Umbra went forward as he was hit by the rolling armbar technique, he put down one knee and two tentacles to hold himself up. He tilted his head slightly Classic move.. but does it work on abnormal anatomy? he stated, it was a move used alot by the cybertronian police for detaining, but it was also used in Cyber Ninja groundwork as well. It was also hard to do as it required precision placement on the upper arm, otherwise the target could just get out of it with pure strength. But in Umbra's case..he had other methods.

One of his lower tentacles then made a sharp swipe to the back of her legs as he forced himself up with his legs and tentacles, he bent his gripped arm swinging it in a backfist towards her face as he fell backwards with her.

He pulled himself away from her with his tentacles righting himself and rubbing his arm a little, before going into a stance slowly walking back and to the right away from the console. If he was a diffusion user, he could of probably attacked from the ground, but he didn't have enough skill to take someone out while on his back.

(If you want to be the Paladin saving the princess, that's fine by me, but I'd ask Una.

Also not come in too late, since Ironclaw will have a bomb to disarm, unless going for the more violent approach of just cutting part of Whitegrazer's back off with claws/laser scalpel. Umbra's already completed his main objective, so he wont be above retreating if Whitegrazer decides to take Ironclaw's help. But if she does, Umbra will not finish the fight seeing it as a dishonorment to the contract established, and just let her blow up. On the other hand.. Whitegrazer may refuse Ironclaw due to her pride as a martial artist. That pride and katsujin ideology she leads could be easily offended by Ironclaw's assistance. )

((OOC: Inferno's missiles aren't heat seeking are they? If they are, I can correct this. Also, you don't seem like you're playing him too strong at all, Blackrosefencer. I don't want him to be easy to get rid of, and the fact that he can stand up to some damage makes him actually seem like... well, a robot. So I like it. And if Cheetor ends up losing here, that would definitely fit this episode well. Not that I really have any plans one way or the other about who wins and who loses, but... yeah, you're good.))
Inferno wrote:You're in my territory now, Maximal.
Some part of Cheetor had wanted to hope that, after he flew off, Inferno would lose interest and look to attack someone else. No such luck; now he was flying for his life. Even then, his processor began considering whether or not there was a way to beat Inferno instead of just running.

"Woh!" Cheetor pitched abruptly to the side as Inferno's rockets first came streaking past him.
Inferno wrote:Welcome to the skies, Cat. Allow me to give you a proper flying lesson!

He heard the sound of the next round of rockets firing off in time to pull up sharply and let them fly underneath him. Then he started speeding up. Even in battle, something about Inferno's tone got under his skin. Just because Inferno had been flying for longer didn't mean he was the better flier. No. Inferno wasn't that fast. Not a chance.

Cheetor's rockets suddenly went to full power and he could feel himself accelerating as he climbed higher and higher. If Inferno wanted to shoot him, he'd have to catch him first.

Rattrap wrote:Lucky for you, Chopper Face, that was just a nice fireworks display I put on ta celebrate the Preds' inevitable victory! Nomad's turrets are down, thanks ta Terrordork. I'll be on the other side of the 'fall shortly.
Dinobot was running away from a bit of cover, and he raised his arm to respond over his comlink. "That's--"

A shot from Arachnitron's energon pistol took him right in the back of the head, and his optical systems had to take a few moments to readjust back to normal again. Stumbling back to another pillar, he tried again.

"That's unfortunate. We will likely be recruited to rebuild the turrets when this is all over," he said, finding the need to contradict Rattrap's pessimistic humor. "A tactically sound move, but work I am not looking forward to..."

Dinobot stole a glance to find his enemies locations--Arachnitron and Tarantulas were still after him, but he had somehow lost sight of Onyx. Preparing his assault rifle, he took another step to get ready to run, but then he froze in place, and an odd mix of caution and anger came over his face. He had almost certainly just heard a mine go off.

"Feline!" he shouted, before realizing he would have to specify. "Cheetor! I told you not to activate the mines yet!"

Cheetor's ears were billowing in the wind, but he still heard Dinobot loud and clear. "Hey, it wasn't me!" he defended over his com-link. He'd have remembered something like that--he had to touch the controls on his arm, and he would know about doing something that deliberate.

...Unless he didn't do it deliberately. The controls were on his left arm, which had fallen off of his shoulder, and which he had needed to catch in his mouth and then hold in his paws. At that moment, Cheetor brought his paws up and looked at the arm between them. ...And there were the buttons for the remote activators, a few of them concealed underneath his teal-colored claws.

"It was me; it was me!"

