder she'd felt so weak..
"There are fragments scattered inside, dangerously close to your spark, Aurora. I'll have to retrieve those as well so hang in there with me."
Aurora listened to the engineer-turned-medic's warning but she wasn't too worried. She had complete faith in the larger male's abilities and..

A noise startled her, the sound of Ironclaw returning. The badger looked at her, she could sense it, but she didn't make any effort to move her head so that she could return his gaze. He didn't speak, merely stood there for a long moment before moving away. What was going on with him..?
"Very well, best to keep things simple, continue on your way to the brig, I shall be reestablishing communications with the maximals now, they're probably besides themselves wondering if they made a mistake cutting me off earlier, mahahaha!"
A trace of a smile spread across Nexus' weathered frame, yet it was dropped in an instant as the shapeshifter got into character. His pose tilted forward, making him look like the elderly defeated bot he was impersonating, and parts of his armor shimmered for a moment as more gross details of physical abuse appeared in their place. One optic cracked, the other missing entirely with only a faint yellow light visible in the eye socket. Dents, lacerations, and some of the armor plating appearing broken beyond repair, circuitry clearly visible from his one limp arm, and his gait weak and his legs barely shuffling forward as he moved.

Perfect.

Nexus allowed his captors to support him between them as they brought him back to the brig, hauling him between them. His one cracked but still functioning optic fell upon Optimus, still laying on the floor in a pool of his own mech fluids, a defeated groan escaping his quivering lips as they hauled him inside.

"Monsters..," he whispered, sounding truly drained, "Do what you will to me but leave Primal alone.."

((OOC: Sorry for my absence. Crazy few days.))
Well, it's nice to see your alive professor..You've been unaccounted for so long I was assuming the Maximals had destroyed you. Pardon my lack of introduction, My name is Umbra.
Sonar chuckled and shook his head. "It take more then a few soft sparked Maximals to destroy me."
Ah no, I didn't get orders for a hit on you yet..If I did, well.. you know. As for paranoid.. Honestly I think the crew is more paranoid then Lord Megatron.. after all, you did make a meal out of two of the arthropods.
Sonar raised an eye brow in mild surprise. Well, that's an interesting turn of events.
When I first came upon your group, I happened to read through the crew and enemy data recorded by your former colleague.. Though your profile had certain things that didn't add up.. So, rather then ask what you are miss Starshadow, I want to know what your objective is because everyone has a motive. As for the reward.. prolonging your life and a canteen of energon seems like a fair bargain.. Don't you agree? I'm not sure how long a vampire can live on this stuff, but the average cybertronian being frugal could last 3 weeks..Probably enough time to make a headstone for Lady Cecaelia.
"Seriously? I go missing and miss out on some possibly entertaining events." The bat muttered with a huff.
Alternatively, if you don't wish to speak.. then I'll just haul you in. Those are your options.
Sonar kept his mouth shut, knowing that if he opened his mouth, Starshadow would most likely try to rip his head off. Fortunately for him, Starshadow took off into the woods, leave it to her self preservation instinct to kick in. He watched as Umbra took off after her.

Good luck. Catching her, fish face. He thought with a smirk then continued on his way to the Darksyde.

