Just a quick question, or perhaps not so quick all depending, regarding importing my G1 character Nemesis into the rpg.
Now that school is finally over, I should have more time on my hands. The lack of time, in combination with the rpg being a bit.. err.. slow (with the OC episodes being totally chaotic) along with me simply not being attached enough to the BW character I created here to really make as much effort as I would have liked, caused me to temporarily retire from the rpg. Most of all it was my super busy life that was doing it, but now things should be calming down so I've been toying with the idea of bringing my old G1 character Nemesis into the BW saga by adapting her to the BW storyline of course.
To give a brief overview:
Nemesis is a female Decepticon warrior specializing in close combat martial arts, often using swords and sais as her weapons of choice. A bit like BlackArachnia in the beginning, I suppose, but oddly I only saw BW several years after I designed the character Nemesis. No relation to the ship. :p Anyways, her alternative mode is a cybertronian jet.
For a little history..
In her eagerness to become a more powerful warrior, Nemesis volunteered to be a test subject (among several others) for a group who were attempting to create 'super soldiers' by implementing the use of nanotechnology into the subjects. The experiments were not successful (or only to an extent) and most of the test subjects died. After a long struggle, Nemesis survived, but the implementation of the experimental nanotechnology left her a different individual on the brink of insanity. She suffers from severe mood swings, irrational thought processes, and an often self-destructive behavior fueled by a belief that she is indestructible.
The nanobots that fused with her circuits give her the ability to regenerate from even the most serious injuries. For the loss of limbs and other severe injuries the nanobots will take advantage of raw material left behind in the form of enemy soldiers, or even equipment, stripping the raw material required off them in order to regenerate Nemesis' destroyed parts. This process requires her to touch whatever she is using to regenerate with. Without raw materials the healing process will take place but will be slowed and only focus on keeping her life functions alive. Her own energy levels will be depleted if the regeneration is very extensive, requiring a period of recovery to become fully functional again. The nanotechnology also makes Nemesis vulnerable to extreme temperature changes, as the process is slowed to nearly a halt if the temperatures are not ideal.
Nemesis refused the upgrade (or downgrade if you want to believe her) to the smaller form seen in BW and left Cybertron to travel the galaxy on her own when the transformation took place. At some point she comes through the portal left behind by the beasties, probably involuntarily after a battle had left her drifting through ice cold space with very limited repairs being made for the duration of her trip. Crashing on Earth, the temperature changes will likely bring the nanobots back online, allowing them to use a nearby deactivated prototype in order to rebuild Nemesis in a Beast Wars image.
I could go on, but wondered if something like this would work.
character import?

She sounds very interesting.
If she never downsized, but must turn into an Earth-creature to save herself from energon radiation, what form do you think she'd take on?

I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

Heh.. knowing that character.. either a Raven or type of bird of prey like a Falcon or hawk.. and for those interested, here's the character's original design.
Should be interesting sketching that up.

Well she would downsize when she crashes on Earth, of little choice of her own but rather a decision made when the nanobots merged her with BW prototype technology. She'd be of average female BW size then. Was halfway contemplating either a hawk or eagle, but perhaps some fuzor if I come up with good ideas for the design.
Not sure how the energy radiation would affect her with the funky mixture that makes up her components.. But I don't see downsizing/changing form to a beast mode would be a conscious act of hers. More likely done to her by the nanobots that try to preserve her life, so that she would probably resent the new form initially.

The character looks cool and all, but based on our current standing roster it seems that half of the OCs are unstable in one way or another. If take a look at the canon list, I'd say half of the Predacons are mentally unstable. Is it just me or does that seem to be a very popular trait? Plus, if the already unstable Nemesis crashes on a foreign planet that has talking animals at war, then her sanity will definitely be tossed out the window.

Well if your a predacon your bound to be a bit crazy, but er.. yes. OC wise I suppose the Predacons would have maybe four sane members.. Insanity tends to be popular since there are so many different types of insanity.

There is a certain unpredictability in insanity that's quite refreshing, especially since (as Naitokage already mentioned) there are many different forms of insanity.. From paranoia to a belief you are someone famous/invincible, to delusions etc etc..
I have tried playing the typical "good character" but find I get bored very easily with that, since most of us are pretty nice real life and as such roleplaying as something else gets to be an outlet of imagination.
Insanity does not mean you can't be smart, even brilliant, or have moments of rational thoughts.
Anyways.. Merry christmas all!!!!