Dinobot growled in frustration. He looked for Wintersong and found her near the base, albeit contending with one of the Predacons. But he still had not heard from Saber-Fang. Was she out of the field, or wasn't she?

Realizing he could spend no time debating with himself over the matter, he sent another message over com-link. "Wintersong, activate the mines you set. I'm doing the same now. Saber-Fang, if you're still out there, proceed with extreme caution." Dinobot pressed the necessary command into the controls on his own arm and heard a small computerized tone confirming what he'd done. Now the logical thing was to get to the Axalon and work to defend himself, his comrades and the base from there. There was one particular problem, unfortunately. He knew where the mines were that he'd set--not the ones that Cheetor and Wintersong had. But with Tarantulas and Arachnitron speeding after him and a number of other Predacons already right next to the base, there was no time for him to look around for where they were. He had to make a run for it.

"So much for 'proceed with caution'," he muttered to himself. Steeling himself, he replaced the assault rifle onto his back and then ran off. He had hardly made it past two boulders when Rattrap's voice came in on his com-link.
Rattrap wrote:Dinobot, what're you doin' out there? Bein' a porker? Give Orcariner some backup.
Inwardly, Dinobot groaned. Now he was being asked to run the other direction. And then, even as he was trying to figure out a response, or even what his course of action should be (whether or not to risk running through the longer stretch of mines that now lay behind him rather than before him--especially given that he'd be facing enemy fire in that direction), a shockwave and a cloud of shrapnel and dust made him stumble sideways and fall forwards. His placement on the ground seemed to set off another proximity mine, and suddenly there were large rocks falling behind him and in front of him.

Dinobot got to his feet and saw that he was closed off on all four sides. In the direction of Orcariner and Dinobot's own Predacon pursuers lay the only obstacle short enough for him to climb over. But then, in the process of taking himself above the natural cover protecting him, he would also be taking the time to let his enemies take unanswered shots at him--he would be too occupied with climbing to return fire. And through a space between that short climb and the rock face it was leaning against, Dinobot could clearly see Arachnitron and Tarantulas continuing their charge.

"I do not think I will be capable of assisting Orcariner any time soon," he replied to Rattrap with an air of frustrated understatement.

Thinking quickly, he put the barrel of his energy cannon through the space and started putting out suppressing fire at Arachnitron and Tarantulas.

"Attention any air units," he called over the sound of his own weapon, deliberately blocking the transmission from Orcariner's com-link, since it was he that Dinobot was supposed to be helping, "I could use an airlift at the moment."

((OOC: I know Aerostriker's done for now and Airazor is still in the CR chamber. I just don't know what may or may not change in the game for Airazor, and anyways, I'm assuming Dinobot doesn't know the status of either of those two. Feralnight's fit for flying, of course, but it makes sense if she can't pull away from Terrorsaur or doesn't want to. I can have Cheetor try to come for Dinobot otherwise, which would be fun with Inferno coming right behind him...))

(People still think I'm a chick lol. Anyway Ironclaw can still rescue Airazor Worpex if you're willing to wait, if not, I understand. I don't want Ironclaw to shoot anyone yet. Honestly, Ironclaw wouldn't care much for Whitegrazers honor and all that, he doesn't favour her anyway, all the more reason to get in there. My plan wasn't really intended to interfere it was more to march around the Axalon and take care of the Predacons while saving whom ever in the process. Now I would have thought Whitegrazer may lose the fight since the Predacons are generally meant to be winning at this point, however how does that end with total destruction (doubt it) or going into stasis lock? Really by Ironclaw interfering we avoid that, the only problem is that damn bomb, does it really have to accidentally explode?)

((OOC:
Easily Ironclaw could shoot Umbra, thing is.. Whitegrazer might block it, throw Umbra out of the way,or even throw Ironclaw and tell him not to interfere.. Alot like Dinobot would say or do. It's a warrior duel after all."A battle of honor and glory!" as he'd say. Then there's disabling the bomb without causing it to prematurely explode and within the time limit.
She does like to throw people. :P

All joking aside, though, Whitegrazer wouldn't be angry, but disappointed. Ironclaw doesn't know what is going on. She knows that and won't hold that against him. The reaction of Umbra taking this as a dishonor without hearing an reasonable explanation from her would be disappointing. Not that he didn't listened, but that the situation has made her,as a Maximal and as a warrior/soldier, look like she is disrespectful and untrustworthy., which at the long run, destroys what she hopes to accomplish. Peace can't be achieved if the other side thinks you are disrespectful or untrustworthy of theirs and your own ways. It's not just about her honor, but the honor of what she stands for and her people.

