Just to let everyone know, I edited Arachnitron's profile. There's nothing new, I just realized while looking over some posts that I've really been writing the personalities of the Maximal and Hybrid different than was explained in the bio. It was explained in the original profile that the Maximal was the one that was the most unstable, but upon further reflection, I decided to rescind that. It makes more sense the way I've been doing it. So I just switched them so that it would reflect how I've been playing her. I also wrote each of her alters strengths and weaknesses up separate from Arachnitron's physical abilities/weaknesses. This way when the Hybrid makes revelations, you all can more easily understand where she's coming from....
This is the part I edited:
ARACHNITRON'S ALTERS:
PREDACON- STRENGTHS: The Predacon programming is independent, confident, cunning, vicious and manipulative. She is brave in battle and much more aggressive than the other two alters.
PREDACON- WEAKNESSES: The Predacon programming is defiant and stubborn to a fault. She often underestimates her opponents. She is childish and petty and has quite a temper. Her anger and hatred is sometimes uncontrollable. She is unwilling to share the body with the other personalities and this is often damaging to the body itself.
In this state, her optic coloring changes to red.
MAXIMAL- STRENGTHS: The Maximal programming is loyal and docile. She is also amiable and much more friendly than the other two personalities. She wants what is best for the body itself and is willing to work with the Predacon though she knows it will be a trying task.
MAXIMAL-WEAKNESSES: With the Maximal in control, Arachnitron suffers from heightened fear and anxiety levels. She often finds it difficult to handle stressful situations. She is overly cautious and is the least likely of the three to take risks even ones that may be helpful to her and her alters.
With this personality in control, her optics are green.
HYBRID- STRENGTHS: The Hybrid is a mixture of the other two personalities. Like the Predacon, she is courageous and strong-willed. Like the Maximal, she is loyal and docile.
HYBRID- WEAKNESSES: The Hybrid is cold, withdrawn and anti-social. She rarely interacts with others. She is almost always in a constant state of confusion. This personality often experiences memory loss as well. She has low self-esteem and self-worth. She often finds it hard to pick a side; and thus, often lets one of the other personalities dictate her actions. Because of the constant battle between the other two personalities, this personality is the least stable...prone to drastic changes in mood and desires (a sort of bi-polar type disorder) and forever in great pain and physical exhaustion. She is extremely naive and easy to manipulate.
Towards the end of season 1, the Hybrid, driven by her desperation to alleviate the mental anguish and confusion, decides to help Tarantulas in exchange for his inserting an inhibitor chip that would block the influence of the Maximal and Predacon programming.
With the Hybrid in control, her optics are green.
"THE RAGE" Another side effect of the gene manipulation is a zombie like state she refers to as “the rage.” In this state Arachnitron is blind, mute, and deaf. She has no control of her actions and often causes unspeakable damage to her surroundings. This is a rare occurrence having little to do with actual emotions. It is more of a result of an overload in her core processor which attempts to reset itself. This is less of a personality and more a programming glitch.

Heh, so two of the forms have same optic color? Should be good to know if I do more art.
Hmm.. the personalities strangely do remind me besides the Xenogears reference, a story called Change 1 2 3. It was about a girl that was born under unusual circumstances and ended up trained under three martial artists which she claims as her fathers. She ends up with a personality disorder which triggered under stress, with each personality "Hibiki", "Fujiko", and "Mikiri" (Or in one of the systems for counting in japanese.. Hi=1 Fu=2 Mi=3) has a different martial arts style based on Hard techniques, soft techniques, and throwing techniques. These changes would physically reflect in her body even changing somewhat. She also has a final personality known as "Zero" which only surfaces a few times as a murderous form, combining the fighting skills of all and lashing out at anything near her. Eventually this Zero personality would be the first to be merged, allowing the other personalities to combine as a form of controlled aggression.
In the end, her personality disorder was cured by love, as each side of her fell for the other protagonist of the series fusing the personalities into the main one.
Though in reference to the cure.. I doubt Arachnitron would be cured that way.

Haha! Yeah, I also change the font color so that I don't have to keep writing, "the Predacon said this," "the Maximal said this," etc. It's much easier in scenes where the three personalities talk to each other too.

Hmm...interesting...it is remarkably similar.....

Hmmm....interesting idea. Yeah, it doesn't seem like an appropriate cure in this case. But don't let that stop anybody from trying!

