I don't see how Mr. Gottfried wouldn't make a good Rattrap. He was born in Brooklyn, complete with a Brooklyn accent and a career as an edgy, sarcastic stand-up comedian. I realize some people find his voice grating but it's grating in a comfy, likeable and recognizeable way unlike Terrorsaur's voice, which is just plain annoying without any redeeming qualities whatsoever(no Brooklyn accent either). Hence, why I think he's more of an archetypal Rattrap than Terrorsaur.
I've also made up my mind on Rampage. Ron Perlman should definitely play the part. He's had so many roles in the past as monsters and villains that he'd be perfect for the role. Just check out his roles as Clayface from B:TAS, Slade from Teen Titans, Hellboy(from Hellboy), Dieter Reinhardt from Blade 2, etc. He can play both sympathetic and evil monsters alike which is why he should be Rampage. And if you're worried that he may not have the charisma of Rampage, watch Teen Titans and how he voices Slade. He's very articulate and silver-tongued in that role. If you want eloquence and brutality rolled into one as Rampage, Ron Perlman's the guy to cast!
I don't know why, but for some really weird reason, I'm hearing Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith in The Matrix, and Lord Elrond in LotR) as a good candidate for Silverbolt. Provided he pulls back a little on the stern-ness and adds a little more nobility.... Plus Weaving does have some experience in voice-acting as well, playing the sheepdog Rex in "Babe".

Because, like I said before, the point of this thread is speculating which bigger-name celebs would fit the roles if the original cast was NOT an option. We're only talking about voices, not actually making the movie, even if it would happen.
*ahem* Anyway, someone earlier mentioned Robin Williams as a possible voice. With his talent, he could possibly fit several character types. I'm more used to seeing his comic material, but I know he's capable of doing more serious and dramatic roles. I wonder, though it may either be a longshot or casting against type... if he lowered his register a couple notches, and tapped into an insane vein... think Williams could work for Tarantulas?

come to think of it... I could really see Michael Clark Duncan (green mile, the island, sin city, daredevil etc) as DepthCharge....he as well has done some voice work.

Gottfried would drive me wonkobazoo as any bw character. Just thinking about it puts my hair on end. Yeesh.. He's too permanently associated with Iago in my head..
Diesel as Dinobot; could be an interesting possibility. Hard to say if he'd get the growl as well as Scott's portrayal of the character, but Diesel does have some experience in voice-acting as well, as The Iron Giant himself.

Considering the low pitch and husk in Diesel's normal voice, that makes for another good possibility. For a while, I'd been having a hard time trying to figure out a good voice for Rhinox, but another idea (which could possibly work okay) would be Brad Garrett, who plays Robert (the REALLY big guy) on "Everybody Loves Raymond". He's got a naturally VERY deep voice, and also a number of animation voice-acting credits on his resumé. He voiced Bloat (the porcupine fish) in "Finding Nemo", and Dim, the hefty rhinoceros beetle in "A Bug's Life". And believe it or not... he even played a character in the original G1 TF series; he voiced Trypticon, the massive Decepticon City/Battle Station (who appeared after the original TF movie).