Now, I can't really answer anything because I still think Umbra and Whitegrazer's fight might end even before Ironclaw comes back. I have no idea. Things can go fast or slow. Anything can happen. We planned the fight, but not the ending. I just love hand to hand combat. Also, remember, the deal was that if Whitegrazer won, Umbra would take the bomb off himself and escort Cece and himself out of the Axalon. ))

Nemesis could not hold back a laugh as all three of them plunged to an untimely demise on the ground below. It hardly mattered if they hit the solid rocks or the water, as from this altitude and with the speed they were falling, the end result would be the same. A very painful end indeed. Well.. at least she wasn't going alone. That pesky Maximal would meet his end as well as his friend.

Her wings fluttered in the wind as the two combatants neared their final destination, unable to halt their uncontrolled descent due to not being able to fold the wings out and catch an updraft. At least she got a chance to feel the cool night air against her feathers and metallic features one last time.

Precious seconds went by much too quickly. The impact was harder than she had imagined, unforgiving and solid as could be despite being a liquid. Upon hitting the surface, the two avian warriors finally released their grips on each other, causing them to drift apart before sinking. Nemesis had been clutching so hard onto the sai that was impaled in her foe that the weapon stayed in her hand as the current grabbed a hold of her and swept her away. The force of the impact had been powerful enough to knock her unconscious, perhaps to the best given the severe pain that spread through her as the impact dented her armor, and deformed and nearly severed some of her limbs.

The body was swept down the river, only coming to rest as it got caught on some rocks on the bottom. One by one the systems began shutting down, the pulsations of the spark becoming thready and weak.

Aurora watched in horror as Whitegrazer continued to spar against the Predacon, despite the fact she had a bomb attached to her backside. And from the looks of it, they really didn't have much time to settle this situation.

Looking down at her weapon, Aurora decided to give Whitegrazer a fighting chance to win this and still be able to keep her head held high. She knew all too well how much the white mare treasured honor, yet she had no reason to believe this Predacon, Umbra, would have any interest in helping her disassemble the bomb afterwards. There would simply be no incentive for him to do such a thing.

Honor among Predacons?

She had to hold back a snort, finding the notion ridiculous at best. At worst.. a terrible, deadly mistake one of her closest companions would soon have to pay for.

Given the fact she was as of yet unseen, this gave her an advantage at least. So Aurora decided to make use of it as best she could. She glanced down at her little stash of chemicals, selecting one she believed would knock Umbra out. Without hesitation she applied it to the tip of the arrowhead and took aim.

"No, you imbecile!!"

Megatron got no further before Tantrum had fired off his next round, straight at the oversized Maximal and anyone in close vicinity. Like Megatron himself. Growling, the Predacon leader halted his assault on the Maximal for a moment so he could get away. Through the corner of his optics he caught sight of something else moving towards him, something small and fast moving. The sharp object graced the tyrant's arm as he moved as swiftly as he could to avoid the blast radius. Already having been hit once, Megatron had no desire to repeat the experience so soon.

This time he was fortunate. The incoming shot deviated slightly to the side, a large portion of the impact bouncing off Orcariner's shields. Snarling, Megatron turned his attention back to the task at hand.. Turning those Maximal fools into burning rubble. Again he raised his cannon and fired a powerful beam at Orcariner, taking note of the fact that Steelclaw was now confronting the other Maximal.

Starshadow got up to her paws and roared at the Beast. Forget about playing fair, she is going to tear that little glitch into pieces right now. Her optics turned red with anger.

"I AM STARSHADOW, YOUR ONE AND ONLY EXECUTIONER, AND YOU ARE NOTHING!" her arm electroblades were formed and high voltage of electricity was surging through her body. It was now the time to end this tiring game. The thrusters on her back were activated and the thundercat quickly flew towards the rusty colored feline, slashing her at the side before throwing an electricity bolt at her back.
"Hey octo-girl, looks like you have a little something on your armor there, maybe a little 'spit' shine will help."
(I'm not sure if she knows her but oh well..)Cecaelia got a shock when she saw Frilla in her way, spitting on her armor. It felt quite painful since it was corrosive. "Ewwwww! Gross!" she looked up at Frilla and hissed, "you messed up my pretty armor, now I'll mess up your face!" the angry octopus charged up her gattling cannon and started firing at her.
I told you to be careful of ambushes.
"Oh shut up!", she shouted in the comlinks, "ughhh...disgusting spit..does she even know anything about good hygiene..? Gross..."

