"More Than Meets The Eye: Part I"
So this was Earth.
He had heard so many stories from this place, yet he had never had the privilege to visit.. until now. And it truly was everything they had said it would be, and more.
The setting sun was still quite warming against his armor as he stood there in the doorway of his ship, taking it all in with an enthusiasm worthy of a child about to receive a gift.
There was a warm breeze in the air on that sunny afternoon, causing the leaves on nearby branches to gently flow in its wake. Some dirt that had been whirled up by the abrupt landing of the Akira got caught in the wind and drifted off far into the distance.
It was quite peaceful here, Nexus told himself as he took a few shaky steps away before turning back to survey the damage done to his beloved vessel. As soon as he did, he almost wished he hadn’t, as the destruction was a lot more severe than he had first anticipated.
Akira was one of the crowning achievements of Maximal ingenuity and only those who held a well-renowned position within their ranks were allowed to board such a magnificent ship. It had been an honor bestowed only upon a select few, one that he had cherished from the moment he had first laid eyes on her beauty, and he had cared for her like he did his own crew back in his days of service.
They had let him keep the ship upon his resignation from his military career to pursue a new life as an explorer, insisting that he had earned it.. earned her.. for his many years of loyal service. Not once had they tried to insinuate that it was because of his heritage, knowing full well that the retired admiral would take offense to such a notion. He didn’t require much persuasion to accept, having formed quite the bond with his beautiful lady who had served him well for so long. By now her controls were like an extension of his own arms, her functions a part of him, her beauty one he still admired to this day..
And now she lay there, broken from the hard impact after an uncontrolled descent, multiple large rifts in the hull that had endured so many battles, a torn off tail wing, and a gaping hole where his captain’s chair had been seated.
Aye, she had seen better days.. It almost seemed unfair that she had sustained so much damage and for the most part all he had to show for the ordeal was a limp and some scratches.
“Any landing you can walk away from, eh, my lady?”
Nexus sighed.
The Akira couldn’t answer him, of course, since the computer system aboard had likely been damaged beyond repair. It was an old habit of his, difficult to shed (and truth be told he wasn’t sure he’d want to). Ever since he stopped bringing a crew with him on his journeys, he had made a habit of talking to her. She had been the closest to a physical friend he had for some time now, after all.
“Well.. Can’t stay out here and do nothing! Time to do me one last favor, old gal.”
He had ventured a long way to come here so that he could meet up with an old friend, travelling through unknown territories and even defying the dreaded quantum surge. In the end the latter had been responsible for downing his precious craft.
The veteran stepped back inside his ship, flicking the emergency signal that would alert any Maximals in the area of his presence.
Hopefully he had not been incorrect in his calculations.

Some distance away a rapidly descending pod plummets towards the ground in an uncontrolled manner. The outer casing of the pod has caught on fire from its trip through the atmosphere, flames engulfing the oddly sturdy shell and its content moments before it crashes against the rocky ground and skips a few times before coming to a halt. The impact is severe enough to cause the pod to open as it finally settles, now smoldering.
A beacon activates, alerting each base of the pod's presence.

( Well, it follows the tradition of the BW ship names to say the least.. if using BW 2 and BW Neo partially as canon, the ship could be similar to the Yukikaze http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Yukikaze_(BWII) or the Gung Ho http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Gung_Ho Here's a list of some of the other ships.. Also, I had no idea there is a Shattered glass version of beast wars? 0_o http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Category:Maximal_starships for ship ideas.
Anyway.. guess I'll post something.)
Sitting in the darkness of his assigned quarters, Umbra appeared to be in a meditative state. Taking slow silent breaths, he cleared his mind, focusing on his surroundings. He could hear the sounds outside of the room as others moved through the halls or discussed in daily activity. Clearing his mind further, he started to try thinking back. The image in his mind flickering, an artifacting image of a hand pushing a item towards him appears in his mind, before it stops with a buzzing noise heard inside his head.
He raises his hand to his head Ug.. Still hasn't come together.. he muttered to himself. His memory still had some holes, why was he on the Axalon? Perhaps he'd never know..
He lifted his head as he then heard some noise outside of his quarters.

Quickstrike let out a low grumble, monitor duty. After teaching him how to use a computer, they then shoved him onto Monitor duty. Normally to any of the predacons it was rather boring, but to a "Bot of action" such as Quickstrike, just staying still was making him antsy. He had much better things to do then sit infront of a screen all day, ladies to flirt with,Maximal keisters to kick!
Quickstrike grumbled louder, raising his arms to swing them down in frustration but stopped as soon as he heard noise come from the console. What the..
He turned in his chair looking back towards Megatron Boss bot, you might wanna take a look at this.
Quickstrike turned back towards the monitor Stasis pod fall in quadrant Delta 5, There also is something else.. something big fell and is releasing some sort of signal.. Ain't got the foggiest what it is tho. Quickstrike scratched his head with one of his Scorpion legs.

