Ooc : @ Darkspark.... no I think Tarantulas would have been in danger too. If Inferno was in danger of being run over than so was Tarantulas . I saw Tarantulas as being in between Orcariner and Inferno, but I could be wrong.

((Oy, sorry for my delay everyone but real life caught up with me for a while and I went to reread back through three pages or so.))
Megatron's joyful glee was quickly turning to anger as he continued to watch the scene unfolding within the Maximal cargo bay. It seemed things seemed to turn rather quickly when the ant decided to take care of the spiders along with the Maximal Orcariner proving to throw a dent further into this, now his plans would certainly mean doom for them all. Gritting his teeth slightly Megatron had no choice but to hope somehow and someway that this situation would take a new turn otherwise they wouldn't be lasting much longer no matter what they did.
Finally his attentions turned to the Predacons as they were coming in, but he only clenched his jaw as he saw the beam coming from the alien weapon and hitting the planet, soon followed by what felt like earthquakes strong enough it forced the t-rex to quickly stand before he ended up chancing a fall into the fiery lava pits below. "Divert any available power to the shields at maximum and try not to fall into the pits below."He said in a dark but agitated tone. Unfortunately there was really nothing they could do without risking being melted to scrap outside or blown to absolute bits instead. Now all their options were being weighed on the success of the spiders back on the Axalon.
Onyx quickly transformed as he followed the others to the main control room, grunting as he was nearly knocked off his feet and forced to rest a hand on the wall for better balance and shifting his stance as the explosions rocked the base. Even with the shields they were likely to eventually get scrapped somehow, if not from the explosions then from the shields beginning to fail and he hated to admit it but there really was nothing they can do. "I don't know what all of you expect to do when there's a chance to be blown sky high and we have nothing that can retaliate to that contraption in the atmosphere."He said, wondering what any of his possibly soon-to-be former teammates were expecting. Unless one of them had some weapon that could counteract what was happening they might as well have been signing their death warrant.
======================
Silverstreak was a little surprised that Optimus was the one to answer her but none the less she shook his hand and listened, not liking the sound of what the aliens had been capable or rather properly to say the Vok. They must have been there quite a while to suffer so many hardships and it seemed Optimus likewise had been at the mercy of someone considering his scars which looked like they were pretty nasty looking at one point but somehow he was holding strong which was always a good thing. Though this was certainly nothing she has imagined to be thrown into so quickly nor did she really expect to be in a war so soon having woken up from her slumber in the stasis pod. Had things really gotten this bad? ANd how long had it been going on? That was something the fox would figure out for herself when she could.
No sooner had she thought this did the ship suddenly shake with enough force she stumbled slightly and quickly grabbed hold of the table, glancing quickly to the monitor with wide eyes at the weapon firing and only heating everything to dangerous levels. "Primus!" She said in shock, now realizing the magnitude of the problem that was certainly beginning to mean their death.

((OOC: 1,596 apologies, everyone. I'm contending with a powerful combination of school-related busyness and creativity-related writer's block. I'm still here, but I know it looks like I'm not; hopefully it won't look like I'm not for too much longer.))
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

(ooc: Ehh.. Wildfire; I think you may have missed Nemesis' and Venatrix' remarks to Megatron, but that's okay. No harm done. As for Tarantulas being locked in a cage.. it's been a while since I saw the episode but as far as I recall the cage consisted of bars made from energy keeping the body sealed in place. These bars would not have prevented the radiation or whatever you want to call it from affecting the body within, whereas a CR chamber is sealed. No problem, though, we can perhaps both give Ironclaw his moment and have the tank get opened prematurely, just in time for the party.
Also great post Darkspark & others!)
Aurora watched in silence as Ironclaw was put in the CR chamber. On the inside a terrible knot was forming, feeling as if it was about to choke her, but she had no choice but to brush those feelings aside for the time being. She would make sure the process ran smoothly this time as her faith in these chambers had been severely shaken after what had transpired with Icebreaker. Never again would those chamber doors open to reveal the lifeless blank stare of someone she cared for.
She double checked the settings personally. Then she pulled a chair up close and stood on it so she could look through the viewing glass and catch a glimpse of the machine working on Ironclaw's unconscious form. He looked peaceful for now, so she set the alarm in the event something about his condition changed, and stepped over to the monitors.
It was then she saw the beam emitting from the fake moon strike the ground below. The small fuzor froze in her tracks for a moment as she watched the scene unfold, the horror apparent on her face as her eyes went wide in shock. Those aliens were actually intent on killing all life on this planet just to deal with them..
"This is not happening..," she muttered quietly and started to frantically switch between the different cameras stationed outside of the Axalon. Some of the cameras were flickering, others had already gone blank, but they all showed the same destructive forces at work as the energon deposits began overheating. Explosions roaring like the worst thunderstorms sounded outside, causing the base to shake violently. For a moment Aurora thought the ship would dislodge and crash down the waterfall below.
Just then the commander's shout echoed through the hallway, confirming what she had already witnessed on the cameras.

