Glowstick Cross Section.
Sometimes I tend to think a bit too.. detailed on subjects. Probably a fault from having a hobby of research and a interest in the mechanics of.. everything.
But it seemed interesting to attempt to explain half the stuff on Glowstick and he kinda needs some new art anyway.
So here's each thing with details of information. Yay. I may do a few more of these, probably on some weapons and other characters.
Med kit-The backpack structure on Glowstick's back, it has slots on the back portion for carrying his Poison slime sword, and a storage hatch which carries his repair supplies/med supplies when on the field. The side and underside of the Medkit have a magnetic mount which allows certain acquired items to be mounted to this space. This is modified from the little flap on the squid beastwars figures that had a claw weapon there.
Glowstick's flight system is strangely complex, and yet rather simplistic. Using a internalized Anti gravity generator he can sustain flight as well as use it for buoyancy when underwater, the generator is attached to a sphere like gyro which allows Glowstick to control his orientation while floating, even enabling him to float upside down. The Vent Intake,Intake Duct,Duct fan,and Siphon act as his main form of propulsion sucking air or water in through the vent and intake via the duct fan, then expelling it through the Siphon on his back, the Siphon itself is equipped with ball joints allowing it to be moved in nearly any direction making Glowstick possibly one of the agile swimmers/fliers but at the cost of the speed that rocket propulsion would provide. the Duct fan can even be reversed sending air out the vents and having Glowstick drop straight down.
The Beak and Radula are parts of his squid anatomy, the Beak being able to extend for a powerful bite and inject venom into his victim. The Radula is the strange "tongue" like structure inside the beak, it is covered with serrated sharp tooth like structures designed to extend and lick out/scrape out the area that has been bitten.
The Radio box inside his back is his main broadcast device and audio nightmare to the Maximals. Connected to the 8 arms( Cephalopods have 8 arms, cuttlefish and squid have 2 tentacles aka "feeder tentacles", referred to this as they stretch to grab food.) which act as his antenna array. I'd get more indepth, but that is something VERY well known.
The Head Speakers on his head are strangely his main means of speaking, as his head has no known mouth, though rumored a face might be under his faceplate (but unlikely..) adding further to his radio pitched metallic voice.
The Optic shielding he is equipped with works similarly to a welder's mask, dimming in the presence of bright light(like his lasers) to prevent optic damage.
The Speaker on his shoulder is a internalized speaker, which purpose entirely is just to play music or sound, an obsession the character has. These speakers generally are covered but the armor around them can retract away.
Finally we get to the Robot arm/Feeder tentacle. This acts as his main limb, in squid mode it's his feeder tentacle, in robot mode it's his robot arm. But generally is always referred to as the Feeder tentacle (because Glowstick has too many limbs. ) The feeder tentacles can extend to great lengths which can be used for many effects from grabbing, swinging, or even long distance punches. The Feeder tentacle is equipped with suction cups much like his arms, but only along the lower part of the tentacle, each one able to apply suction or grip with claws on the edges of the limbs. The suction cups can be moved independently to apply pressure, as well as have the tentacle fold into shapes making it as if not more adapt then a transformer hand. The Photophores on his body are unique to his squid anatomy, having 3 large ones on the end of his Feeder tentacle and roughly 20,000 smaller ones all over every inch of squid skin on his body. These cells serve one purpose, to glow. All Cephalopods have them, but mainly use them for effecting lighting and shadow effects with their camouflage, able to at will turn them on and off.
Glowstick however is a deep sea Squid (Enope Sparkling squid, Toyama squid(based off where they are primarily captured and eaten as food), Firefly squid(Hotaru Ika) http://foxinramen.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2uih2a Probably one of the better images drawn of one glowing, also why I will NEVER draw every photophore on Glowstick.) and has no such Camo, so the purpose of the lights are more of a distraction, luring/confusing victims,Morse code, displaying expressions, or illuminating environments.
Which of course leaves the final most important part of this whole thing. Glowstick's Laser. Mounted and hidden as a photophore between two smaller ones on his feeder tentacle, his laser system almost works like a reverse eyeball. Mounted on a turret it can move independently of his tentacle with fast and precision movements. Adding further to this, the device has various focal lengths from an adjustable lens inside the laser, with the external one referred to as the Iris. This allows Glowstick to project wide unfocused blasts of blinding effects or flashlight like beams, to highly focused blasts for welding, soldering, or pinpoint long range sniping blasts. The adjustments to the device also allow Glowstick to compensate for atmospheric differences in water or air that would interfere with the laser.

Great job. I'm right there with ya, buddy, I love schematics and cross sections. If my drawing tablet didn't stop working, I'd probably do one for Orcariner (and his TM form) too. We're dealing with a science fiction universe, so technology and design is pretty important. The more specific things are the better.

Glowstick colors
StarShadow colors
Dinobot colors(not likely to ever happen.)
Evil colors?!
Replacement for the Poison sword, Glowstick refers to it as the "Raver blade", a large crystalline sword which channels plasma through it so as to combine blunt and plasma damage (Burning/melting+circuit frying) based off the user's stats. When inactive it's simply a clear glass like blade, but powering it up makes it appear as the image displayed generating heat and interfering with electricity and radio signals. Even further, it has two active modes. "Closed" at the top, and "Open" at the bottom which has the handle and blade extend increasing reach. In Glowstick's "hands" the blade glows blue, but if it's in another's like say StarShadow or Dinobot it'd glow magenta or green. Due to the risks and power of the weapon in certain hands, it's put under a password to operate, "Light my darkest hour"
As Protoform technology focuses more on energy efficiency, Glowstick can't operate the blade for very long, it'll drain his systems to the point of stasis lock. Active the weapon also messes with radio frequencies, making Glowstick technically invisible to radar from ambient plasma, but at the cost of being unable to pick up radio signals, not something he would like. Even worse, active the weapon slowly starts to cook the user's body from ambient heat.
So yeah, while the weapon is.. ridiculous compared to the poison sword and even lethal to the user, if Glowstick is in a close combat situation he's probably desperate enough to use a near suicidal weapon. It's also fitting as he now has a "Glowstick"

So is it sort of a electro/thermo hybrid sword? Which stats of the user would affect its abilities the most? Oh, and I went ahead and added it to Glowstick's profile.

Pretty much. Unpowered just the strength stat. Powered would be strength and firepower. So basically you could hit someone, and the bonus effect would be depending how long said sword is up against them, will inflict continuous firepower/energy damage. Block a sword or weapon with it, you'll melt through like a torch under a iceblock over time. ^_^ It's a strange weapon to say the least.