Meanwhile outside of the Maximal base, a loud buzzing sound came from the haul with a brilliant flash. Hovering along the side of the Axalon, Landslide made work on arc welding plates over hole in the side of the ship made by Cecaelia awhile back. While it probably would only reduce some incoming damage, atleast it'd keep the rain out of the ship. Taking a welding rod out of his mouth and placing it in the welder's stinger, he placed the rod up to the edge of the plate, running a bead along to the end. After finishing he brushed the crusty flux coating off the weld and pulled the groundclamp off the ship hovering back inspecting the area.
He floated back towards the hanger of the Axalon and landed with a heavy thud, sliding the arc welder stinger and groundclamp away into his torso, he walked in stretching Well that should do it fer now.. he said to himself.
Since he'd arrived, the hanger had changed some, seeming a bit more organized. The Nomad was mostly chopped up at this point with a smaller cargo box like room in one corner, as well as the Nomad's CR chamber just installed in another corner of the hanger. Up against a wall was a pile of heavy plate and scrap metal, with a variety of tools hanging on the wall. Many of it's components stored inside containers for safe keeping incase something else needed to be built.

Optimus Primal sat quietly in his quarters, surrounded by solitude and silence. Often he would play soft classical music to soothe his mind and let the tunes and rhythms carry the weight of every burden off of his shoulders, unless Whitegrazer was with him. Sometimes her company was all he needed to find peace. But neither was the case this time. He diligently worked on his files and logs, updating and revising. Beginning with Aerostriker, a unique individual who was the first targetmaster in this war with Stag included, Optimus stared thoughtfully at his file as he sat in his chair, his head propped up with his chin resting in the palm of his hand and his elbow on his desk. He wished he still had the comrades he had lost. It was so difficult every time because these protoforms were not meant to be soldiers. Many of them were innocent and assigned for different missions. It always felt like he had failed them because he never got them home and didn't keep them safe. If only he hadn't dumped all of them into orbit... And he hoped Dinobot still didn't blame himself for the swift's loss even if they didn't know who his murderer was yet. The Commander slowly clicked on the icon that officially labeled Aerostriker and Stag as deceased and killed-in-action on their profile. Exhaling a deep sigh of sorrow, he moved on to add a new addition to their roster.
Landslide. Where one was lost, another was gained. The large TransMetal beetle appeared to be a helpful and gentle Maximal. He didn't complain about his work, unlike Rattrap, and seemed experienced in his age. He was calm and social but Primal had yet to see how he handled himself in battle. Overall, he liked Landslide and was glad he was part of their team.
Then he looked up the most highly secured file that only he had access to. Whitegrazer had recently accidentally found out about his and the Axalon's darkest secret and it brought back memories of horror and obedience and nightmares. Primal's fingers couldn't help but click on file, type in the password and review it all over again as if he didn't already have it memorized. The screams of agony and terror echoed in his mind with rattling chains and other voices shouting and cursing. Of all the pods he had released, why did he have to let that one go? And it was still out there... identified with a giant red "X" on its lid. The worst part was not knowing where he was and if he was alive.
Meanwhile, on the bridge of the Maximal vessel, Rhinox kept himself busy with his usual duties. It had been a quiet night and slow morning. And then, suddenly, things began to get interesting. A ship's distress signal appeared on the monitor. A ship? With haste, he brought up the details that the Axalon could gather and rubbed his chin in thought before contacting the Maximals' leader through his comm. link. "Optimus, we're picking up a distress signal from a vessel named 'Akira'. It seems to have landed or crashed in grid Beta eight." And just like that, another signal appeared on their scanners. What was going on? "And it seems we have another one coming from a pod in Delta five. It came in hot."
The Commander's spark nearly stopped when his friend's deep voice gave him the report and he forgot about everything that had just been haunting him. Akira...? "That's not possible," he returned with an exasperated tone while he immediately closed Protoform X's file and shut down his computer. It can't be. The signal must be inaccurate. There was no possible way that it could be him. "Check it again," he asked of him while he gathered his thoughts for the pod.
"I did," Rhinox replied. "It's coming from the Akira." Something about the surprise in Primal's voice told him that this was some kind of significance to him.
"On my way." Practically leaping out of his chair, Optimus left his quarters in a hurry and jogged through the corridors toward the command center. He had to see this for himself.
"I take it you recognize this ship?" Rhinox inquired as the Maximal leader entered the large round room.
"And its Admiral," Primal answered him as he came to his side and gazed at the monitor's readings. "I don't believe it." Well, enough wasting time in disbelief.
"Rattrap, take Landslide, Saber-Fang and Wintersong to Delta five for a stasis pod recovery," Optimus ordered through his communication link.
"Whitegrazer, Aurora, Silverbolt, and Orcariner, you're with me for a possible search-and-rescue at the Akira's location in Beta eight," the leader said on their frequencies. "Meet me outside at the bow." ((The front of the ship.)) As he turned away from Rhinox, he gave his old friend a gentle pat on his shoulder in appreciation for his quick response and then stepped to the platform to be lifted down outside. He waited there for the others assuming they wouldn't take their time, reverting to his vehicle mode and hovering about three feet off the ground ready to go.
As for the rodent of the crew, Rattrap heard the ape's orders and yawned. He had been helping Landslide with the electrical and technical parts of the hangar repairs and organization and what they salvaged from the Nomad as well as moving its CR chamber and hooking everything up accordingly. "Nice job on the haul, 'Slide. Sounds like we gotta move out an' get ya on yer first mission with us. ...Should be fun... or interesting," he added sarcastically.
"Saber and Winter, meet me and Landslide at the hangar for departure. ...Now!" he emphasized. The smaller TransMetal walked outside and converted to his vehicle mode, revving his engine as small bursts of flames popped out of his exhaust pipes, waiting for his team to congregate at his location.
(( OOC: Left the team leaders there for others to catch up before they embark on their missions. Maximals who aren't assigned to anything, just hang around the base and socialize until you're called for back-up, or do some reconnaissance. I didn't want to use everyone in case something else comes up that would require a third team while the first two teams are still out in the field. ))