((I thought I did respond though? I mean they asked what could be done and really there isn't at the moment, so he basically is telling them to wait it out. If I missed something for the episode I would have to rewatch it since it's been so long and as far as I know Megatron uses the chance of Optimus going into space to rid of the weapon and his arch-enemy. Other then that Megs did respond to them, unless someone else has a plan I'm stumped to what they can really do.))

(( OOC: Rhinox was the only one in a CR chamber until Ironclaw was recently placed in the other. Dinobot is not in any CR's. I'd like to point out, however, those who are done with their assignments should automatically report back to the command center for further instructions, or to find out what exactly is going on. It won't be long when OP has everyone gather in the stasis hold to find out what the Preds have been up to and then he goes bye bye.
As for going TM or not, I had noticed in the show that those who were occupying CR's in either base were NOT effected by the transwarp wave (like Waspinator, Rhinox, and Dinobot). Nor the ones who were "born" on the planet, so to speak; those who emerged from stasis pods on Earth (like Tigatron, Airazor, Inferno and Blackarachnia). Anyone locked up in a brig who originally came from Cybertron became TransMetal (like Tarantulas who was locked up in the Axalon after being burned by Inferno and captured by the Maximals). We don't have to follow this, though, as people have made it quite clear time and time again about the negativity of following the show's script too closely and having no freedom to venture beyond it. But even with that freedom to veer away, we see how confusing and slow our game still gets, so it doesn't really matter either way you go. But anyway, anyone who wants to go TM can go TM. Those who don't, then don't. Simple.
Those worried about the game running smoothly, specifically on the Maximal side when Optimus is gone, I'll still be RPing Rattrap, who will pretty much volunteer to step up and lead the Maximals while Rhinox goes off chasing comets (which should also help Alak since he'll have a lot to do with Rhinox and Orcariner, I'm sure), so things should manage pretty well until they're just about blown to scrap, out of ammo, the shields are expired, and the monkey comes back to kick the Preds' butts and save his Maximals. Again. Yay. ))

Orcariner continued to rush blindly into the fray. Bright light managed to catch the corners of his optics as Inferno blasted the whale with his flamethrower. Fire was not a projectile Orcariner had faced before. Missiles and such were manageable, and the giant had improved quite a bit at swatting them away or even embracing the impacts. This, on the other hand, was something he could not deflect via orthodox means.
The armor will hold and I can't do anything about my face.
The orca quickly closed his eyes as he spread his arms out as wide a possible, feeling the edges of his energo-swords knock around some storage items as he continued his charge towards his attacker. Several vibrations were felt on his back and legs, but Orcariner was unsure whether or not those were effects from the enveloping fire or shot fired from the others. Without warning, an explosion was heard in front of him. With his optics shut, the Maximal had no idea what had just happened. Perhaps someone fired a missile from behind and missed? Maybe help had arrived? Orcariner did not want to risk exposing his fragile optics to the fire, so he remained steadfast in his approach towards Inferno.