(( OOC: Had a lot to cover here. I hope I didn't miss anything. I'm trying to push us into the direction of getting the rescue/exchange underway because I don't know about everyone else, but I'm anxious to get out of the base and kick some butt! Haha ))
"Doesn't it, though?"
No, Optimus thought. He felt a little cold now, a lot of his injuries throbbing, his entire body aching and begging for repairs.
"What do you see Cybertron as? Is it as peaceful as you thought it was or has your perception changed?"
What an odd inquiry to be asking him at this point of his demise. Blackarachnia couldn't have possibly cared what he thought of Cybertron. Was this a trick question? Or was she just making small talk in an attempt to keep him awake? It did make him ponder, however. Cybertron was his home as well as her's even if she didn't remember. ...At least it used to be. It had its beauty and its shadows. But with as much time as he had spent on Earth now with his fellow Maximals, he felt like this was his home. It was organic, breathtaking, and dangerous. He admired it and loved it. The different climates, the weather, the clean air, the inhabitants, the plant life. This was a scientist's dream come true; to investigate and explore the infamous blue planet untouched yet by humans. Shifting his memories back to Cybertron, Primal's home planet suddenly seemed a lot colder, darker, metallic, and electronic. Fighting, drunks, screaming in dark alleys, whispers, subtle negativity, oppression. His perception had indeed changed since he landed here. The first word he let slip painfully out of his busted mouth to answer the widow was, "Corrupted." No, he wasn't blind to the dark politics and agendas that were ruining and rising behind the scenes as many might have presumed he was. Not anymore. "What do you... imagine it... to be...?" he asked her.
"Enough energon to make sure you don't die on me." "Don't take that that the wrong way, Maximal."
The Maximal leader barely felt the tube's attachment to his arm, but the flow of the energon made him warmer inside. He didn't move or look at her, he laid there still and quiet.
"With a little energon, he would be stable enough."
He wanted to be. He wanted to speak to his Maximals again. Just one more time.
Optimus...
The beaten Commander felt Whitegrazer... at least he thought he did. He was wavering between reality and hallucinations. Perhaps the virus was creeping back up on him? Or was it just the fatigue and lack of energy? The energon Blackarachnia fed to him started to make the nanogel glow a little on his chest again, the tiny robots squirming and frittering. It seemed they were enjoying the energy just as much as he was but their activeness wouldn't last long.
I know I can be stubborn at times. And despite my experience and age, even I... am not immune to learning a lesson. Or two.
Honestly, he had no idea what the mare was talking about. He simply couldn't concentrate on their bond while he focused as much as he could on just staying awake. The visuals she sent were much easier; a flicker of her and him on the green meadow, absorbing the sunlight, the swaying grass, and the chirping birds. It calmed him, and he briefly forgot about his pain and torn body. Through that, however, he was certain he felt confusion and guilt from her. He didn't know why. From her past? Recent events? Both?
Try as they might, they can't and will never take you away from us.
No... But they have... taken all of you... from me, Optimus sent Whitegrazer. Had he meant it figuratively? It was hard to read the true meaning behind his words. There was still some lingering sorrow for Aurora despite knowing that she was going to be all right. Sorrow for her having to deal with such pain. He had no idea what it might to do her in the long run, especially having lost Icebreaker in a similar fashion. Primal was physically defeated, but his spirit remained strong for her and Whitegrazer and his entire crew. Megatron would never be able to break that. Never. ...Right?

He heard some noises and voices. A familiar voice. Nexus? Optimus slowly turned his head to see his mentor enter the brig once more. He was still alive! ...But had obviously withstood a similar torture treatment as he had.
"Monsters..," "Do what you will to me but leave Primal alone.."
Another tear rolled down his cheek from his functioning optic sensor. Not for what he said or because of the anguish and injuries that Nexus had sustained which were clearly substantial and Optimus could relate to, but because he finally saw a familiar face that he thought he might have lost. And physically, he wasn't alone in the brig anymore. It was a tremendous feeling for him. He wanted to reach for his teacher but he couldn't. His and Megatron's liquids - but mostly his own - were slowly drying and coagulating on him, underneath him in the pool of his lost energon, and the mess around his mouth and slashed lip.

