The Intergalactic Highway

Just reporting in. Um.. other then having a good nights sleep, nothing really happened to me. power didn't go out, water is fine.. wind wasn't even that bad.

Sandy was here and left. Now Worpex and I are in the dark. So far PPL has no estimate of when the power will be back. Have heard absolutely nothing from them nor have we seen anyone working on it. So I don't imagine we will be back on the grid for a while yet. Not sure what OOP's status is as far as power since I haven't been able to get on Facebook to check up on people, but she lives the next county over I think, so I imagine she's probably in the dark too.

Yeah, OOP lost power she said on Facebook.

I almost feel ashamed to say that I was rather disappointed in this storm.. They made such a big stink about how it would wreck havoc around here. Yet it came and passed and we barely even noticed it. A little windy, quite a bit of rain, sure, but it was completely underwhelming compared to what I imagined it would be. We did not lose power. Even a pot with a plant I forgot on the patio was still standing when it was over.

So now we have a ton of instant noodles and canned food since I stocked up believing we'd probably get hit much harder than we were. Hopefully those who did get hit get power back soon and obviously that all is well with them!

INSTANT NOODLES?! GIMME GIMME GIMME! Glad it isn't as bad as what I expected.

Well, I'm glad everyone is okay and I hope your power comes back online, OOP and everyone else. Hurricanes are so unpredictable, but it is better to be prepared than to be caught off-guard.

"HEY YOU GUUUUYS!" One of the last movies I saw before my power went out. Classic film. Anyway, I have returned! I lost power at 9:39 on Monday night and just got it back today, Friday at 11:50am. No work all week (except for four hours on Monday morning before they let us go home early), but that kind of made it worse because I had no where to be warm and charge my electronics. I lost cell service Tuesday morning and my cell phone battery died, too. It was a very boring, cold and dark week but now things are slowly warming back up and I can finally get a shower! Yes, I am a greasy monkey but at least I am not smelly. Unlike last year... eeew. It's good to see everyone again! I have missed you all. I'm so happy to be back. I hope Blackrosefencer is back soon as well. What a Frankenstorm! They certainly nicknamed it right. Not much flooding, that I saw in my area, but the wind was incredible Monday night. Crazy. I will probably work on a post later tonight or tomorrow when my fingers are finally warm enough to stop making so many typos. Thanks, guys! *group hug*

Yep, Blackrosefencer and I have been back since last night! Glad everyone is ok and that most of us are back online!

Yeah, I figured....but for whatever reason, during the power outage, I could not get on facebook mobile to save my life. I guess it had a lot to do with the fact that the landline phones were out so everyone was using their cell phones. A lot of cell phone towers were overworked and catching on fire and some places lost cell phone service completely.

We didn't have much flooding either, but we did have a lot of closed roads due to fallen tree limbs and such. In fact, one tree came down completely on the power lines and detached some of the wires from it. The tree wasn't just resting on the lines, it was lying on the road and took the lines with it. It was pretty cool actually in a "totally in awe of the destructive force of nature" kind of way.

But we are back on the grid and will return to posting shortly!

Hey guys I want to apologize again for taking a long time to post, but despite some easy classes this semester there is much more work to it since well it's college now for me and high school is far behind me. Even if it's online classes still quite a bit of a load for me to work with and is slowing me down, but like I said not as bad as last semester so hopefully in the next day or so I can lighten most of that work since I got a plan to knock out some of it. But anyway thought I ought to give a forewarning.

I hope college is going well for you, Wintersong! And I think we all think that school/family/work/family work/life should come before the role play, so take whatever time you need.

I was trying to get a post out this week but just haven't been able to do so... haven't been home at all the last couple days and i've been busy during lunch break at work.