I have to make some changes to Scaleblade's transmetal mods and stats.
For a long time I've always had some sort of a reference to motorcycles or two-wheeled motorized things in a lot of her forms in various universes. I've always thought they were awesome, but not so much anymore. A couple of days ago I lost one of my best friends of almost 10 years in a really bad motorcycle accident.
http://www.9wsyr.com/news/local/story/O ... 6Rsrg.cspx
He suffered a trauma induced heart attack at the scene of the accident and had fractured vertebre, broken ribs, blood in his lungs, and a massive brain injury. For the few days he was in a medically induced coma and kept alive by life support machines. The doctors said that even if he could manage to pull through having the life support machines turned off, he would be in a nursing home for the rest of his life. His family decided that it was for the best to let him go and the life support machines were turned off.
I honestly can't look at motorcycles without wanting to vomit and/or have a mental breakdown, which really sucks since the weather is heating up and people are driving them all over town. So I an eliminating them from my life in any way I can. I will never own or ride one. I am removing all artwork I have ever made involving one. And I am altering all of my OC designs to get rid of them.
Scaleblade's original transmetal upgrade featured a motorcycle like mode, similar to Tarantulas'. Now I will be opting for some basic, flight capable jet boosters mounted on her lower back. So here is her updated info:
Designation: Scaleblade
Allegiance: Predicon
Function: Close-Combat Specialist
Alt. Mode: Transmetal Cobra
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 0.630071 metric ton
Age: 1,937,002
Strength: 8
Intelligence: 9
Speed: 8
Endurance: 6
Rank: --
Courage: 7
Firepower: 3
Skill: 9
Weaponry: Doubled heated-blade tonfa, cybervenom tipped claws, various assortment of knives, cybervenom tipped daggers and other close-range weaponry, hand-held blaster.
Transmetal modification: Flight capable jet boosters.
Fighting Style: Talim of Soul Calibur
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6VzDiG5Vyo
Abilities: Lithe, fast, and highly flexible, making for maximum movement on the battlefield and around enemies. Melee combat expert. Extremely charismatic.
Weaknesses: Does not have heavy firepower and must rely on getting close to the enemy to do extreme damage. Light and thin armor cannot sustain many blows. Has severe problems controlling anger once shes set off. Blindly loyal to Megatron.
Personality: Cold, ruthless, manipulative, cunning.

Stats add up fine, I approve the update. We've had a update to how our ranking system works.. so I guess due to her blind loyalty, start her off at a 2 or 3 in rank, she'll probably go up from there.
I'm sorry to hear your loss.

Likewise for loss.
Not fun.
Question; is there a limit to the amount of weapons a character carries in S2? I noticed Scaleblade lists "numerous knives and handheld weapons" but doesn't specify how many or what they are. As is I think the character has 7+ weapons?
Just wondering because I'm making some upgrades to my own characters.

Uh.. There is a weapon limit, but some things are usually ignored. Claws are usually free on nearly anyone, and the assorted knives are usually an accessory item which we don't really have much of a limit to, since they're mostly small throwing weapons.. like shuriken and such.
The Blade tonfas count as a weapon, the gun, and the venom tipped daggers as they're specifically different from the throwing knives. Hm.. that puts her up to five main weapons.. I stated having three for transmetals before when I came up with the new stat system, as older normal types usually compensate the loss in stats by carrying extra weapons..(Example:Dinobot, though original Primal also had five weapons, most transmetals including toys only had two to three.) But nobody has followed that guideline, so it seems more of a suggestion at this point.

I'm sorry about your friend too, Scaleblade.
*Scrolls through previous pages*
Hmmm... yeah. A lot of the recently designed characters have four (or more) weapons. I can't remember now if we upped the weapon limit for season two or not, but things seem to have gone beyond three anyways.
So should we make a (new) rule about number of weapons a character can have, or does the limit not matter so much anymore?
And if you have a few ideas, Scaleblade, I'd be interested to know what some of those other close-range weapons are.
I'd go with 3 for a rank (also under the new system).

I was pondering maybe updating it to some form of encumbrance system of sort.. like your strength stat effecting how much you can carry. Though I think alot of players go by G1 subspace for storage..
Edit: Ah. I just remembered.. we also allow people to carry more weapons if they don't have a special ability. Like Steelclaw's Minigun. Though now I guess he could probably own five or more guns since he specifies what he usually brings.. So that could be an option.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys.
As far as Scaleblade's weapons go, I guess I've never really counted them up before. In her normal TF form its just 3, the tonfa, blaster, and knives. Although she has quite the collection of knives/daggers I always just grouped them together since it was the same thing (just a lot of them). I was going to leave it at that for Beast Wars, but someone on here suggested adding cybervenom too. I can leave out the venom-tipped daggers and bring it back down to 4 if that is better. Or leave out the venom all together and stay at 3.
Blazemane wrote:And if you have a few ideas, Scaleblade, I'd be interested to know what some of those other close-range weapons are.
Her close range weapons would be the assortment of knives & daggers, TM bladed tail, and her armor. A lot of places on her armor (like knee plating, elbows, etc.) are pretty sharp. So say she kneed someone in the stomach, it would be like being stabbed. For a while she was covered in spikes as well, but I ditched that and went more streamlined.
Hah. I feel like Scaleblade should come with a disclaimer of being a walking ball of sharp objects.

Okay. So Tonfa but those are used in pairs traditionally and based off your art. (Well.. always used in pairs unless your using a P24 Baton like the police. To be honest I find it easier to use one over the traditional two myself.), knives, and blaster. Claws and body spikes are natural weapons, so we don't count those.