-----
Before you said "get ready for combat" to all of us, Banshee and I headed out to do that until you popped out with new orders unless my audios are goin'. To be honest, I don't exactly know what "get ready for combat" means..
"What do ya mean you don't know what it means?! You-! It-! Wha-!" Rattrap stammered over his words in disbelief until he realized that Landslide wasn't technically a soldier or of military background. He sighed and calmed himself. "It means lock an' load and be ready at my command ta move out."
As fer Rhinox.. I didn't even know he was even with Sonar since I was told earlier to avoid being around the infected so I stayed outside the Medical bay. If you wanted me to guard im' then you should of told me that earlier.
Rattrap gave the beetle a dismissive wave half through his explanation. "I didn't mean you, exactly. Whoever was already around him, like, uh, Whitegrazer and Aurora, an' maybe Ironclaw since he was followin' everybody around like a lost puppy."
An Aurora.. I assume the lass went out to stop Grazer.. Then next thing we know Grazer is sittin out defenseless far from base an' the kid takes a fragment round to the gut. I flew in to lay cover and patched her up so she wouldn't bleed out before she could get treatment an' Grazer used that experimental stuff Aurora was showing off earlier on her..
THAT was the part he wanted to get to. "Okay. All right. You did good, Landslide. You an' Cheetor, I saw you guys react and protect 'em. Now, what experimental stuff?"
"thanks again."
The Spy glanced at Banshee, disappointed with her simply coat-tailing Landslide's answers instead of explaining herself, although he imagined she'd tell him that she saw her comrades were in trouble and she's just decided to jump in and help them without any plan or back-up. Primus, help us, he whined.
"Rattrap, what happened out there, I take full responsibility for, especially the circumstances surrounding Aurora's injuries. I wanted to help Nemesis. I wanted to face the shapeshifter. I had good intentions, but my intent led to one of own nearly paying the price. That is inexcusable. I also never meant to disrespect your command. You are a fine leader, Rattrap, and by my actions, I not only have I put more on you, I hurt Optimus. And I'm sorry."
"Apologies don't mean slag ta me unless you learned your lesson," the TransMetal rat bluntly pointed out. "I can't believe you'd do that, 'Grazer, just waltz on out dere, lay down a picnic blanket and meditate when you knew dere was trouble on the horizon and you were supposed ta be keepin' an eye on Nemesis and Darkwind! You didn't think nobody else would follow ya out dere?" Rattrap stopped his rant, obviously angry with the white equine but he realized that it wasn't going to change anything. "This better not happen again," he told her, enforcing his eye contact with her. They were so lucky, so very lucky, that Aurora had survived. To know that she got hurt because Whitegrazer had gone out there and sat in the open, it infuriated him. The Fuzor was like a niece to him, and he'd do anything to protect her.
"Though, I don't know how this may help us, but I wanted to tell you that the shapeshifter... he may not just be here to join the Predacons in this war. The only thing I can be certain is that... I can see through his facade. He can't hide from me."
"Well, a lotta good that does us, Whitegrazer," Rattrap said sarcastically since it sounded like they still hadn't learned anything from Darkwind even after all they went through and Aurora getting shot. Then he paused and seemed to be thoughtful for a moment, recalling his conversation with Megatron who always chose his manipulative words wisely. "Maybe... Maybe you were still the intended target but dey used Aurora. Maybe they have suspicions about you an' Optimus and dey were lookin' for proof. Did you 'tell' Optimus what happened?" Still, what did it matter? If they found out about their link, so what? Both Whitegrazer and Optimus were prepared for the possible consequences of their relationship and bond and would never allow it to be taken advantage of against the rest of the Maximals.
"I'll do it because he's a Maximal"
Rattrap watched Ironclaw closely as he loomed over Aurora's body while Rhinox worked diligently to fix her, folding his arms over his still damaged chest. "So noble of you," he said sarcastically knowing how much the badger always butted heads with their fearless leader. Ironclaw almost seemed embarrassed to say it with his voice being so quiet.
"I'll help you get Optimus back. But we do it my way"
"Uh, not if your way will end up gettin' Optimus killed," he said firmly. This was going to be such a risky operation, he really had a difficult time entrusting Ironclaw with anything about the plan. Although, if Optimus was as damaged as Whitegrazer claimed he was, he'd likely need to be carried from the Preds to Landslide, and Ironclaw had both the strength to carry their leader and the armor to take hits for him as a shield should the Predacons open fire behind his back. As that thoughtful gaze crossed his face again, he finally said to the honey badger, "All right, tough guy, I'm open fer suggestions. Gimme a pitch." He was, after all, curious to see what he'd come up with.

