Forgotten Knowledge

Disclaimer: I do not own the Beast Wars or Rattrap, Rhinox, Silverbolt and Optimus.  I didn’t know much of Rattrap’s Brooklyn accent so therefore, didn’t know if I should’ve used it or not.  I swear, I’ll try to learn!

Therefore, whenever Rattrap’s speaking his Beast Mode’s language, he doesn’t have any trace of an accent.  The squirrel I used in this story belongs to me!  The plot too!  Hasbro owns the Beast Wars and the Beast Warriors.

Is it: I think, therefore I am or I am, therefore I think?  I dunno.  Maybe I have ‘Forgotten Knowledge’ too! =^_^= Or maybe I just need a psychiatrist. 0_o

Summary: Follow Tree-Climber as she makes new friends and enemies, insults Megatron and gets away with it (Who woulda thought that was possible?o_0), drives even Waspinator crazy, and annoys the heck outta everyone in the Beast Wars!  She does everything her own way no matter what the consequences!  Her story is like nothing you've ever read before!

She stepped out of a silvery container.  She wanted to be as far away as possible.  Why?  Why did she want to be far away from the container?  She didn’t know but her instincts told her to.  Who was she?  She was a squirrel and nothing more.

She ran into the forest but somehow managed to scramble up a tree when she heard strange noises.  The ant and wasp in the field were making it.  They were bigger than the other wasps and ants she had seen before and they were moving their mouths and making the strange noises.

She wanted to make them too.  She wanted to be able to communicate in that strange noise that they seemed to know, like some sort of code.  But her instincts told her to hide.  Suddenly, the ant and wasp turned into shiny things!

They were able to have long legs and long arms, and unlike her, still knew how to make the strange noises and were able to stand on their legs.

She knew that she had once known how to speak the strange noises they were using, but didn’t know how.  It made her crazy just thinking about it.  The shiny things made the noises once more and went away.  She calmed down.  She crept slowly down the tree and looked around, her ears twitching and moving every which way to make sure that she was safe.

She looked down and felt a tingle of pleasure, but why?  She didn’t know, but it felt good to stand on her hind legs.  She fell down on all fours after a while and scampered to a large tree where her instincts told her was safe to hide.

She spotted a rat a tiny bit bigger than her size at a distance in a field.  She chittered to it, but realizing that the chittering would make her easy prey she stopped.  Trust- what was it?  Was it what she felt to it?  She didn’t know but continued on her journey to the large tree.

She scampered up a tree and looked down at the large tree’s trunk.  The tree she was on was nowhere near the height of the large one, but it was enough to make herself believe that she was safe.  She gasped at what she saw.  That rat she had seen earlier, it was making the strange noises to a monkey- was it an ape?  It was hard to tell at a distance- an eagle- or was it a wolf?- and a rhino.

She hesitated but knew she had to get it over with one way or another.  She scampered down the tree to a few metres away from the large tree and the other animals.  They noticed her and started making the noises.  The rat stayed silent and watched her with searching eyes.

Then, before her eyes, all of them transformed into shiny things!  Her first intent was to run away but the rat’s eyes made her want to stay.  She trusted him.  He was a friend.  She felt close to him, as though they were related somehow.  She didn’t want to run away anymore.  She wanted to be just like them.

The sounds the creature made seemed...almost...familiar to her. A slight lifting of the dark hand over her mind, maybe? A narrow opening, an almost memory?

She concentrated on the sounds, letting herself relax. If she at one time knew it, then surely her BODY remembered how to make noises like the ones the shiny creatures were making? If she could just mimic the sounds the shiny creature in front of her seemed to think were so important...

She might as well try it.  She had nothing to lose.  But, could a normal squirrel like her do anything these shiny things could do?  She hesitated but the trust- what did it mean?- that was inside her, helped her.  The sounds came out of her mouth and for a second, she thought she had failed.

A squirming of her insides changed that feeling.  A few seconds later, she wasn’t a normal squirrel anymore.  She was something else.  She looked down and saw that she was just like them.  They spoke even more of the strange sounds to her, but she merely cocked her head to the side to the rat and chittered questioningly in their language.

The rat seemed to understand.  He spoke some strange sounds to the other shiny things and they all quieted down. “What’s your name?” he asked in their language.  She thought for a second.  If the tail had still been there, it would have twitched in anticipation.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t there.  She concentrated and finally chose one that suited her.

I am Tree-Climber.” She replied.  He nodded understandingly.

Follow us, Tree-Climber.  We are going back to base.”

Base?!!?  What is a base?” she asked worriedly.

Don’t worry, you’ll know when Rhinox- he’s the rhino- is finished with you.” He answered.  Seeing the scared look she gave him, he tried to calm her down. “He won’t hurt you.  I promise.  Please, will you trust me?”  She looked at him, unsure of what to trust.  Should she trust her instincts or him?

“I trust you.” She replied, and followed him as he turned back into a rat.  He made the noises and sounds to the other shiny things and they made them too.  Finally, he guestured for her to follow him and she did.

She trusted him.  And all her lost knowledge would be brought back to her once again.  She wouldn’t have any more, ‘Forgotten Knowledge’, she was sure of that.