Frilla continued to watch the others why they waited for something else to happen, to which so far the only thing that had gone on was the brief talk with Silverstreak and Ironclaw now ending up in the second CR chamber. The frilled lizard felt bad for having been knocked out so quickly before her or their new teammate had gotten a chance to maybe have made some difference in the fight, but the spiders proved to be as sneaky as ever even when it came to the shields. It was actually almost disappointing at times.
Shaking her head the frilled lizard went to turn back to the monitors before she heard the alarms going off about the fake moon and quickly turned to look at the image, her eyes widening with shock. The aliens weren't kidding on this one and now the whole planet was going to be blown to bits! "On it."Frilled rushed to the nearest console as she transformed to beast mode, no longer in as much pain as before due to the self-repair systems and quickly typing on a few keys to divert available power to the shields to withstand the heat but she also had to adjust herself slightly to prevent from falling over.
Feralnight was likewise doing little, only able to watch her comrades coming in who were injured or had completed their tasks and now they could only await for new orders, maybe even an update to what was going on with the spiders. It was making her a little edgy to not know what was really going on, especially when she could have been here to help yet Arachnitron had proved to be convincing enough to call for help and lured potential help away which even with three against five the odds had been in the Predacons' favor. Maybe being a predacon does have it's upsides sometimes, the fuzor thought to herself and becoming briefly distracted by the past thoughts of earlier until the sudden shake of the base made made her stumble.
"What just happened?"Surprised and shaken Feralnight snapped back to reality and looked to the monitors from where she managed to keep herself upright, optics full of shock and disdain to see the alien weapon only beginning to start their destruction.

Following the others back to the bridge Wintersong gave a brief glance to where Whitegrazer put the badger into the CR chamber, still surprised Ironclaw had taken the risk to run rather then continue the battle but none the less she was grateful as well. Was it cowardly for him to have run? Maybe. But it hadn't seemed the odds were in their favor when three spiders had taken out even a heavy hitter like Rhinox so what difference would it have really made if the spiders had had the advantage over them already. Shaking her head the tigress merely forced herself to push the thoughts aside and turned to the task at hand since only time would tell if either Rhinox or Ironclaw would be coming out of those chambers alive and she prayed like the others that they would come out alive. Unfortunately the recent loses were still fresh as it was.
Yet no sooner had they come back to the bridge did things once again make a drastic turn with the Vok. Feeling the entire base shake Wintersong crouched slightly to prevent from falling over, growling slightly in mixed feelings of concern and agitation. If it wasn't one thing happening it was certainly something else and the Maximals just didn't seem to get a break.

Whitegrazer just watched as Aurora tinked with the CR chamber, feeling her overwhelming concern yet distrust towards the machines, especially after the incident. Hopefully, she didn't have to.
She felt the tremble as the Axalon shifted. The reflex was to grab Aurora to protect her, but she stopped the sort of thing as it seemed the base was stabilizing. She joined the little ermine as they looked from the monitor.
All this destruction...chaos...the aliens weren't holding back this time. There must have been another way. Why? Why did they have to do this? They didn't have to! There was no excuse! Such beings with such power should have a higher standard than committing such a thing.
"...don't understand..."
Huh? That voice again.
Shaking her head, she heard as well as Aurora Optimus' shout.
Optimus would want everyone back at the bridge, but Aurora didn't seem to want to leave Ironclaw's side.
"Aurora, we have to go to the bridge along with the others." She looked down at the young one.
This planet was falling apart. If they were going to stop it, now would be a good time before it was too late to try anything. From all the hassle the spiders had done to get inside Axalon, maybe they did have something. After all, those spiders wanted the same thing: survivial.

(( OOC: Great finale for Tarry, DakrSpark! ))
"Shields holding," Sentinel announced despite the heat outside and the energon explosions. "External temperature at 300 rads and climbing." The entire ship continued to tremble and rock as the boulders and ledges it sat on over the waterfall crumbled and fell. Suddenly, the power inside the command center began blacking out. All of the other consoles' monitors and communications went off-line, the warning red lights flashed on illuminating the bridge, and the sirens sounded off throughout the base.
Noticing Aurora, Whitegrazer, Wintersong and Cheetor roaming the corridor just outside of the bridge and carrying Ironclaw to the CR - which he was not very thrilled to see and hoped the badger would be all right - it reminded him of Rhinox who was already occupying the other repair chamber and how much he really needed him right now. This whole situation was unlike anything Optimus had ever experienced before and without his old friend by his side, whom he thought would know best how to deal with these aliens, he suddenly felt very alone and lost on what to do. "Dinobot!" the gorilla called to the velociraptor who had placed the scientist in the CR. "How long before Rhinox is functional?"
-----