As always, the inevitable interruption came about when Rattrap's comm. link beeped for radio transmission alert and he sprung into action. "Hold dat thought. Everybody clear out of the med lab so Rhinox can concentrate. I gotta take dis call. Whitegrazer, come with me." With that, he hurried out of the room, down the corridor and into the bridge, leaping into the console's chair and taking a breath to gather himself before accepting the Darksyde's call.
"Ah, neighbors! Glad to see you're still at home, I was worried something had gone amiss with your communications array when we were tragically cut off from each other earlier. I do hope nothing of importance was lost, I think maximals and predacons alike can all attest to how bitter that feeling can be, yyyesssss."
Rattrap gave Megatron as real a grin as he could to annoy him. "Yeah, uh, oh, so sorry about that. You know, technical difficulties and such. I think one of yer Preds hit an antenna on our ship. Uhhh, nope. The only thing we lost was yer ugly mug but nobody was complaining," the rodent casually shrugged, knowing full well what he was talking about. "Now, I wanna talk to both of 'em so I know dey're alive. And no funny business." He glanced at Nemesis's beacon on another monitor, watching it gradually heading back in the Axalon's direction. He assumed she lost track of Darkwind or he simply left because he was ordered to. Ordered by Megatron? That tricky bot didn't seem like he could bother with someone else ordering him around. When Whitegrazer would show up in the command center, Rattrap would give her a subtle motion to stay back off camera.
Everything is steady so far.
Rhinox had given a nod without looking at Cheetor while he continued to work, relieved that dangerous procedure was going well so far. And just when things had gone quiet and according to plan, voices suddenly returned to the room and erupted. He immediately stopped moving his hands when his patient moved so he wouldn't accidentally jerk the tools into her life source. He tried hard to ignore the other Maximals and remain focused as he went back to work while the others spouted off their mouths to Rattrap and explained what happened. Poor Rattrap, he was always caught up in the worst of events when Optimus left them to fend for themselves. Still, he thought he was handling it to the best of his ability. Anyway, Rhinox was always there to help him and guide them.

"Please, don't crowd us," Rhinox politely but firmly told Ironclaw without looking at him when he stood close to him, Aurora and Cheetor.
Whatever else you need, just ask.
"I need everyone out of here," he enforced Rattrap's earlier order. He didn't mean that Cheetor had to escort everyone out, he'd rather him stay where he was, so he had said it loud enough for all to hear and he expected them to obey. Aurora obviously wanted Ironclaw around but the badger's short temper made Big Green nervous, so he couldn't afford him to stick around, not while he was working so closely to Aurora's spark.

Later, taking his time, Rhinox continued to carefully grab and pull out the rest of the shrapnel that was in the young Fuzor's spark and its chamber. "That's all of it," he said as he stood back and took off the visor/goggle helmet, setting it and the tools down on the nearby mobile table. "Now, I just need to patch up your chamber and the CR can handle the rest. You're doing great, Aurora," he said with a soft smile. "How are you feeling?" he asked her while he grabbed a very small soldering gun with a precision laser in one hand and a tiny clamp in the other.

Why does no one ever take the easy way?
Starshadow groaned in pain and stood up rubbing her aft, "Funny, why does every mech love hitting my skidplate?" she grabbed a handful of dirt and threw it in his optics then kicked the rifle off his hand, grabbing it.

"Let's see how you like a broken gun ," she swung the gun on a boulder beside her a few times, breaking it before throwing the broken rifle back to him, "stop playing hard-to-get with me," she flew up to the trees and away from Umbra.

Umbra raised his left and a tentacle arm blocking the dirt as she snatched his rifle, he'd made a mistake allowing himself to be so close in range to her still.
starshadow wrote:"Let's see how you like a broken gun ,"
his tentacle caught the gun as his hip compartments opened drawing two demo charges and quickly squeezing them twice.
starshadow wrote:"stop playing hard-to-get with me,"
looked up as she started to fly up and threw the two demo charges up after her as he pushed himself backwards with his tentacles to get out of the way for what was to come.

As the demo charges went up, their two second timer went off, causing two explosions on either side of Starshadow in an attempt to knock her out of the air from their blast radius, branches from trees crashing down to the ground from. Umbra's leg compartments closed as he then observed the outcome.

Some sort of Nano machine gel for use in repairs. he then responded, he then observe as Rattrap reprimanded Whitegrazer and then follow Ironclaw off towards the Medical bay, though Landslide stayed in the cargobay as he assumed he probably wouldn't be needed until asked.

