Where we talk about nothing other than that. :)

Which game is better? You play as depth charge in any of them?

All the BW games are awful and not worth the purchase, even for massive fans of the show. However... its my understanding that the PS version is (slightly) better.

Yeah, WorpeX is correct. At least the PS1 version doesn't have a Tarantulas model with the width reduced that they try to pass off as Blackarachnia (with a ridiculously high-pitched voice to boot).

They have the transmetal one, which system was that for?

They need a game about DC on Omicron when X freaked out... Or a manga of it... Unless there is already a manga of it.... If there is I must find it!

the PS1 version of the fighting game is the best. You have to point out there's THREE US released games.

Beastwars which came out on PS1 and PC (Only difference being a online four player deathmatch mode on PC) which.. is terrible but featured full levels playing either Maximal or Predacon campaigns, which at the end of the levels you would fight one of the lead characters in a boss fight, much like Transformers Armada the game. Beast modes however were useless in that game other then energon damper recovery and running.

Then there's Beastwars Transmetals, which is PS1 and N64. But the N64 version was originally only a rental for Blockbuster.

the N64 Transmetals fighting game is like a strange Virtua fighter like game with more focus on shooting then really technique, the Playstation one is almost more like Powerstones or Ergeiz. So they're both completely different.

Also to note, Japanese version of the N64 game includes a extra character, Megatron X, which is playable if you have the best of all beastwars games.. the Beastwars Fighting game for Gameboy and that transfer pack that came with Pokemon stadium.

As for Depthcharge manga.. there is none. Depthcharge in japan was no where near as badass as he was in the states, I'd almost put him akin to a fishing barney the dinosaur.. So.. not that popular. Now if you want to find Manga of Cheetor and Optimus Primal making out, that's all over japan.

If you can find the CD image (IE:Not legal way)..however, it was made to run on windows 95. I got it working on XP in compatibility mode and tweaking my resolution settings (it runs at 640,but you can tell it's blown up from the Playstation's 240 resolution), but I don't think it'll work too well on modern OSes.. Or just buy the CD online. I'm sure someone carries it. However I don't think deathmatch mode works anymore..though I did get it working through MSN once. It used to be for Windows live zone.. a sorta really old precursor to windows live.

Okay, when your burning a copy of softwear, or burning files to a CD, it goes to what is called a CD Image. the PC/PS1 game came out in 1997, roughly around season 1 to season 2, so it was set in season 1. This wasn't something you could just download off steam, it was a retail CD release.

So if you want to "download" the game, you'd be downloading it much the same way as pirating Playstation or dreamcast games, downloading them from a torrent or warez site, then burning to a CD with something like alcohol120%,disc juggler, etc. Or running it virtually from something like Daemontools.

So if all that sounds too confusing, then the amount of effort to get the PC game running might just be too much either way. You may just want to avoid it and go with the Playstation one version, in which case..

It should be noted it was produced by Hasbro's softwear section..

It should be noted both the "transmetals" games were produced in japan. The Opening with Optimus Primal talking is rather similiar to how the japanese opening to Beastwars is.

Seriously, the PC version of the game atrocious. The only thing about the game that even makes it beast wars is the characters. Otherwise it pretty much has nothing to do with the show. Not worth your money or time.

The fighting game is amusing for about 20min until you realize that the game has no replay value at all. If your going to try to get one, make it that.
