Tigerhawk, reimagined

Unread post by Wintersong »

So, with trying to get back into things here I wanted to share a more fleshed out version of Tigerhawk I had going in the story for the rpg here. Recently, I did this but am tweaking most of the info from a different character sheet to better fit what we have posted here. :)

Biography:
Tigerhawk has lived a long life, a life filled with twists and turns that have influenced his views and behaviors today. At spark, Tigerhawk is the definition of someone with a heart of gold. He is good natured and incredibly compassionate, almost to the point of being viewed as too trusting and even naive. But in reality, experience has greatly humbled this old mech, finding a greater meaning in seeing the positive side to life and knowing a little honesty and modesty gets one further than they might realize. For all his strength and outwardly appearance, one will find Tigerhawk has a calm, encouraging and welcoming air about him, being quite wise and approachable akin to a sort of mentor figure when one gets to know him.

But, one should not take this seemingly kind nature lightly. Tigerhawk has shown himself to be equally harsh and critical when he needs to be, especially towards those who seek to upset the balance of peace and take pleasure in chaos. Beneath the compassionate exterior, this mech possesses a cold calmness and somewhat cynical to certain views of others despite a generally open mind. He can firm and harsh when necessary, and many times will not be afraid to speak in a blunt manner, sometimes of which can be a lighter tone or full of harsh truth equal to a slap in the face. His deep yet kind baritone voice only adding to this effect. A few are also aware that Tigerhawk keeps a much darker side of himself locked away, concealing a sadistic side that enjoys causing trouble and pain as well as some masochistic tendencies that he is ashamed of and what influences his deeper criticism of those who partake in such practices.

Overall however, Tigerhawk is someone worth having at your side. Extremely loyal to a fault and protective, he is more than willing to go the distance for anyone as well as give someone the benefit of the doubt. Rarely does he immediately pass a personal judgement, instead seeking to make use of his less humbling side to teach others a better path. In fact, one can also find that in recent decades Tigerhawk has become more of a spiritual individual, finding solace in understanding the higher powers that be of Cybertron’s forgotten past such as the legends of the Oracle and Primus himself, believing in a higher calling. Though he generally keeps this to himself.

++++++++++++

The Cybertronian previously known as Crosswise had his start like any other new spark, the moment it came online his spark was placed in a malleable metal that would create his protoform.

Innocent eyed and in wonder of his home world, the then nameless mech took the form of a heavy-duty Cybertronian truck and began exploring his surroundings for a few days. Before long though, his interest soon turned to law enforcement when noticing a recruitment drive to expand their forces during the Pax Cybertronia. Without hesitation, he immediately signed up and became one of many recruits who underwent a grueling twelve-week training regimen involving firearms and hand-to-hand training, understanding tactics, reading people and understanding their behavior, and many other miscellaneous matters. The young mech’s penchant for observation and wisdom soon got him noticed by his instructors who named the mech based on his talents, and soon one of the instructors personally approached him for an opportunity after graduation to join the undercover unit, feeling the mech could have a talent for the work. Eager for such an opportunity, Crosswise at the time accepted the offer and trained harder than ever, developing his skills where he could until graduation day came.

Skipping the need to be a beat cop, Crosswise soon became part of a small unit that was primarily funded by the Maximal High Council. What Crosswise failed to notice however was the immediate corruption. Receiving a culture shock, the young mech was surprised to find many of his fellow officers fell a little too close to the lines blurring between reality and the job, initially appalled about their blatant abuse of power. But, not wanting to protest and being fired on his first major breakthrough, he kept his mouth shut and learned to compartmentalize most of their “war stories” on the job. And quickly Crosswise soon fell into the same trappings, being personally trained by his unit leader and learned to put on many a facade during his minor cases which soon landed him a larger case in handling the black market dealings and organized crime. Unfortunately, as the years went by Crosswise became numb to the acts he committed under his common disguise of Razorclaw, murdering, beatings, theft, smuggling, and many other heinous crimes soon began to fill his growing list, managing to shove aside his feelings of shame and discomfort for what he had become.

Eventually however, Crosswise came to his senses when he went too far on day and under the orders of one crime boss they were investigating nearly killed one of his unit mates personally. Upon this realization, Crosswise gave the word to move in and bust the crime lord and soon after put in his resignation out of guilt and having grown wary of the corruption he had allowed to invade his life for so long. Instead, he had himself transferred to being a body guard and enforcer instead, primarily working with the High Council and Bi-Partate Committee members.

Though, some old habits die hard.

Some months after taking the new position, Crosswise noticed some of his fellow body guards on the Predacon side acting suspiciously, often whispering, eyeing their Maximal and neutral counterparts, as well as sneaking about. Suspicious, Crosswise began personally investigating the matter. He tailed his fellow guards and began keeping a closer optic on the Tripedicus Council, unaware others were watching him when noticing him in return. After three months, Crosswise broke into the office of one of the Predacon heads of state for a deeper look but was caught and held at gunpoint, forcing him to back off, more so when threatened with exposing the truth of his background. Fearful of the social backlash and being imprisoned, he reluctantly stepped away from the higher paying jobs and took to guarding Cybertron’s elite instead as well as taking courses in a less violent profession, geology.

As with all career changes, Crosswise took a big step in leaving law enforcement for good, feeling he not only needed a change of pace but grew paranoid for his life with the pressure of Predacon agents on his tail among others viewed as political enemies. So, Crosswise was quick to sign up among the growing number of exploration crews, making use of his new field as well as his past to serve a dual purpose. One such fateful trip would eventually change his life forever, as well as present a new purpose causing Crosswise to change his name to what it is today to mark a new chapter in his life.

Weapons:
+X12 Scrapmaker machine gun (shoulder mounted)
+Two Electro Cannons (One on each forearm)
+Wrist blade (Right arm)
+Claws/Teeth (Beast mode)

Abilities:
+Heightened senses, more so when focusing from his spark for heightened environmental awareness
+Night and thermal vision
+Overshield

Strengths:
+Tigerhawk has had a long history in law enforcement, being trained extensively in firearms, hand-to-hand as well as unarmed combat.

+He is also specially trained in acting, manipulation, and deceit via his job in undercover, enabling him to transition from one personality to another to better blend in.

+Another skill learned from his days as law enforcement, he has learned to read body language as well as learning to read behavior and the psyche of individuals.

+For a bot his size, Tigerhawk is quite strong and durable, and is capable of handling a fair bit of punishment as well as being surprisingly agile when needed.

+As a fuzor, Tigerhawk can conquer land and sky, allowing him to be quite versatile in his capacity to transverse the environment as well as combat situations.

Weaknesses:
+For all his strength and durability, Tigerhawk is still considering slower than smaller or slimmer bots, which can put him at a disadvantage of being outpaced and outmaneuvered.

+Tigerhawk’s seeming hesitancy towards getting too violent has also worked against him over the years, causing him to never go for a killing blow or going beyond simply incapacitating someone, somewhat hindering his effectiveness in battle.

+Tigerhawk also favors mid-to-long range weaponry over melee combat, so he is quite light on melee weapons and can leave himself vulnerable to others equally or more skilled in long-range.

+His wings and tail are also vulnerable points on a physical level, easily leaving him without the means of flight or offsetting his balance.

+Lastly, his heightened senses can be a blessing and a curse, though attuned to the environment more than most, too much stimuli at one time can prove to disorient and incapacitate the fuzor.