Starshadow cried out in shock and pain from the blast that sent her far to the left, her back slamming hard on a tall tree and broke branches while falling, landing hard on the ground. She could hear sparks emitting out from her thrusters, must have been badly damaged due to the explosion. She also noticed the energy indicator that was located in the middle of her chest flickering its dim light. "System check...energy levels..?"

RED AT 25 PERCENT. RECHARGE REQUIRED.

"Ughh..." she coughed out smoke and mech fluid before speaking again, "Encryption progress..?"

85 PERCENT. TIME LEFT TO COMPLETE ENCRYPTION, 5 CYCLES.

Not sure if it was good news or bad news, Starshadow slowly crawled towards another tree, hiding behind the bushes and leaned against the giant trunk, panting heavily. There was no way she could outrun him. Damaged thrusters, a few broken parts in her body, what's next? An empty spark chamber? The catbot looked up to the skies, finally giving up on running.

Megatron wanted to reach through the screen and pluck the rodent's buck teeth from his mouth and shove them down his throat for his remarks, but instead returned the rat's grin so as not to give him the satisfaction of his ire and said "Glad to hear all is well, I am all too happy to allow you a chance to speak with your friends, you have much to catch up on, I'm sure. Do keep in mind however the price of your long distance call shall be two, mint condition golden disks, onscreen, where I may see them, yyyessss."

With that, Megatron made a motion with his hand to Tarantulas offscreen to open up communications, audio feed only of course, to the brig, so the maximals could have their little online chat with Optimus and Nexus.

"Oh Optimus, Nexus, I do hate to disturb you two, I know you must be enjoying your alone time together profusely, but you have a call waiting, some buck toothed yokel wants a word with you. Speak up, he can hear you, though you may want to be quick, I fear your caller might be too cheap to afford a very lengthy discussion, nnnnoooo" Megatron mused, lacing his friendly words and mannerisms with his trademark hint of subtle menace.

The predacons in the control room all snickered at their leader's words, love him or hate him, Megatron knew how to stick it to the maximals where it hurt, and not a single pred present failed to enjoy a maximal's suffering.

"Ehehehehe, things are getting good now, eh Wasp?" Terrorsaur snickered at his insectoid partner, as Tarantulas pondered what his own actions would be should the exchange work out and the golden disks suddenly became available again.

"Its all on you now Megatron, vermin, you decide today which variables of this war remain in play and which are lost forever, Primal or the Golden Disks, either or, this little discussion's outcome changes everything" Tarantulas mused inwardly, wondering if today the maximals would sacrifice primal to keep the disks out of Megatron's grasp or if they would surrender them to save their leader, forcing the Tripredacus Agent to take actions of his own to ensure Megatron would not be able to turn the disks awesome power against his leaders back home.

Umbra observed the trail in the air as Starshadow came back down to the ground. He shook his head and walked in the direction of her crash, soon coming upon a noticeable trail of Starshadow's unusual mech fluid on the ground leading to a bush.

He wrapped his tentacles around a near by tree trunk lifting himself into the air, observing Star on the ground resting against a tree, the look on her face said it all. The octopus let out a sigh shaking his head as he then came down next to her. ... Lets get you fixed.. he extended a few of his tentacles, coiling and gripping her with the hundreds of suction cups he then lifted her off the ground, carrying her to the side. One of his tentacles coiling around her head and under her jaw to prevent her face from splitting open, or giving chance to bite him.

He then turned and started to make his way back towards the Predacon base, as he moved the eye on one of his legs seemed to stare at Star the entire time to observe her actions, though he wasn't too worried, as each limb was fairly strong and more then capable of holding her in her best condition, injured and drained, she wouldn't be able to give much of a struggle.

Soon exiting the forest and into the badlands between the Maximal and Predacon territory, Umbra stopped and observed the terrain for the moment, then continued on course to the Predacon base.

Terrorsaur wrote:"Ehehehehe, things are getting good now, eh Wasp?"

Waspinator looked up from his console Hehehe, Yeszz! he responded, then looked towards the console as he noticed Umbra coming in. Ninjabot bring back.. Va-Va-Vampire bot?! he shuddered in horror.

Walking into the ship, Umbra came to a stop near the gathering of others as he observed Megatron on call with the Maximals. He stayed out of view of the call camera as he made his way towards Terrorsaur What's the situation? he asked quietly.