Rattrap looked at his partner just as she looked at him when they heard the screaming and gunfire down the hallway. What the slag was going on in there?! Nodding at her motion, he followed in Airazor's wake and quickly but carefully hurried to the door that provided another exit to the stasis hold area. Standing beside it with his weapon ready, he nodded again at her as she decided to blow the door down and crouched down so that he could provide cover fire at a lower level and protect himself from one's first instinct to fire at an intruder at chest-level. He held his fire, however, remembering the ape's orders, and only peeked in around the corner to get a quick glance of the situation before anymore possible gunfire. He saw Orcariner, the only Maximal defending himself, and a trail of smoke wafting out of the other exit to the room ((Tarantulas' trail of smoke down the corridor, just as clarification)). Arachnitron was on the ground, Starshadow the traitor seemed to be distracted with pain to her face, Inferno was going crazy and laughing at Orcariner - boy, was he in for a rude awakening, and Blackarachnia seemed to be somewhat distracted near a stasis pod in the center of the room. What were they doing with one of their stasis pods...?
While Frilla diverted all the power they could sacrifice to the shields, Optimus kept his focus on the holographic visual before him at the center console, checking the readings and watching the planet fall apart. This rich and organic planet he had come to love, with its endless beauty and magnificent life. With the duration of their stay here as long as it had been, this world began to feel more like home than Cybertron. It saddened him greatly to witness the destruction that the Vok were intending to accomplish simply because he, his Maximals and the Predacons were there, interfering with some kind of "project." He didn't want this world to die, nor any of its inhabitants, plant and animal alike. And if this was infact Earth in its prehistoric years, was this destruction going to effect anything else...?"On it."

All of the other consoles' monitors and communications went off-line, the warning red lights flashed on illuminating the bridge, and the sirens sounded off throughout the base.
As the ship shook, Optimus maintained his balance, glancing at Silverstreak - whom he wished he could have met during a more peaceful time and actually get to know the newest member under his command - and the others around the round room, seeing the fear and concern written on their faces. "Modulate shields as necessary," he ordered Sentinel. The more he kept himself focused and didn't panic, the better off his Maximals would be. Primal had to remain as calm as possible despite the circumstances because at this point it was all his comrades had to rely on. He looked about as the systems around them seemed to be shutting down while more power was diverted to the shields."Primus!"

Stepping up to Feralnight, trying to keep his balance without falling over, Tigatron looked from Silverstreak to the wolf/raven Fuzor and answered, "They're igniting the raw energon across the entire planet. I fear they literally wish to blow it up and be rid of us once and for all." Frowning, deeply saddened thinking of losing this world, the only home he knew, and all the life it gave, he still hoped there was something they could do save it. And like Airazor, he trusted their leader to do whatever it would take to save everyone, even if meant saving the Predacons. So to help Optimus, he also tried keeping himself calm and focused on the matter at hand. He knew that would do a lot for him in a grave situation such as this one. Watching him, he knew Optimus was doing the best he could so far. He couldn't imagine what it would be like being in his position right now, or even during the entire war with Megatron and the Vok."What just happened?"
-----
"Ain't I been sayin' it? Ain't I been sayin' we're all gonna die?" Rattrap said to Airazor's comment as they worked together through the corridors like some elite swat team. This was what he was built for; sneaking around like Black Ops with his finger on the trigger and ready to take down any intruders that crossed his path, not chopping down wild bean vines with one of Primal's swords or babysitting old Chopperface. As short as he was, it was easier for him to keep his balance when the base shook. He couldn't imagine what was going on outside but it wasn't long before the alarms sounded and the red lights began flashing everywhere signaling danger. He was ready to take these Predacons down. How dare they invade his territory and hurt his friends before the whole world was going to blow up with them!"That can't be good.
"Well, that's just prime!"