Aurora had been spending some time in the library, which consisted of a single computer with two monitors hooked up to it, and had just finished up her self-assigned homework when she heard noises from someone jogging down the corridor right outside the open door.
Curious, she stepped through the doorway, only to nearly get run down by the fast moving monkey.
Gee, she thought as she took a step back while trying to regain her balance, he sure is in a hurry!
Distracted as he was, she doubted the larger male had even noticed her as he went by. If he did, he made no indication of it, so most likely he had some urgent event going on. Her curiosity increasing, she watched as Optimus rounded the corner and disappeared from sight. Moments later the sound of her communicator turning on caused her ears to perk up in anticipation. At least she didn't have to wait long to find out what was going on.
She vaguely remembered having read something about that name during one of her many quests for knowledge, both of this world and of this Cybertron she had never seen.
Akira was the name of a ship.. Well renowned among the Maximals for its many battles, but more so for the crew it carried. It was an admiral's ship, belonging to one of the few remaining descendants of the Primes.
Wait.. The Akira was here?! How could this be? Did this mean that Cybertron were aware of their situation and had sent their finest to assist?
She typed the name into her wrist-mounted computer to see, only to find that the Akira's current location was listed as unknown.
A secret mission then?
Well.. regardless Optimus was sure in a hurry to find out the answers for himself and Aurora was not about to leave him waiting. She ran down the corridor as quickly as her ermine legs would carry her, reaching the lift just after Optimus had used it to get down to the ground. Not willing to wait for the lift to come back up, Aurora merely spread her wings and tossed herself out through the opening, making a surprisingly elegant glide to the ground below.
She was still unable to fly, but at least she had gotten much better at using her butterfly wings for gliding. In hindsight she probably should have selected sturdier wings capable of carrying more weight and actually produce enough updraft to fly, but part of her loved the joy of feeling the wind underneath her wings as she sailed through the sky.
"Reporting for duty," she told Optimus with a little wink as she walked up the last few feet to where his hoverboard was floating and struggled to climb onto it. It might only have been floating a mere 3 feet off the ground, but that was still more than half of her height in robot form and not an easy task to perform when up close in beast mode. Finally able to grab onto the board with her clawed paws, she hauled herself up and clutched onto Primal's leg. In his new blue monkey form, he didn't have the fur she used to hang onto while riding with him, so she hung on quite tightly to make sure she wouldn't lose her grip. "You don't mind if I catch a ride, right?" she suddenly asked, realizing she had taken his acceptance for granted, as she batted two green eyes at him.
She felt at ease around Optimus and therefor she rarely remembered to do the things his rank automatically called for.
Nemesis had gathered by the monitors, finding a certain level of amusement in watching Quickstrike fumble about on the computers between throwing the occasional flirtatious remark at her and any other female who happened to be close by. Not that she cared much for the fuzor's faulty attempts at drawing attention to himself, but between monitor duty and picking up parts of Waspinator at whatever location he got blown apart at last and bringing him back to base, she much preferred the monitors. At least that way she could keep an eye on what was going on without having to listen to the constant whining of the insect.
Well.. at least that had been her plan initially until the several hours of uneventful guard duty and Quickstrike's seemingly endless repertoire of unabashed flattery had been repeated at least five times. Now it was starting to stretch her patience.
As she was preparing to leave her station, Quickstrike suddenly spoke up about something that was completely unrelated to his appreciation of the female form.
"Judging by the size and the trajectory and speed the object came in at, my guess would be that it's a ship of sorts.. Probably got damaged on impact so that signal might be a distress call," she added, visibly excited by the prospect of something going down finally. "I'd like to do a swift retrieval of the pod before the Maximals get there," she paused to glance at Megatron, "With your permission, of course." She forced a smile as she spoke. As intriguing as the unidentified object was, the recovery of the pod needed to be handled quickly given its close proximity to Maximal territory and she was the fastest flyer available. And with any luck she could be done with that in time to join the others at the supposed ship's crash site.
Well.. that, and the fact she had a feeling the coded message the object was transmitting would have the Maximals swarming the place which would leave the pod free for the taking. Seemed like an easy enough way to get on Megatron's good.. eh.. better.. eh.. less bad side.. If the guy was even capable of feeling gratefulness.
Curious, she stepped through the doorway, only to nearly get run down by the fast moving monkey.