((OOC: Sorry for the delay everyone. I just want to make sure, did Megatron agree that Night Terror could take one of the bots hanging around? Right now I am assuming he did. If not, I can easily edit my post. Since there has not been much for Quickstrike in a while, I guess I would get him.))

Night Terror grunted as he went sliding across the floor. He picked himself up and bowed his head in the direction of Megatron. He actually felt lucky. His old commanders would have likely killed him for such a failure. He was not too happy with the fact that Megatron did not want to use him for his expertise, but he could not blame him for that either. It would be strategically unwise to trust any new Predacon who just appears and says he is loyal. Perhaps Megatron is not as foolish as the Council claimed.

"Thank you my lord. You, Quickstrike is it? Come. We need to escort our prisoner to the brig." He said then moved to join Nexus.

He saw his comrade looking over the footage of Primal. The bat realized very quickly that Zodiac was looking for a reaction to his own actions in the field. Night Terror watched too. He wanted to see exactly if Zodiac's actions were justified. He watched as Optimus screamed in anger and pain. He looked at the beaten and nearly destroyed form of the Maximal commander. Night Terror did not like torture very much. An opinion very few of his fellow Predacons shared. He will admit though, to a small warm feeling at seeing a Maximal, the bots who have oppressed his fellow Predacons, suffer.

"It looks as though you were right old friend. I still think we should have eliminated the other side of the link, but this may prove useful. Shall we?" Night Terror said with a toothy smile and gestured towards the cell.

Night Terror escorted his prisoner to the brig. As he got closer to the cells, he began to shove Zodiac in the right direction. He had to make it look real. He pushed Nexus through the door roughly. He knew Zodiac could take the damage easily. Then again he may have just been relieving some of the aggravation that this bot has caused him.
Nexus said: "Monsters..," he whispered, sounding truly drained, "Do what you will to me but leave Primal alone.."
"Silence, you laughable excuse of a soldier! How you achieved the rank of admiral, I will never know." Night Terror said with disgust.
Megatron said: "Oh Optimus, Nexus, I do hate to disturb you two, I know you must be enjoying your alone time together profusely, but you have a call waiting, some buck toothed yokel wants a word with you. Speak up, he can hear you, though you may want to be quick, I fear your caller might be too cheap to afford a very lengthy discussion, nnnnoooo"
Night Terror smiled. Megatron did have a way with words. Something he appreciated.

((OOC: Weren't we all still at the hanger, though? I mean... I know Ironclaw went to the medbay, but not everyone else? :? ))
Optimal Optimus Primal wrote:"Apologies don't mean slag ta me unless you learned your lesson,""I can't believe you'd do that, 'Grazer, just waltz on out dere, lay down a picnic blanket and meditate when you knew dere was trouble on the horizon and you were supposed ta be keepin' an eye on Nemesis and Darkwind! You didn't think nobody else would follow ya out dere?""This better not happen again,"
She took the heat from Rattrap and nodded solemnly, "It won't." Rattrap cared for Aurora. His anger towards her would be the anger she would have expressed as well. But she couldn't. Wouldn't.
Optimal Optimus Primal wrote:"Well, a lotta good that does us, Whitegrazer," "Maybe... Maybe you were still the intended target but dey used Aurora. Maybe they have suspicions about you an' Optimus and dey were lookin' for proof. Did you 'tell' Optimus what happened?"
"Maybe it doesn't seem helpful, but the emotional state and actions always show character. Like it or not, the shapeshifter showed more to us than he thinks. Also, I'm sure Nemesis has more details to give us," despite her sorrow and guilt over what happened to Aurora and her own failures, she won't let what transpired be for nothing and she would keep herself optimistic among everything. "The shapeshifter used Aurora because he knew of how much Optimus and I, all of us cared about her. Optimus... The shapeshifter pretended to be Aurora and when I relied to Optimus it wasn't her, that's when they suspected something. Though, he was trying to hide it from them. I don't think Megatron brought it. They have their proof now." She remembered when that happened. The only way that shapeshifter could have known...
Optimal Optimus Primal wrote:No... But they have... taken all of you... from me,
She shook her head sadly. You will soon be with us again, Optimus. The green meadow seemed to be the only place she could have a little bit of peace. She could feel Optimus' thoughts about what happened to Aurora. She nodded her head in agreement and much more. What I said earlier... it is true. I am. I am responsible for what happened to Aurora. I was the intended target due to our link, but it was she... She will survive, but the pain she had suffered, it is because of my actions. I must atone for that. As well as everyone else's. Including yours. She knew Optimus didn't know what she is referring to, but she was forced to silence. For many reasons. I know why I'm part of another war. Reaching out towards Optimus' face for her hand to gently caress, she just smiled.