((OOC: Hey, Wintersong. Is Snow Trix still roaming around outside? Because if she is, she might be in a bit of trouble...))
And he didn't have an answer for her.
And from there, the scene turned into chaos. Once the first few computer screens flickered out, the wiring in the bridge began short-circuiting and throwing sparks in sundry directions. The lights in the base malfunctioned, flickering out spontaneously and then coming back on with the added flaring red of warning signals.
He was almost pulled out of the situation at hand when he remembered that Onyx was actually something like Crisis #2 right now. Well, if there was indeed nothing they could do in response to the aliens... maybe there was something to be said for attending to the rest of their lives as if they were going to live them.
So he walked up to Onyx, and just before he was about to speak, flinched sideways as a shower of sparks looked for the place where he'd been standing. "Hey, Onyx... heh... this might be the worst time I can even imagine to pull a fellow soldier into a regular conversation... Well, anyways, can we talk?"

Dinobot was staring at the holographic display projected on top of the center console--a green representation of their own base showing the damage it suffered in real time. He wouldn't admit it, but he could not face the situation with complete stoicism. He could die a warrior's death, but if the aliens were to destroy him and his comrades while they had no chance for retaliation--only to defend themselves and hope the danger would pass--then death would present itself to him as a more obvious tragedy.
Ever since Ironclaw had been placed in the CR chamber, Cheetor had been looking and listening at everything in the bridge quietly, mostly for the sake of keeping his fears to himself. Things got worse for him once the Axalon was actually reeling from the attack, and well, he could tell when Optimus was losing his own confidence. He was. And slowly, the question of whether or not everyone was going to die ended up leading to the question of what it would mean if they did. And that was a little bit calming, but also even a little more scary. And then he asked.
"Hey, Big 'Bot," he spoke up over the sounds of the base, "if, uh..." How was he supposed to say this? "If the aliens actually end up killing us and the Predacons, is Cybertron going to be o.k.? I mean... we stopped exploring to stop Megatron, so..." Cheetor's voice cracked, and he stopped to try to get it steady again. "...even this counts, right?"
Nemesis' response seemed suddenly even darker than Steelclaw had been trying to go. He wanted to know if she was ready to face the threat of death from a seemingly unbeatable enemy; she wanted to know if he was ready to die.Nemesis wrote:Is anyone ever ready?
And he didn't have an answer for her.
Steelclaw watched on as she took charge of the situation--closing the hangar doors, raising the shields and checking the outside surveillance. He was on his own way to one of the monitors, but he stopped himself when he realized what Nemesis had done was pretty much... all he could even think of anyways. All the while, Megatron stood by silently.Nemesis wrote:We better seal up the base. Things are about to get rough.

The lights in the base malfunctioned, flickering out spontaneously and then coming back on with the added flaring red of warning signals.
And now she was even vying for Megatron's attention so his crew could just hear something (something reassuring, hopefully) from him. Without warning, the first leaning of the Darksyde slipped Steelclaw right off balance, making his alloyed feet screech against the grated floor. On the ground, he noticed for the first time that the rumbling of the support structure of the ship could be heard echoing through the hallways into the command center. He picked himself up quickly and looked around at his teammates, noticing that Venatrix had handled the sudden shift in a way that made it look easy. He shook his head; he had never really had anything like sure footing.Nemesis wrote:Megatron, I'm sure you are aware of what's happening. Any specific orders aside from shields?
Venatrix wrote:Have anything planned that wouldn't involve us being blown to scrap?
(Decidedly not reassuring.)Megatron wrote:Divert any available power to the shields at maximum and try not to fall into the pits below.
Steelclaw had been thinking the same thing; he just hadn't wanted to say it because he was hoping someone else would actually know what to do.Onyx wrote:I don't know what all of you expect to do when there's a chance to be blown sky high and we have nothing that can retaliate to that contraption in the atmosphere.

Dinobot met his leader's gaze and shook his head grimly. "I estimate no less than a megacycle. He was hit with a substantial amount of cybervenom."Optimus Primal wrote:Dinobot! How long before Rhinox is functional?