Nemesis tilted her head, looking back at her own monitor only to see the blinking coordinates of the fallen objects as well.Quickstrike wrote:What the..
Boss bot, you might wanna take a look at this.
Stasis pod fall in quadrant Delta 5, There also is something else.. something big fell and is releasing some sort of signal.. Ain't got the foggiest what it is tho.

The darkness..where am I? How long was I asleep? Why am I here? Yes...the exploration crew, the Axalon and the dark secret behind the journey.. What happened? I remember I was supposed to check on the pods and Protoform X's. We had a battle in space, I fell in one of the pods..
Another pod was descending from the sky as the planet's gravity field pulled it when it floated closer and it crashed in a dark misty rainforest where it was raining heavily. The DNA scanners started scanning its surroundings for any native lifeforms and a ghost bat happened to fly past it with a smaller dead bat in its mouth. The lid of the pod was opened and a beast with large translucent wings and ghostly white fur emerged from it but it seemed that it was a little weak.
"Where...am I? What is this place? I'm not in the ship," Xychona crawled out and looked at herself and the area around her, "Primal must've ejected the pods. If I can contact them..."
She switched on her comlinks and spoke, "Dr. Xychona to the Axalon, do you read me?" All she heard was statics, "Anyone on the Axalon, are you on this frequency? .....Are you all out there?" The side of her head emitted sparks, the comlink was broken. She was either too far from the ship or the crew was destroyed, either way she would not stand and wait to find out. Who knows what kinds of danger are on this planet.
I should stay in beast mode to attract less attention... she thought and spread her wings, taking off to the air.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cecaelia was in the Leviathan, cleaning up the bridge and packing her belongings. It took her awhile to find the ship and bringing it up to the surface so that there would be less sea water coming in. At least now she would no longer be Megatron's pawn in war now that she has an opportunity leaving the planet and that was what probably what Glowstick would have wanted her to do. "Whew! I think that's enough for today."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Starshadow was sitting on a hoverboard, thinking about what to do with Cecaelia. Should she kill her as ordered or should she let her live?
"I thought Visia gave you a direct order to execute her. Why aren't you acting on it?" Keres asked.
"I'm....troubled. I have to think for her younger-"
"Have you forgotten how Hell Fang works? We do not care. If she broke the rules, she had to face the consequences.."
"I understand.."
"Good. Now go find yourself a suitable sparing partner..We're starting our training now."
"Who..?"
"What about Cecaelia's battle partner? He seems look like he had a great deal of experience."
Starshadow shrugged and jumped off the hoverboard, landing on the vents and make her way to his quarters.

(Well.. technically Ironclaw will have something to do, though Banshee/Xychona is probably going to be one of the more unusual stasis pods I suppose.
Anyway, reserve wise we have Cheetor, Tigatron, Ironclaw, Saberfang, and Rhinox, depending on how you want to set that up I imagine all of them except Rhinox or Tigatron will be sent out to investigate Banshee. Leaving one behind to defend the Maximal base, or just make sure Sonar doesn't escape and do anything.
Til Wildfire comes back I guess I can cover Cheetor if you want. )
Landslided nodded and followed Rattrap outside I'll try my best to keep up lad. , the larger robot then fell forward transforming to his vehicle mode, waiting for the others before departing. He looked towards Rattrap Ya know lad.. considering all these stasis pods yer group has collected.. you must be amazing at scavenger hunts.

As the leviathan floated at sea, the navigation computer came online, the ship surprisingly moving itself while activating it's bilge pumps to drain water from the cargobay. As it moved, the screen displayed something of a surprising image to Cecaelia outside of the ship, the ocean water glowed blue in the night and along an island shore. Coming closer to the shore, the ship went under the water, heading directly for a rock wall.
Coming even closer, the rock wall retracted while the Leviathan slowly entered into a tunnel, with the rockwall closing behind. Surfacing in the undersea cave, lights came on around the interior revealing a series of platforms with one area being a computer lab sort of area, while the two held two large objects, one of which was very familiar to Cecaelia. Her old ship repaired to it's former glory. Next to it was a strange looking craft, almost looking like it was half completed.
Finally a familiar voice spoke up in a very monotone manner Are you ready to leave Cecaelia?

