Note: Starath has been on my
mind a lot, ever since I’ve been out of touch with everyone. She and
Sapphire both. I mean, I miss all the rest of you, and I’m hoping to get in
touch with you all as soon as I can, but right now, I can’t. If this gets on
the web soon, then I’m happy, but I can’t shake the feeling that I have to
get in touch with those two soon. I’m praying for you all, and I love you
all.

It’s
easier to run
Replacing
this pain with something numb
Starath
looked to her mirror the moment she entered her room, and saw that Megatron
was there, reprimanding someone. She pressed her face against the glass,
making faces at the tyrant’s back, causing Terrorsaur to snicker. Before the
larger Transmetal could pull his arm back to hit the insolent Predacon, small,
fleshed arms wrapped around it, and held on. He lifted his limb anyway, and
saw the girl. “You again.”
It’s
so much easier to go
Than
face all this pain here all alone
Starath
smiled, and nodded. “Yep! Why else would I be here, other than to annoy
you?”
Megatron
snorted, and let her stand upon her own. “Starath, Terrorsaur, Terrorsaur,
Starath. Introductions over, yes. Terrorsaur, get your mangy hide out of my
sight, before I re-think my punishment. This truce is not to be
breached, understand?!”
Something
has been taken
From
deep inside of me
Terrorsaur
nodded, smiled fleetingly at the human, and left. Starath grinned up at
Megatron. “He nearly killed the truce?”
“Nearly,
and his antics prove to be more and more annoying with each passing day.”
Megatron growled, then cut loose with a rumbling belch.
Starath
merely blinked once, then said, “Good lunch?”
“Hmph.”
A
secret I’ve kept locked away
No
one can ever see
Megatron
sighed, and said, “How are things progressing with Dinobot and Sinead?”
“They’re
up to their necks in planning and paperwork. But they’re both happy.”
Starath smiled, and said, “They want to come and say hi to everyone here,
but none of the mirrors that do this are close to her. I live half-way across
a continent from her, and Sapph lives on a completely different continent.
I’m hoping that one picks up soon, and will be closer to her.”
“But
for who?”
Wounds
so deep they never show
They
never go away
Starath
didn’t answer, but instead looked at the tyrant. “You hurt. Don’t try to
cover it up. I know that you hurt, that you’re wounded somewhere.”
Megatron’s
brow furrowed, and he sat in a chair, looking over at her. “Nowhere
physical, no.”
“Tell
me. Please. You know that I won’t tell anyone else.”
Like
moving pictures in my head
For
years and years they’ve played
After
a brief moment of silence, a sigh, and finally, sitting upon the edge of his
tup, Megatron replied. “Dinobot never forgave me. I never asked him to.”
“What
happened between you two?”
“You
wouldn’t understand. You’re still too young.”
“Try
me. I’m not as young as I act.”
If
I could change I would
Take
back the pain I would
Retrace
every wrong move that I made I would
Megatron
sighed, and said, “We were classmates, all those years ago, and we remained
friends until the Disk incident. You know of the stealing of the Golden Disk
and all that, yes?”
“Yeah.
But what divided you two?”
“Let
me take my time. I’ve never told anyone this, no.”
If
I could stand up and take all the blame I would
If
I could take all the shame to the grave I would
Starath
walked over to him, and sat upon the ground before him, completely intent upon
what he was saying. He watched her, noting something in her blue eyes that
belied her innocent nature. She knew about betrayal, all right. She knew it
well. Megatron cleared his throat, and continued.
“We
were in the final stages of preparation. Even now, I don’t know what it was
that drove us apart. I had thought that it was because of the fact that we
were going behind the Tripredacus Council’s back, to steal this, but
elsewhere in my mind, something said that it was because of some girl. I
think, anyway. She seemed to both like myself and him, yes, but I do not
understand how she could tolerate either one of us. She turned upon him, due
to something, and instead gravitated towards me.”