I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

(ooc: Excellent post, Blazemane! )
Nemesis gripped the floor mounted console to maintain her position as the Darksyde rumbled and leaned for a moment as a result of the exploding energon deposits caused a rippling earthquake effect which threatened to knock the whole ship into the lava. Venatrix remained standing a bit off to her side whereas Steelclaw fell over behind her.
Once the ship once again settled the avian female cast a glance back at the others, especially the stoic shape of Megatron who had remained mostly motionless through this entire ordeal. Within her lingering doubts on whether Megatron's apparent boundless faith in the abilities of Tarantulas were boiling to the surface. It seemed like an awfully high risk to take when all of their lives were in the balance. Granted Nemesis had been known to perform outrageous acts of gambling herself at times too, but for obvious reasons this was not one of those times. In normal circumstances she would have formed a plan, yet this one time she had no choice but to come along for the ride.
It was not an overly enjoyable situation.
Definitely no reassurance there.
Through the corner of her eye she noticed Steelclaw turn to the current wildcard, Onyx, and started a conversation to try to keep distracted during all of this.
The feathered female sighed and shook her head as the memories of the last time she had faced death flooded her mind. She had been alone then, drifting through space after an extensive battle had left her severely injured. That time she had let her inner turmoils rest and merely embraced the freedom of the imminent escape death would provide. She had been at peace for a change, only to wake up on this planet and unwillingly get reformatted to this new body. This time she did not feel at peace. The scene unfolding was mere chaos. Yet there was still a lingering chance they would survive, albeit a very slim one.
Moments later the deep rumbling in the ship's hull resumed and once again the lights flickered. Another, more powerful, quake impacted mere seconds later, causing the ship to shake quite violently and threatening to shred the walls protecting them from the hostile environment outside. By now it had become evident to even the dumbest of Predacons aboard that they were facing a huge threat here.
In the midst of the rumbling, Nemesis thought she heard the computer's voice chime in with a message that appeared to doom them all.
"Unit Tarantulas offline."
Why ? Why did they all have to gather in one place when someone obviously should keep an eye on the progression here. It was only a matter of time before the Axalon suffered the full blow of the impact, which could cause their shields to collapse, power outages that would cause problems for the Maximals currently occupying the CR chambers, or worse.. It just seemed like a waste of resources to gather everyone at a moment like this, when they should all hold down their stations as best they could.
"All right," the small ermine responded solemnly, and grudgingly took the first few steps towards the bridge. As she got to the door, she glanced back at the repair stations one final time. She could but hope the machines would not fail this time.
Then she moved on to the bridge to hear what Optimus had to report.
(ooc: If the plan is to still follow the show and have BlackArachnia hack into Tarantulas' mind, she might want to do that relatively soon.. or the Maximals are winning the war by default. :p)

Megatron's response to her inquiry held little comfort. Nemesis had overheard enough of the leader's conversation with the computer to know about his plans involving the spider, but until this point she had hoped that there was more to it than Megatron had revealed. Unfortunately his answer seemed to imply that he, too, was at a loss right now and his plan, the only plan, revolved around the success of a scheming spider.Megatron wrote:Divert any available power to the shields at maximum and try not to fall into the pits below.

"Everything deserves a second chance. People or in animate machines." She said softly to the young one then she determinedly said with a solemn face, "He will survive this, Aurora. Everyone. If we think we are dead, then we will die. Keep fighting until the very last minute. For everyone," she stared back at Ironclaw's CR chamber before continuing, "Always remember that."
It seemed more like a message to Aurora to keep fighting for Ironclaw and his recovery yet it also pertained to the situation they were in as well.
"Ironclaw, don't make a liar out of me."
She followed Aurora to the bridge, which was still a mess from the spiders' attack. She glanced at the others who were in the bridge: Dinobot, Cheetor, Rattrap, Tigratron, Wintersong, Frilla, Feralnight, and she lingered her optics on Optimus.
"I know what's coming for you. Would you still do it if we say no? Yes, you would. Despite my warning, you will do it. Because you choose to."
She smiled gently at Optimus.
"Despite the differences in our lives...we are more alike than we thought."

Blackarachnia realized how it was too late for Tarantulas, watching him as his burnt body convulsed. Slag, without him...we can't finish the pod! Then an idea, an idea that made her shiver to her very core, popped into her mind. Taking the green visor Tarantulas had used to work on the pod, she put it on and attached it to Tarantulas' mind.
I better not regret this.
Everything turned black and the feeling of her falling down a huge hole overcame her. Colors zipped past her as she continued her descent before a light blinded her eyes and Tarantulas dark lair appeared. Walking towards Tarantulas' computer consoles, she begin her searches for the information that would help her finish the pod.
Everything seemed to go too well and that a cold, shiver ran down her circuits.