It was then she felt many bugs crawl on her.
Optimal Optimus Primal wrote: Whitegrazer, come with me."
She threw her attention back to Rattrap. Those bugs... nanobots. The shapeshifter was close to Optimus. She knew it. She felt it. She followed Rattrap towards the command center.
As she was about to go inside, Rattrap made a gesture. She did as she was told. Kept herself out of sight. What Megatron was saying, no doubt he was told of the events. They probably thought they killed another maximal. Well, they were wrong. They didn't claim a life today.
Optimal Optimus Primal wrote:"Yeah, uh, oh, so sorry about that. And no funny business."
She closed her optics. She wanted to hear this.

***
Optimal Optimus Primal wrote:"Corrupted." No, he wasn't blind to the dark politics and agendas that were ruining and rising behind the scenes as many might have presumed he was. Not anymore. "What do you... imagine it... to be...?"
Blackarachnia smirked, putting her pinchers on her hips, "Really? Well, at least, you have sense." When he asked her what she imagined it to be, she remained silent. Cybertron. Why did she want to go there? If she escaped this organic planet, that's the only place she would be familiar with. Why would she want to go there? It's not like she didn't know that she would either have to force her way into the ranks of Predacon criminal organizations just like she had to try and fit in here with the Predacons who were stranded. Would it be so different? Why live in a lie when here in this so-called Beast Wars was the truth that Cybertron tried to hid.

"Slavery."

Why was she talking to this big ape? Why?

It was then that the new Predacon recruit, Night Terror, brought in Nexus, who she knew wasn't.
"Monsters..," he whispered, sounding truly drained, "Do what you will to me but leave Primal alone.."
She had to admit. That shapeshifter was a good actor. Though, despite the fact that he was one of them, something about her wanetd her to do nothing more than to kill him. For her own protection. But she couldn't. Not unless she wanted Megatron to come after her.
"Oh Optimus, Nexus, I do hate to disturb you two, I know you must be enjoying your alone time together profusely, but you have a call waiting, some buck toothed yokel wants a word with you. Speak up, he can hear you, though you may want to be quick, I fear your caller might be too cheap to afford a very lengthy discussion, nnnnoooo"
Blackarachnia looked at Optimus, "Better make your words count." This might be the last time he spoke to his Maximals before they slaughtered him and his Maximals. She hoped it wasn't too mushy, though. She hated mush.

(( OOC:  If I recall correctly, Ironclaw was on his way to the hangar and I think most of us assumed that's where he went even though, technically, Mystrea never actually said he made it there; I think NK just assumed he did when he had Landslide confront him and Whitegrazer. So Ironclaw immediately came back to the med bay and seemed to have rallied everyone there instead. I just played along with it hoping no one would notice too much and avoid the confusion. ))

A weary, tired and cracked optic settled on Optimus, the normally stout facial expression on the admiral softening ever so slightly. The younger Maximal shed a tear, a single drop trailing down his cheek. It could have been from pure exhaustion, of course, but when accompanied by that look of relief on Primal's face it's true nature became blatantly clear.