“So
a girl tore you two apart?”
“Yes.”
“And
broke his heart in the process.”
“Again,
correct. That is one of the reasons why, I believe. He never was fond of
stealing, either. His sense of honor was heightened moreso than any other
Predacon I have met, or even myself.”
It’s
so much easier to go
Than
face all this pain here all alone
“What
about Silverbolt? He was a Predacon.”
“He
has Maximal honor, not Predacon honor. I only tampered with his access codes,
not his personality, as a Predacon chip would have done.”
“Oh.”
Sometimes
I remember
The
darkness of my past
Megatron
rubbed at his optics wearily, and replied, “I hope that someday I can figure
this slagging mess out.”
The
perimeter alarm went off.
With
a swift movement, Megatron stood in front of Starath, blocking her from the
door, glaring at the thing. But . . . the voice was behind him.
Bringing
back these memories
I
wish I didn’t have
“You
. . . sure that’s Starath?”
“Duh,
D. Who else would it be?”
They
both spun, and the auburn-haired girl smiled shyly, blushing. “You forgot I
was going on a road trip, didn’t you, Star?”
“SINEAD!!!”
Sometimes
I think of letting go
And
never looking back
They
embraced, and She took the human male’s arm, tugging him forward.
“Starath, meet Dinobot.”
“He’s
so cute!”
“Slaggit,
don’t say that! I have enough trouble with other females! Sinead, tell
her.” The dark-haired boy was blushing furiously, allowing long hair to
partially cover his reddened cheeks. He hid his face with one hand, sighed,
removed it, and then looked up at Megatron. “Slag. You really are as tall as
Starath said. In comparison to humans, that is.”
Sinead
chuckled, and looked up at Megatron. “We heard everything.”
And
never moving forward so
There
would never be a past
Megatron
looked to Dinobot. “Well? What was it?”
Before
he could answer, a beep came in on the visual comm. Megatron turned it on,
growled, “One moment, slaggit!” and was about to shut it off, when he saw
that it was Optimus. “Oh, slag. What now?”
“Rhinox
noted that there was an unusually large anomaly spike over there. I was just
checking to make sure that you didn’t throw Terrorsaur through the
mirror.”
If
I could change I would
Take
back the pain I would
Retrace
every wrong move that I made I would
Sinead
laughed, and pulled herself up to the screen. Dinobot stood beneath her,
letting her prop her feet upon his shoulders. “No, only me and Dinobot
coming over to say hi. We’re on a road trip to Florida, and decided to
detour through a few odd states. We managed to stop at Starath’s, and I saw
that the mirror was active, so . . . well . . . old habits die hard,
concerning me jumping through mirrors.”
She
noted a scramble, and then Rattrap was at the screen. “He pulled up da guts
ta ask you?!”
“Uh,
yeah.”
“Where
da Pit is dat slaggin’ roadkill-breath?!”
If
I could stand up and take all the blame I would
If
I could take all the shame to the grave I would
Megatron
caught Sinead, as Dinobot leapt up, and started yelling in return, having a
grand old time arguing, as he held on. With a sigh, the tyrant pulled over a
stool, and placed it beneath Dinobot’s suspend form. “Stand up, and argue
properly.”
Dinobot
looked at the tyrant for a second, then turned back towards Rattrap. “Where
were we?”
“’Ya
’re an idiot dat should rot for cheating!”
“Oh,
and as if you don’t cheat?!”
Just
washing it aside
All
of the helplessness inside
Sinead
looked to Megatron, ignoring the arguing pair, and smiled. “You and he were
too close at the time. I’ve had friends like that. Sometimes we need time to
ourselves, or with other friends. Then we pick up our friendship where it left
off.”
“That
was it?”
Dinobot
turned, his blue eyes secretive. “I’ll tell you everything in a moment.”
He turned back, and nearly fell off of the stool. “Who the Pit are you?!”
“Dinobot?
Where’s Sinead?”
Pretending
I don’t feel misplaced
Is
so much simpler than change
The
girl leapt up to talk with Sapphire, as Starath leaned against Megatron’s
leg, smiling at the antics of the pair, as well as Sapphire and Rattrap. Soon,
though, things wound down, and Sapphire and Rattrap had to go, and talk about
something or another. Sinead smiled, and said to Optimus, “Rattrap looks
better. More alive than he had been.”
“He’s
faring better. And you and Dinobot?”
“Working
upon finding a name. I like Donovan, he likes this, that, or the other, but he
tosses them aside easily.”
“Hmm
. . . I’d say that you’ll find something soon. Keep in touch.”

“We
will. Take care, Op,” Sinead replied.
Dinobot
smirked. “Don’t let Rattrap get too out of hand.”
Optimus
smiled. “I’ll leave that up for Sapphire to take care of.”
It’s
so much easier to go
Than
face all this pain here all alone
The
comm disconnected, and Sinead sat upon the large stool with Dinobot. Megatron
looked at his old friend. “Well?”
“It
wasn’t the girl. I willingly turned her away, having a feeling that I would
find someone later on. It was partially the stealing, partially going behind
those stiffs’ backs, and then you never knew what the real reason was, did
you?”
“That’s
what I’m wanting to know, yes.”
It’s

“You
were becoming insane with your ambitions. Unsafe to be around. I not only
feared for my own safety, but for the rest of the team. I was your
second-in-command once, so I knew about all this. You know that as well. Maybe
soon you’ll see how hazardous some of your plots have been, over the
years.”
Before
anything else could be said, Terrorsaur burst in with Waspinator. They looked
at the three humans, and stopped. Sinead smiled. “Don’t worry, Dinobot and
I are only visiting.”
“D-Dinobot?!”
Terrorsaur screeched. Sinead indicated the man beside her. Terrorsaur blinked,
and then looked him over, then smirked playfully. “You’re still not as
good-looking as I am.”
Take
back the pain I would

Dinobot
snorted, and laughed, then replied, “As if I will ever be in your vain
optics, you slagging rogue.”
“Haven’t
changed much, either.”
“You
expect me to?”
“Lizard-bot
really you?”
“Who
else would I be, Waspinator? I’m certainly not dead. I have too many things
to take care of before I leave this life.” Dinobot’s voice was oddly
gentle and reassuring. Waspinator gave the impression of grinning, then nodded
his head once, acknowledging the statement.
It’s

Sinead
looked to her watch. “Speaking of leaving . . . Megatron we’ll get in
touch with you. I promise. Starath, it was great meeting you. Don’t worry
about showing us out of your house, we know the way.” She smiled. “Tell
Sapph that we’re planning to visit South Africa on our honey-moon.”
And
they were gone, without a second glance. Megatron told the two Predacons to
get going; whatever the issue was, it could wait. Once they were gone, he
looked down at the human. “Everything seems to happen when you and I get
together, Starath, yes.”
Take
back the pain I would

She
smiled, and said, “But isn’t it always for the better? I mean, think about
it. You met Sinead, and Dinobot, by the way he’s acting, has forgiven you. I
have to get back for dinner. I’ll see you as soon as I can.”
Megatron
lifted the small human up to carry her back to the mirror, but she threw her
arms around his neck, sighing in bliss. He half-smiled once at her back, then
set her down near the mirror. “Get home. I have something to take care of
now.”
She
smiled, and walked through the mirror.
Megatron
called in the two Predacons. “Now, what did you need to tell me so badly,
yes.”
If
I could stand up and take all the blame I would
If
I could take all the shame to the grave I would
“Rampage
ripped Tarantulus to shreds again!”
“Oh, slag.”