- Location: Precicpice of insanity
Wintersong lifted her sword slightly, carefully checking the curved, jagged edges and being certain they were sharp as she could get them. She had spent the past hour sharpening her swords and the tip of her tail whip followed by polishing them and being certain they were battle ready at any given notice. Among helping out with repairs to the ship and doing patrols she was always being sure from now on that she was ready for almost anything, perhaps not everything but about as ready as any warrior could be on the Axalon. Placing her swords upon her back again and the tail whip around her waist the transmetal white tigress stood from her bed and moved over to her weapon rack which currently now only held her laser rifle.
Picking up the weapon she made sure it was loaded with ammo before placing it in the compartment in her leg and double checking her wrist launchers. Everything was loaded and ready, now she just needed to wait for something to actually happen. Though it wasn't long before she began hearing some commotion outside her room making the femme move towards the door which slid open with a hiss, Wintersong stepping out into the hall and look towards the direction of the bridge. It would be the best place to start to see what was going on...until she heard Rattrap order her to meet up with him and the others. "On my way rat," Wintersong responded before making her way towards the hanger instead and not taking long to arrive. Though when she saw Landslide she figured this was the new Maximal that had joined them recently, the same day they had lost Aerostriker if she remembered correctly.
"Beast mode,"Wintersong commanded towards her internal computer before she transformed to her tiger form with a low growl before walking over to join the two males, "So, what's our mission today?"She inquired curiously as she turned her amber optics towards them.
--------------------
Well this place certainly hadn't taken long to get use to. It reminded Spineback so much of the Decepticons back in the day she found herself making a rather easy transition into this group of Predacons. But she quickly had learned they were also no different from their ancestors; they were rather clever, treacherous, untrusting, wicked, all that she had remembered during her brief serving of the Decepticon ranks. Although, the place where the Darkside had landed didn't exactly sit well with the femme, possibly stemming from the own beast form since she had learned a bit more of the creature she had taken the form of and with it's aquatic traits this wasn't exactly an ideal place. But she wasn't going to complain. She knew what could happen if she did or question her new commander, he had made it clear the day her pod crashed that he ruled with an iron fist and wouldn't be afraid to dish out punishments accordingly so she kept to being obedient and loyal and taking this new life in full stride.
But as she was exploring the ship once more to know the layout much more she heard the sound of the fuzor, Quickstrike followed by another femme who was also among the crew. Her curiosity peaked Spineback made her way towards the command room and stepped onto a hover board which was a common way to get around many places of the base mostly due to the fact one wrong step could send someone plummeting into the laval pools below. Maneuvering the board towards the monitors the dino femme listened intently and was quite looking forward to a real mission, not counting her own crash landing a little while before. "A ship and two pods, this will be an interesting day." She commented with obvious interest.

Silverbolt soared high above the plains a few klicks away from the Axalon. With the fair weather, he had taken the opportunity to proceed with a routine patrol. He sniffed at the air, enjoying the cool breeze. Another promising day for him and his Maximal comrades, he hoped. Suddenly, a meteor entered the upper atmosphere and lit up the afternoon sky... except this was no meteor. Silverbolt shielded his eyes while trying to catch a glimpse of the object. As it grew larger in his field of view, he could make out some of the sleek details. It was a ship! As he studied the ship burning through the atmosphere, a startling and dire realization occurred to him... IT WAS HEADED RIGHT THIS WAY! Silverbolt's optics barely had time to express his alarm as he banked and dove in a desperate bid to get clear of the ship's trajectory.
Silverbolt managed to avoid the ship, but as it passed over him faster than the speed of sound he was unable to avoid the shockwave. Feathers were ripped from his wings as he was thrown into a violent tumble from the turbulence. Silverbolt went plummeting towards the ground out of control in a broad arc. Mere feet from the ground, Silverbolt was able to reorient himself and tried desperately to recover from the dive. Instead, he only managed to flatten the angle at which he inevitably impacted the ground. Silverbolt slid along the ground in a rather undignified moon moon-esque crash. The impact left him dazed and damaged.
Attempting to stand, Silverbolt realized that his internal gyroscope was upset by the severe turbulence and had not yet been able to reset. He stumbled to his hands and knees. It wasn't long before his damaged comms crackled to life.
Damaged transceiver or not, he had to get a message out. "Maximal base, this is Silverbolt." He paused for a moment, unsure how to relay that he nearly got run over by a UFO. "I've had a... close encounter with a ship of some kind. I've had no contact with survivors thus far. I am going to investigate further, will advise."
His transceiver let out a final crackle and spark, followed by the arid aroma of burning electronics. And silence. He heard nothing on the comm frequencies, not even static. Looks like the entire system would need a tear down and rebuild from Aurora or Rhinox. Silverbolt was unsure how much, if any, of his final message would be received by the Maximal base.
With nothing better to do, Silverbolt dutifully set out in the direction of the crashed ship.