Oh how sentimental these Maximals could be. Eternally weak creatures bound by their honor and their love for each other. It was a life Zodiac had gotten to experience often during his many undercover missions, but no matter how many times he saw it happen he still could not understand. He simply attributed it to a weakness in the Maximal core programming, one he himself fortunately lacked, but he had still gotten very good at pretending he had it.
"Silence, you laughable excuse of a soldier! How you achieved the rank of admiral, I will never know."
A forceful shove from his longtime friend-now-captor caused his knees to buckle, sending the old soldier crashing onto the floor. Nexus let out a groan, staying down for a few moments for effect. He certainly didn't have to look at Optimus to know that his pupil wanted to scream out for him. If he wasn't so damaged, Optimus would surely have lunged at Night Terror in a futile attempt to save whom he believed was his commanding officer. Ah yes, he certainly had done his homework before taking on this role but it was also helpful that Primal was so pitifully predictable; the epiphany of the Maximal spirit.

Slowly he rolled onto his side, coughing as he did, his one functional optic radiating defiance as it met with Night Terror's. He sounded even weaker when he spoke, the words coming out in pained gasps to further tug at their witness' spark strings.

"And.. such ignorance.. is why.. you shall never.. have such a title.. bestowed.. upon you."

He managed to hold back a teasing wink, if barely. The target here was Optimus, but Zodiac was certainly not above using others to achieve his goal. Primal was in bad shape, but the shapeshifter was relieved that he was still awake. After all they still needed to break him, not just physically but mentally as well. It was the only way to truly conquer someone.
His face grimaced in anger when Megatron's voice suddenly appeared, apparently revitalizing the old warrior a bit.

"Afraid to show.. your face.. Megatron? Surely .. you must be.. for sending.. your lackeys.. to do.. your dirty-work .. for you.."

Defiance lingering in every word, proving once and for all that the Maximal spirit couldn't be crushed. Well.. at least that's what the pretender intended to relay, knowing full-well that is how the real Nexus Prime would have acted.. how he had acted to the very end.
"I need everyone out of here,"
Aurora dimmed her optics, the bright lights in the room blinding her a bit. She felt dizzy and perhaps a little queasy, which really wasn't unexpected at all given the fluid loss she had suffered. And all of a sudden the medical lab was literally overflowing with voices, the other Maximals having followed Ironclaw in here. Aurora swallowed and tried to ignore them, difficult as such a thing was, allowing Rhinox what he needed to finish his work.

As she lay there, optics dimmed, she felt herself drifting in and out of consciousness a few times, her body and mind alike being so tired to the point of wanting to shut down. No.. She couldn't let it.. Still so very tired.. So much so that she only caught parts of what Rhinox said next.
"..all of.."
".. patch up.. CR .. rest. .. doing great.."
She tried to fight the drowsiness off, but having already overexerted herself to stay awake thus far it was hard not to drift. Now that she was in no immediate danger anymore, a restful calmness had come down on her. She was in no pain, just more sleepy than she'd ever been.
"How are you feeling?"
"Exhausted..," she admitted earnestly. She really couldn't wait to sleep. The CR chamber had never sounded better.

In the meanwhile Nemesis had wandered back into the base, bypassing the bridge due to how crowded it was, and made her way back to the medical bay. She remained in the opening of the door, watching in silence as Rhinox finished working on Aurora.

"I knew you could do it," the fuzor continued to Rhinox with a slight smile, still unaware of their guest watching them. Then, as if suddenly realizing something, she sat up rapidly with a startled look on her face. "Whitegrazer.. is she okay? They didn't shoot her too, did they?"

"There was no need to," came the unexpected response from across the room. Aurora's optics, now fully back on again, darted across the room until they settled on the winged female. "Make no mistake. That bullet hit its intended target."

How reassuring, Aurora thought, but the confusion must have been evident on her face because Nemesis continued.

"Attacking you was merely the method he chose to reveal the connection between Primal and Whitegrazer. What you should be worrying about is how he plans to use this knowledge to his advantage. And rest assured.. he will. That's how he operates."

Sonar once more took to the sky, he smirked when he caught sight of the Predacon ship. His home away from home. He used a thermal to guide him closer to the downed ship. He folded his wings a few minutes later and went into a shallow dive, then transformed and landed on his feet. His wings folded around him like a cloak as he made his way into the ship, as he went deeper, he soon heard Megatron's voice and his spark quickened, he would have to tred carefully and choose his words wisely.

He took a calming breath before entering the main room and spotted Megatron and his followers. He even spotted the new guy from earlier, he decided to remain silent. He would let himself be known when the time was right.