Even if her throwing knives hadn't dealt much damage like she knew they wouldn't Silverstreak was glad to at least distract one of the predacons because it seemed shortly after she got Steelclaw's attention the force field Orcarnier had erected was soon down. But the fox femme winced as a few rounds of the bear's weapon pierced right through her thin armor and ducking down before more could end up certainly putting her out of the fight which she wanted to avoid as long as possible or enough she could end up retreating should the chance call for it. "All well, one loss of a knife won't hurt got plenty more."She muttered to herself and peeking around from the side enough to see what Steelclaw was doing as she prepared her stun gun this time, knowing now was the best time to change her tactics.

Pushing herself up enough Silverstreak leaned around the boulder and aimed her arm mounted weapon towards her Predacon foe, giving it a slightly higher setting in hopes it might be enough to make Steelclaw back off. But with the fact he seemed in better shape it might not do much though she could only hope as she fired a few shots before ducking down again to avoid more oncoming fire.

==============================

Onyx finally found a clear path towards the Axalon, finding he had to treat somewhat carefully since it didn't seem all the Maximals were outside from what he had seen in the battle field and any could have been waiting for the Predacons to get close. In fact, he wasn't even aware of the mines that had been set down around the area as an extra added measure. For now however he knelt down as he drew his Friction Rifle once more and saw a chance to begin attacking the Axalon in hopes of forcing out the rest or taking the ship down, and with all the movement caused by the missiles and shots the mech was confident it would help to cause the shots to trigger the usual fire that came from the movements. Checking once more he took aim and began firig on the lower parts of the ship, seeing some areas burst to flames just from the slightest movements.

Umbra's tentacle swiped her legs, flipping her backwards, but she used her arm to block his swinging backfist. With a soft smile, she landed gracefully back on her feet and went to a stance with her left arm bent down, facing right as her right arm did the same except faced the opposite direction and was lowered. She followed her opponent as he walked back to execute a palm strike to the head, twirled, and gave a palm strike towards Umbra's abdomen. It was a move called Whiplash, which her master named because it caused what it says: whiplash. There was a tremor from the floor plating, mumbled but clear that the base wasn't taking damage well from the outside. I need those shields back online. She went to the consoles to try and turn the shields back online.

((OOC: The stance Whitegrazer took is exactly like the one Jun Kazama takes in TTT2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAOwW715AnA As well as the move I had her do. It's the very first one she does. Just for reference.))

Umbra leaned his head back and to the left as her palm strike barely missed, as she turned to hit his stomach, he stumbled back holding his stomach from the blow. He then looked up as he noticed she wasn't continuing the chain of attack, she was heading to the computer monitor. It made no sense to him, where did her confidence go? One moment she seemed so proud and even excited for this challenge, to show her own power. Now she was showing her back to the enemy. Was it to turn the defense system back on? He wouldn't allow it.

Umbra rushed towards Whitegrazer as he raised his right arm, the right side of his tentacles coiling around the arm giving the strange appearance of a much larger arm with four fingered curled fist, scaled almost the same size as Orcariner or Tantrum's. He then let loose a overhead hammerfist blow onto her head and upper back, slamming her through console terminal. The Umbra wasn't technically stronger, but the increased mass added to his arm was much greater then any of the hits he had done so far. Like comparing a normal punch, to using a sledgehammer or baseball bat.

You should take your own advice about turning your back to the enemy.. Where did that sense of joy go? That confidence? Are you hiding behind a defense computer now that your friends aren't here to see you?! he snarled.

He opened the curled fist grabbing onto Whitegrazer to lift her, then turned as he threw her to the center of the room. You challenged me to this battle, putting your life on the line. Yet you've only insulted it,hiding your name and turning your back to your enemy to use a cheap trick like a coward. This.. is unacceptable.

Umbra's optics flashed red, the camo on his body seemed to strobe violently in jagged stripes of black and white scrolling over his form as his other set of tentacles coiled around his left arm. He swung his arm back smashing the large monitor, then pulled it forward as he walked towards her. Now.. you will hold to your words, as I have held to mine..

Compared to the body style and techniques he was using before, this shape was far less defensive, and much more offensive with great reach for bare handed combat, but possibly slower by putting a third of his body weight on each arm.

@Darkspark: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Also, that's good that you won't be on tomorrow since there's no way I will be able to write anything today. A friend of my brother and I (that was not grammatically correct at all) is visiting from Kansas (my exboyfriend actually). So we are going to hang out with him since he is going back to Kansas tomorrow and probably won't be up here for a while. So we want to spend some time with him before he leaves. That being said, Worpex probably hasn't gotten to post yet either...for the same reason (he is my brother in case you missed that....).