Silverbolt sighed. The crash had trashed his transceiver. How long had he been down? Had it been so long since his last check-in that his comrades were coming to rescue him? It didn't seem that long... but perhaps his chronometer was also damaged in the crash. When his gyroscope finally came online, Silverbolt stood up and surveryed the damage. His flight control servos had taken some damage, but in a dozen cycles his internal repairs should have him flightworthy again. He could see the crashed ship in the distance."Whi...................ilverbolt, and O...............................possible............rescue............................Beta eight,"

Whitegrazer wasn't in her room like normal. Standing inside the holonet, on the exact spot where Optimus and she had sparred and shared something very private, she was trying to gather her thoughts about those events which took place here. Something was familiar about that red X she had seen. At first, she didn't understand, but the emotions from the battle and between them may have interfered. Now that she was free of such emotions of the moment, she was able to think clearly. That red X was something she remembered seeing several solar cycles. It was a fleeting moment. But still, there lingered a slight revulsion at the letter. She had seen and read many things in her lifetime. She may have read it from her connections or media speculation. Of course, she couldn't trust what was said in the media. All of it was just a sea of lies with the truth buried deep within. What she felt from Optimus wasn't a moment of fleet, but a personal wound. Something he didn't want to be known nor discovered. At least, if he didn't need to. There was no point in assuming anything. She had nothing to go on but what she felt from Optimus.
She had to be patient. And if there was something she was good at, it was patience. She chuckled at herself. Though, she still felt sorry for digging up such powerful emotions from Optimus. She knew better then to let her abilities do such a thing. Her abilities have been coming with surprises lately. It was great to see that maybe she will return whole, but also, it was quite distracting when the abilities revealed their potential at such a moment where it was not needed.
Looking up, her thoughts wandered to something else. The aliens. She wondered if they knew they had failed in their attempt to destroy this planet. She was disappointed that the aliens used such an action. In her optics, it was inexcusable. Such destruction and all for what? To cover up what they were doing here? What were they hoping to accomplish here on Earth? What was so dangerous--
You are planning something else, aren't you?
She sighed. Of course, they were. She made her way towards the outside to see Aurora clinging to Optimus' leg, which made her smile. She gave a smile to Optimus, tilting her head abit.

She was about to exit out of the holonet when an otherworldly growl caused her to look back up. It was so close that she thought maybe it was TyCross, but it didn't sound like him at all. Almost felt like a warning."Whitegrazer, Aurora, Silverbolt, and Orcariner, you're with me for a possible search-and-rescue at the Akira's location in Beta eight," "Meet me outside at the bow."
You are planning something else, aren't you?

((OOC: I'll guess I'll go ahead and start posting in this thread while we wait for the fighting to start in the previous one.))

Orcariner was outside of the Maximal base for a change. Hovering in the air, he practiced maintaining balance in his helicopter mode with the auto-pilot systems disengaged. It was fine and dandy having a program that could take him from one place to another, but such a system was useless in the middle of combat. If Orcariner wanted to be more of an asset as opposed to a liability, he would have to start working on flying on his own.
Descending from the sky, Orcariner admired the ripple effect his propellers had on the dirt below him. It was rather beautiful and now that he actually knew how to properly land, the orca felt rather elegant in his motions. This particular feeling usually only arose when he was swimming, and it never occurred when he was walking with his two bulky legs. Transforming into his robot mode, Orcariner felt both feet press into the ground with tremendous force. There was nothing elegant about the effect his footsteps had on land. They exhibited raw physical power and weight, but nothing more. As he approached the front of the ship, the Maximal sentry immediately longed to be in the air again. It was ironic considering how much he held a disdain for flyers a year ago. Now, he realized that he was merely envious of the way they could gracefully dance in the sky. Orcariner did not fly with finesse by any means, but at least he was able to escape the feeling of being heavy. It was like swimming, but with much more freedom.
"Orcariner, reporting in. I'm ready to fly out whenever you guys are."
He truly meant every word.

Optimus further instructed them to meet him at the bow of the ship, and Orcariner tilted to his side in order to steer himself in the proper direction. Flying was getting easier now, especially in part due to Aerostriker's instruction files. It was rather strange, having a Maximal who made a significant impact on his life despite having only lived for such a short period of time on this planet. It saddened the flying orca that he did not have the opportunity to get to know his teammate better before his death.Optimus Primal wrote:"Whitegrazer, Aurora, Silverbolt, and Orcariner, you're with me for a possible search-and-rescue at the Akira's location in Beta eight,"

