... I hate to break this to you Starshadow, but you ask any native Japanese person and they would tell you that foreigner names cannot be translated into Japanese, nor should you try. The closest (and most culturally appropriate) thing you can do is write it out in Katagana. Mine is "Kerushi," which has no kanji associated with it.

Yeah, 'cuz that's what the katagana translation would be. But it's still not a proper Japanese name, like, with kanji and special meaning. :( Sorry.

Yep, correct. Ofcourse theres no Kanji for it, well.. there is for the Arch Angel Michael, but for a person's name no. Thats why when people move to japan they usually have to change their name.

Also interesting is looking up your name's meaning. Here's mine in Wiki.

Michael is a given name that comes from the Hebrew: מִיכָאֵל / מיכאל‎ (Mikha'el), meaning "Who is like God?"[1] In English, it is sometimes shortened to Mike, Mikey, or, especially in Ireland, Mick.

Michael is one of the Archangels.

Though my parents didn't know any of that.. my mother just selected them from her favorite bodybuilders and jumbled them around into a long name that wont even fit any computer databases.

Kamikaze, unless you have something decent to add to this thread, don't post. Especially something provocative (not to mention unexplained) like that. :/

Actually, I'm a really dense girl so I wouldn't know what retch means :D Don't explain it to me, I'm afraid I'll be pissed.

Retch is another word for puke. Essentially Kamikaze is being a passive aggressive.

I have had a really bad week, and I am not in the mood to babysit a thread gone bad.

One more off-topic post, *especially* one of a negative nature, and I'm locking this sucker. Capiche? (Don't respond, just please get back to the topic or let this thread die.)