@NK: Well, here is what I was thinking of doing: Cheetor is faster, but Inferno can keep up with him. If that makes sense. I mean I don't think Inferno would be that much slower that Cheetor could lose him completely. Plus Inferno is more familiar with flying and probably won't be as likely to make as many errors that could cause him to drop out of the sky or something like that. So Inferno won't be left behind...but would probably be right on his tail or at least close enough behind that he could shoot at Cheetor.

Orcariner did not have time to recover from his fall before he felt something incredibly powerful hit him squarely in the chest. Caught completely off guard, the Maximal felt himself launched backwards towards the Axalon. The force of the blow was so immense that he had initially felt nothing aside from the pressure that pushed him. However, it only took a matter of seconds for the pain to creep its way throughout his body as his sensory system slowly recovered from the shock. Orcariner's optics dimmed as the world felt like it was spinning around him.

"Ugh..."

Grabbing a fistful of dirt, the giant pushed himself up onto his feet, only to find himself falling back down onto his hands and knees. Orcariner had no idea what was the power source of Megatron's fusion canon, but it certainly dealt more punishment than he had originally assumed. Wanting to radio for help, the orca could not even string together full words. All he could muster were grunts and painful moans.

Get up. You have a fight to finish, soldier.

Grinding his jaw in frustration, Orcariner looked up and blinked several times to clear the incredibly blurry image of Megatron and Tantrum who both had their weapons trained on him. The Maximals were going to need a miracle of some sort to get out of this alive.

When hearing someone land beside her Wintersong turned her gaze towards Silverbolt, tensing slightly as she didn't know what to expect from him now. Would he finish her while she was still trying to get her wit about her? Much to her disbelief he was actually asking if she was alright! "I'm a little shaken but I'll be alright,"She answered him with obvious disbelief in her expression before she transformed with being in a partial crouch before taking his hand as she stood. "You know you got to be the most indecisive Predacon I've ever come across wolf, but least your not crazy like the rest of your comrades."Wintersong said, at the moment seeing no immediate danger as she relaxed, but only just slightly as even this could be a trick and not realizing the mech was actually not so keen with what Megatron had planned for the Maximals. "Don't suppose you have a name do you? The names Wintersong, just in case you know...we don't meet again after this."Wintersong at least could be a little courteous to the fuzor, considering she might not learn his name later. And who knew, maybe he wasn't as bad as she really thought.

Although her attentions turned towards the fact things were getting bad once again and she was too far away to give aid to Orcanier in time, which frustrated her to no end. But she also had to probably deal with this indecisive, or what appeared to be indecision, fuzor in front of her.
"My name is Silverbolt," he answered. "Though I may be Predacon, I also have my principles and my honor. I cannot just blindly follow orders."

Silverbolt paused a beat to let things sink in as he gazed thoughtfully at the battlefield before continuing.

"Especially if those orders are to massacre our enemies." He tone changed to one of urgency. "Quickly, we must warn your comrades to withdraw! Megatron aims to spare no one in his assault. Let's get you back to your friends, my lady. You might still be in time to save some lives."

"By air would be the fastest and least treacherous -- may I?" he asked, gesturing his desire to give Wintersong a lift as he transformed into beast mode.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Tantrum laughed gleefully when he saw his big Maximal adversary go down. In tank mode, he careened down the hill with reckless abandon towards Megatron and Orcariner. All the while, he fired his 40mm gatling wildly and inaccurately while blasting his rail guns so carelessly that the rounds ended up sailing into a different part of the battlefield altogether. Once on level ground, he lined himself up with Orcariner and began advancing on his at a steady pace, aiming to crush him into the dust beneath his treads.

"I make crushings of you like teeny insect being crushed by..." Tantrum hadn't really considered where he was going with his analogy before he started saying it, "... by crushing things."

Whitegrazer was able to turn the shields on when a shadow loomed towards her. Umbra's fist went down on her head, forcing her to call to him, "Sto-" Her head went through the console, leaving an imprint with some of her fur and face scratched and chipped. She turned herself around and caught the hammerfist before he could smash into her upper back. Everything seemed fuzzy and cracked, noticing her right optic shattered, "Stay your hand. I just put the shields back online. The tremors I felt originated from the second half of the ship. If a stray missile had hit a vital system or the computer core, we could be drowning in water or drowning in flames. It would be dishonorable for both of us if either of us won not by our own power, but by stray gunfire and their resounding consequences. " He threw her towards the ground: she steadied herself from such a powerful sense of aggression and anger by using the force of throw to flip and land on her feet, "I do apologize for not explaining myself first, but time I don't have a lot of." Despite the pounding pain and face that looked like it been touched by a grinder, she kept a steady yet serene composure.