(( OOC: My previous IC post has been edited. I liked your suggestion, NK, so I'm going with those.
For clarification, the Maximal teams are...
Akira mission: Optimus, Orcariner, Whitegrazer, Aurora and Silverbolt
Unknown pod: Rattrap, Wintersong, Landslide, and Saber-Fang
Banshee's pod: Dinobot, Ironclaw, Airazor and Cheetor ))
Seeing Whitegrazer appear almost made the world stop turning. After everything he had been through lately especially losing Aerostriker and Stag, she always made his spark and mind calmer when he saw her. A part of it was their connection but another part was trust and the care they shared for one another. This particular morning had lead him to seclusion so his troublesome thoughts could filter through his mind when he had focused on updating data and profiles, and where he could mourn alone in privacy. Aside from Aerostriker's recent death there was everything with Sonar and Saber-Fang, his concerns for Orcariner who now knew who killed Icebreaker, Protoform X's pod that was out there somewhere and the dark secrecy he had behind it, and now the incredible appearance by the Akira. Despite all of that, though, Primal tried pushing it aside and hiding the burdens like he usually did so his comrades didn't have to worry and so he could concentrate on the present and everything that had get done in that moment of time. However, he detected some distraction in Whitegrazer's thoughts as well. He wondered what could be worrying her but decided not to address it right then.
Like his disguises, she also wore masks for the same reason. Seeing the mare smile and tilt her head at Aurora clinging to Optimus, he joked, "You know I have a bad habit of picking up hitchhikers."
"Optimus, Silverbolt just reported in. His communication link was a little scrambled but I think he's already over in the Akira's general area. I'll try to contact him and let him know you're on the way," the rhinoceros told him through his own comm. link.
"Copy that, Rhinox. We're departing now."
"Maximal Base to Silverbolt, this is Rhinox. Optimus is on his way," he tried responding but heard nothing in return. Slag! The Fuzor's personal radio must have been scrapped. And that wasn't a good thing if the Predacons were on their way.
Suddenly, a second alert sounded on the screens for an additional pod that had been activated. "Another one?" Rhinox asked himself out loud. Similar to Silverbolt's situation, the occupant was unable to contact the Axalon. "Dinobot, there are already two teams assembled for search and rescues so I'll need you to lead another one for a stasis pod that was recently activated in Sector Theta. You should take Airazor, Ironclaw and Cheetor with you," he radioed to him.
"Silverbolt may already be in the vicinity so we best make haste," Optimus told his group, looking at them before he ascended higher toward the sky and blasted off making sure Aurora was holding on alright.
-----
For clarification, the Maximal teams are...
Akira mission: Optimus, Orcariner, Whitegrazer, Aurora and Silverbolt
Unknown pod: Rattrap, Wintersong, Landslide, and Saber-Fang
Banshee's pod: Dinobot, Ironclaw, Airazor and Cheetor ))
Optimus looked down at Aurora and was about to lower himself a little more so she could reach easier but she had already stretched up and climbed onto his board with him in persistence and determination. He smiled lightly at the ermine Fuzor with his shiny, blue face and gently placed his hand on the back of her head in a nurturing manner to acknowledge her. "That face and those eyes leave me no choice but to graciously accept your company," he said lightheartedly with a soft chuckle. Feeling her front legs wrap around his leg for security, he looked to the others who came to join them."Reporting for duty," "You don't mind if I catch a ride, right?"
"Well, Orcariner, I'm pleased to see you embracing your flight abilities more and more," the Commander said as he watched the flying orca descend to their group. And he sounded eager to get rolling. Knowing that Orcariner had been practicing with it gave Optimus more confidence in his aerial maneuvers for combat. It also gave him more assurance that the TransMetal whale wasn't entirely focused on Steelclaw."Orcariner, reporting in. I'm ready to fly out whenever you guys are."
Inside the Axalon, Rhinox was receiving a message from Silverbolt but it was broken up. He couldn't understand why since his reconnaissance shouldn't have been too far from the base. Did he just say he nearly got run over by a ship? The Akira? He knew he was part of Primal's team, so he relayed what he could make out of it to the leader outside."Maximal ba-... this ... Silverbolt." "I've had a... close ... a ship of some ... no contact with surv-... far. I am going to invest-... will advise."

Rattrap tilted his head at Landslide and said in reference to his rodent beast mode, "Tah! It comes instinctual to me, pal," and shared a proud, toothy grin as if no one else on the crew could come close to his scavenging skills. Since the former General was on their team, Rattrap made sure to pack some tranquilizers like Icebreaker used to when they'd be out in the field. Never can be too careful. But hopefully Saber would have a good day, especially since Sonar wouldn't be around to bother her.I'll try my best to keep up lad. Ya know lad.. considering all these stasis pods yer group has collected.. you must be amazing at scavenger hunts.
"We got another pod ta rescue before our Predhead neighbors get a hold of it. De usual, you know," Rattrap explained to Wintersong while they waited for Saber-Fang to join them."So, what's our mission today?"
"Well, that's just prime!"

Saber was in the middle of her third attempt atmeditation when her comm buzzed loudly. Sighing in annoyance she answered it, her ears went back when she heard the ever annoying voice of Rattrap.
The door to her quarters slide open as she approached, they closed behind her as she left.
She paused for a moment when she past the door to the brig. Sonar was still there, she wondered if he was still blind. She shook her head before heading to the hanger.
"Yeah, I'll be right there." She grumbled before getting off the berth."Saber, meet me and Landslide at the hanger for departure... Now."

"Well, that sounds like fun." She said sarcastically as she joined them, she clearly wasn't in a good mood today.".... Pod to rescue before our Predhead neighbors get a hold of it. The usual."
"The enemy of my enemy is my bro."

