The Wii version of the game is a on rails shooter, kinda like the arcade lightgun games.
And good news! DLC will be coming out with all the Pre-order characters plus Onslaught (truck) and Scattershot(tank), which fills in the lack of characters in those areas. Plus comes with new maps on Multiplayer and Escalation. Personally I kinda wish they just had these characters in the main game.. but you can see the production art on Onslaught and Scattershot at least.

Pheh. Come back when you're looking at my stats where I got 1 kill for about every 7 deaths. I suck at shooters, but it's a Transformers game, I'll keep plugging away. Especially since I can use the P.O.K.E. (still freaking out about that).Alak wrote:1) I was handed my first loss in Team Deathmatch today. Ok, so this isn't exactly an accomplishment but it's a first. I had 7 kills and 5 deaths and was the team's #1 player. That's how bad we did
Played MP for the first time today, the game is alright, but I am REALLY pissed at the poor condition of the servers. Literally 90% of the time I join a game either I lose connection with the host or it times out or the game freezes. (And I don't have this issue with other games, so it's not my connection.)

I read about that today but so far it's only "confirmed" for the XBox Marketplace. Did you by any chance hear any news for the PS3 version? I want to assume that it'll be the same, but considering how Microsoft succeeded in making the demo exclusive to the 360, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same.NaitoKage wrote:The Wii version of the game is a on rails shooter, kinda like the arcade lightgun games.

No clue, I assume it'll probably come out first on X box like usual since.. PS3 just doesn't get that many exclusives. I've noticed since they fired Ken Kutaragi and some of the old members from Sony that the Firey hate that made PS1 and PS2 has died down and been focusing less on gaming and more on other.. things, with a great deal more focus on just japan then even before.

On Friday my Scout was a level 3, Scientist a level 0, Leader a level 0, and Soldier a level 2. Today, they're all respectively 10, 8, 8, 10. I love double XP + Conquest.

Thanks again Alak and NaitoKage for all your help. You've helped me decide which games to buy when I get around to buying them. Enjoy playing the new game!

High Moon as a feedback email listed on the game's webpage. I know they listened to complaints since they fixed an earlier problem regarding lost EXP whenever the host quits the game. Therefore, I decided to send some of my own feedback:
Location: Tucson, AZ
Game Version: PS3
Feedback:
- I'm sure you hear this a lot, but the multiplayer has quite a bit of lag. I'd say one out of four games have severe connection problems and I either quit or get booted due to lost connection to the host. I do not have this problem with Escalation Mode and I did not have this problem when playing the demo on my 360.
- A lot of Escalation and Multiplayer games boot players out because the host has quit. Is it possible to create a patch that adds host migration?
- The game froze for me once on the second day that I played it (Chapter 9 of the Autobot campaign). I never had this problem again but many players on Gamefaqs complain about it happening during both the single and multiplayer modes.
- Rumors leaked of DLC for the XBox Marketplace. If this is true, would it also apply to PS3 and PC users? Escalation only has one map for each faction and this could potentially become a bit repetitive. The number of chassis available for the four Multiplayer classes are uneven (depending on who you pre-ordered), as well. More chassis would make the customization process much more enjoyable, especially since I only have Soundwave's build as my Decepticon leader.
- Would it be possible to add a counter for each campaign chapter that displays your progress regarding collection of all the faction symbols? I'm trying to destroy them all, but it's hard remembering which chapter I completed and whatnot.
- If DLC packs are to be released in the future, it would be fantastic to have one or two more campaign chapters featuring characters that weren't introduced before (i.e.- Jazz, Shockwave, and any other high ranked character). Many G1 fans including myself consider them to be a key factor in the Great War, and were a bit upset when we found out that they were excluded from the campaign. Having an extra mission would increase the game's campaign replay value and satisfy the giddy fanboy inside all of us.
- Please try to convince Hasbro to make a full-fledged toyline off of this game.
- Keep up the good work. I haven't had this much fun playing a third person shooter for a good while now. I really hope that High Moon will continue to listen to players' feedback, and the patching of the lost experience points was a great move on your part. While the ending of this game had pretty good closure, it would be great to have some sort of sequel. War for Cybertron is a good game and I wouldn't want its name to fade within a couple of years.
***OTHER UNIMPORTANT NEWS***
- I went 12-2 in Team Deathmatch using only the Null Ray (and 1 sword kill) on Molten. I got about 4 assists off of that, and I must say that's not too shabby lol. I loved the gun before, but now I really see how important snipers can be in TDM. I only ranked #3 on my team (and the overall lobby), but I love playing the role of a chaos maker. With my scout class, I don't expect to come out on top. I just go deep into enemy territory and break up whatever formation or teamwork that they had going for them. Soldiers and Leaders should have enough time to sweep up the main bulk of the kills by the time I run away or die. After tonight, I may pick up sniping more often in TDM games.
- I jumped in the middle of an Escalation game at Round 4. The top player was Optimus Prime with 30 kills. By the time we all died at about Round 7, Jazz had 83 kills... that was 20 more than the next player. I think this was probably the worst Escalation team I've played with since the bottom guy had 5 deaths and the rest had 2. The next game, I went with Barricade and led the team to Round 9. Wasn't easy, since I revived people like...4 times? It was sort of weird having to constantly worry about how your teammates are holding up. It actually inspired me to drive through every room at breakneck speed just so I can kill enemies before they kill me. I think we were actually getting somewhere (I unlocked all the doors by then) but the host quit so I was sort of disappointed.
Btw, BeastBot. How are you coming along in Multiplayer? I think you have it for the PS3 right? I'll send you a friend request tomorrow and if you live in North America, we'll play together sometime... if not then we'll risk the lag

*comes back from The Real World™*
*not that dumb reality TV show from like forever ago*
*again*
So, ever since like 2005 I thought that the Transformers: Armada game would be the best one ever made, and while the Japanese G1 came was really fun, it didn't come close, and the 2007/2009 Movie Games aren't even worth mentioning, despite my just doing so. That being said.
Holy Swiss Cheese, Batman! While granted, this is similar to Gears of War (minus the cover system), the fact that this is Transformers made me joygasm and made all my IRL friends preform an Eye-Roll attack on my person.
My only real complaint about the game is that the story mode was short. Like, really short. Other than that, the online modes must be some kinda digital narcotic, 'cause I can't stop playing them. I especially love Escalation, mostly 'cause it's an excuse to play as Shockwave.
Also, speaking of Shockwave, you guys know about the upcoming downloadable content, right? Shockwave, Jazz, Demolishor, Onslaught, and Scattorshot will be available for Escalation, their chassis' will be available for character creation, AND two new maps (Havoc, Fortress) for multiplayer, AND two new Escalation maps (District and Forsaken) for more unnecessary violence! Whew.
I love this game.
Xbox 360 ftw.

Is the answer to this question "No"?

Yeah we know, NaitoKage posted about the DLC at the very top of the this page. While I see how some people can compare this game to Gears of War, it plays with a much higher tempo and it personally reminds me of Unreal Tournament 3. Some people have even compared the class system to Team Fortress.