OOC: Hey guys, I wasn't sure which players & which preds were available for gameplay, so I'm open to suggestions on where you'd like Megatron to send your characters this time around, since it'll also let me know who's active these days lol. Hope that helps.
Megatron had been mentally assessing his plans for the day, namely compensating for the loss of the new energon mine due to the incompetence of the arachnids, including Quickstrike, so initially he wasn't pleased to hear his annoying cowboy drawl, until he heard "stasis pod" and then gave the fuzor his undivided attention.
"Hhhmmm, very well Nemesis, you may recover the pod for me, but you shall be accompanied by several other flyers and at least one who knows how to reprogram protoforms so that you and the new recruit can join the rest of us in acquiring the ship. It is essential that the maximals not receive any additional reinforcements, let alone a means by which to escape this planet & inform Cybertron of our whereabouts before this war has been won" Megatron replied, knowing Nemesis was fast enough to reach the pod alone but knowing she may need backup to deal with maximal resistance so deep into their territory, plus, she was far less likely to pull something on him with witnesses by her side.
Megatron was thrilled about the stasis pod, especially given the mixed results of their last pod hunt, acquiring the powerful & competent ex-decepticon Spineback but also the incompetent Buster in the process, as well as having yet another traitor, Onyx, slither through the cracks into Primal's arms.
"Well well, when it rains, it pours, Yessss...Attention all predacons, report to the bridge immediately, we have two stasis pods and a fallen maximal vessel to contend with today, I expect all of you to be on hand and at the ready for this mission, we MUST prevent the maximals from increasing their numbers, or receiving any kind of support from Cybertron. Also, this is a golden opportunity for those of you who performed poorly during the last mission to redeem yourselves...I suggest you make the best of this chance, some of you may not get another. That is all" Megatron spoke on the ship's com, deciding in his head who'd be best suited for what task, and who needed to be carefully supervised and watched above all others to avoid treachery or incompetence.
"Finally, some action!" Terrorsaur crowed, descending from his perch up in the rafters, eager for another chance to win over a new recruit, as well as to slag some maximals.
NaitoKage wrote: Quickstrike let out a low grumble, monitor duty.

Phoenix wrote: Nemesis tilted her head, looking back at her own monitor only to see the blinking coordinates of the fallen objects as well.

Naitokage wrote: Quickstrike listened to Nemesis, then looked back towards the screen Well now hold up! We got ourselves another pod on our hands as well.. bit further out too..
While this was going on, Umbra silently listened to the echos of the voices in the hall, only to be disrupted by Starshadow's footsteps. Hm.. sounds like things are going on.. he thought to himself, an opportunity for the mercenary to work at least.

The sun rose over the landscape near the Darksyde as Inferno took it upon himself to volunteer for guard duty....as he usually did. No one else was much interested in such a menial task, but to Inferno, he lived for protecting the Colony and besides, he knew that it would be protected if he was the to do the honors. He quietly marched up and down the side of the ship closest to the Maximal base. Any intruders were most likely to come from that direction, after all. His sensors were on full alert as he turned on his heel to march back in the opposite direction. He paused when he heard the Royalty's voice on the comms. He snapped to attention and threw a salute even though he knew Megatron wouldn't see it. Respecting the Queen while in front of the Queen is important, but it was just as important when he was not around! He lived to serve.
Inferno lowered his salute and clicked on his comm link.
"Yes, my Queen!" Inferno responded. "I am on my way!" He clicked off his comm link and entered the base.
Inferno turned down a few hallways before arriving at the Bridge in the Royalty's presence. He threw Megatron another salute and announced proudly, "Sub-commander Inferno reporting for duty!" He lowered his salute, but remained at attention awaiting his next orders.

Dinobot's anger at Aerostriker's passing had significantly subsided. Although he was much more at ease with the events of the previous day, the questions of fate still played in his mind. What role did fate play in one's life? How much could one do to change their own fate? Did he make his choices because he was predestined to do so, if so, then was he really making the decisions in his own life or...was there some other power responsible for those decisions? Dinobot would have liked to think that he was the master of his own destiny, but what if he was not?
Dinobot's head swam with all of these questions so he had ventured out to the wilds early that morning for a little target practice. He had used a variety of weapons; some of them his own, some of them just picked at random from the Maximal base's armory. He was just returning the borrowed weapons to their proper place when Rhinox radioed him over his comms.
Dinobot clicked on his comm link. "Understood. I will have them meet me on the bridge and we will head out right away. Dinobot out."
Dinobot had planned to take the alien golden disk to Rhinox later that day once he felt more calm, but with so much search and rescue going on, it would not have been appropriate to do so. He thought that maybe Rhinox, with all of his technical experience and knowledge, would be able to make some sense of the disk than he had. Perhaps, he could find an answer to some of the many questions that burned in his core processor. He, of course, had downloaded the contents of the disk to his personal hard drive so that he could continue to study the disk on his own.
Dinobot clicked on his comm link once again to address the others in his party. "Dinobot to Airazor, Ironclaw and Cheetor. We have been asked to assemble at once for stasis pod retrieval. Meet me on the bridge. We must leave immediately. Dinobot out,"
Once he clicked off his comm link, he headed up to the bridge to await the arrival of the other members of his party.
