After Earth

 Part 1

Note from the Authoress: I wrote this story years ago.  When I wrote it, it was my first fan fic.  I was young and eager and immature in my writing.  Unfortunately, this fic also became the starting fic of a series which gets better and better as it goes along but, as far as a first impression goes, this fic doesn't do the series as a whole to this much justice.  I've gone back and done what editing I could, but I want to you to try and look past the mistakes and corny lines because I really would love you to get to the better fics after this one.  Still, it isn't terrible and hopefully with this note in mind, you'll be able to enjoy it with the knowledge that things will only improve.  Thank you for taking the time to read my series and I hope you enjoy it.

The computer hummed, beeped and displayed the readings Rhinox wanted to see.  A slow smile spread across his face before he erupted with joy.

"We've done it!  We've finally done it!" Rhinox cried.

"We are going home!"  he confirmed and the hushed silence grew into a big cheer.  The Maximals had been waiting for this for a very long time.

They'd been stranded on this planet, Earth, fighting the Predacons for a good part of their stay.  Now, that was all going to end and they were going to return to their home lives.  Some had never been to Cybertron; they had been born on Earth and were pretty clueless as to what secrets the new planet would hold.  All they knew was that after many wars between Maximals and Predacons on Cybertron, peace had finally settled.

Optimus would have cried with joy, if he had eyes instead of optics, but his happiness was clearly present.

Above all the wild cheers a voice could be heard. It was Rattrap’s.

"When dis rat gets back home, he's gonna party all year!"

What had actually happened was that Rhinox had used some equipment he had and some equipment he had stolen from the Predacon base and had put the two together and had virtually phoned Cybertron.  They were coming to pick them up.    Of course they'd have to wait two weeks, but it was nothing compared to what they'd been through.   After the great breakthrough, things went on as normal.

They had to; the Predacons could not know about this.

Cheetor stepped out happily the next day; he was chosen to scout the area which was a job he usually hated, but since he was in such a good mood, he really didn't care.  It was a hot day, despite it being overcast and threatening rain.  A gentle yet tugging wind whipped through the open landscape.

It was teasing him, telling him that it was going to bring down heavy rain and that there was nothing he could do to stop it.

After an hour or so Cheetor's mood had changed.  The clouds were darker now and the wind aggressive.  He was tense and on the alert.

He was far from base and if it did rain, he'd have to walk through it.  It hadn't rained in a very long time and the landscape was barren with just a few dusty, dry rocks. Then there was a loud rumble.

"Just my luck!"  he said, then it began to spit down rain.  Light, cold droplets flew down at an angle.

"Oh well, I am going to miss this planet and its strange yet beautiful landscape, but I won't miss this rain!" he thought

He took one last look around and darted back.

There was a terrible storm that night.  Most couldn't relax and were tense.  There was something about an African thunderstorm that made them feel uneasy.  It had raw beauty and was something to be marvelled over. It would bring life, the rain would soak the ground and tiny little shoots would pop up and sometimes grow into fields and fields of beautiful little flowers.  In other parts a nice green, fresh long grass would grow and the animals would become more abundant.

It was truly amazing.

A week and a half later Dinobot stepped outside and had a look at the base.  It was just grey and boring with a few lights speckled across it.

Then something caught his eye.  He moved closer to the green thing that had fixed itself onto the metal Axalon.  He realized what it was and grinned.

It was a plant, a form of algae.  Plants were growing on it!  That would be something to show the bots on Cybertron.  He carried on walking, it wasn't his turn to scout but he just felt like taking a sort of last look at the beautiful planet.  The pick up ship was early and was due to arrive tomorrow night.  He felt excited but also a little nervous.  He had been away so long and when he left, he left as a Predacon criminal.  Optimus had promised him that when they got back to Cybertron, he would tell the Maximal Elders of all the help Dinobot had offered the Maximals and he told him that he would not let Dinobot be sent to prison.  Dinobot was reluctant at first and he almost decided to stay on Earth, but he thought better of it and decided to gamble on returning home.

The next day Optimus called a meeting.  He felt that he had to remind his fellow Maximals that the trip would be long and that they had to try not to get on each other’s nerves.

"Maximals, I know you are all pretty excited about going back home, I am too.  It has been a long time since we last flew in space, there are a few things we need to be reminded of.  The trip is from one and a half to two weeks long, so you are going to have to try to get along.  I have posted up on the notice board a set of important rules to obey when in space.  I know some already know these rules but others don't, I suggest you all

have a look.  Another thing is that Tigatron and Airazor have decided to stay on Earth. I suggest that if you want to say any major good byes, say them now."

"We are all going to miss you two, " he added.   "I wish you the best of luck and I hope you fare well on this strange but beautiful planet."

"We will, thank you for all your kindness and you friendship, we will not forget," said Tigatron

"Hey, come visit sometime and I'll show you my place.  It's really great!" said Rattrap, trying to lighten up the rather sad situation.

"Perhaps we will," said Airazor.  "Maybe."

Then the two lovers waved goodbye and left the ship for good.

That night all the Maximals went outside and waited.  Two ships were arriving.  One was going to take them home, the other was going to take the Predacons home, the difference being, though, that the Predacons would be prisoners.  Megatron had no idea what was coming his way.

Some held their breath in anticipation, others laughed and talked nervously.  It was around ten o'clock and the ship had not yet arrived.

Then, a distant green kind of glow appeared in the sky.  It gradually grew bigger and bigger until they could see it was the ship. The ship they had been waiting for so long.  There was a nervous sigh of relief and a few cheered.  Then the ship drew near and they could see it was heavily armed and was pretty large, bigger than their base and it had lots of green lights on it.  It was eerily beautiful.

It landed.  They all waited, holding their breath once more.

Nothing.

The lights went off and no one came out, immediately.  Suddenly the door opened and a ramp slid down and at the top stood a transformer.

"Welcome aboard!" it said

The Maximals looked at each other, then looked at the ship.  Optimus stepped forward and motioned them to come.  They went onboard, and the trip began.

The ship itself was actually quite similar to the Axalon, which it was towing behind it.  The accommodation was nice enough though they had to share rooms, two in a room.  Poor Eaglelite, a new member who had emerged from a pod a few months back, was the only female there, and she put up a huge fight as to where she was going to sleep.  There were separate beds in the rooms so some didn't know what she was worried about.

"I am not sharing a room with someone who snores!"  she said

"Guess you're out of the question," she sneered, pointing to Dinobot.

"Thank goodness, I bet you snore too!"  he added.

She gave him a cold stare.

Eventually they came to the conclusion that she'd share a room with Cheetor.  He was a nice guy, didn't snore and was just a friend anyway.

The food was the best part of the whole ship.  They hadn't actually had any food as such, only Energon.  Their food was mainly kinds of fuels and oils but to them it tasted good.

Another good thing was that there were computer games beyond Cheetor’s wildest dreams which kept him and not to mention Rattrap busy.

The pilot's daughter loved computer games and was Cheetor’s age.  They became friends quickly as Cheetor had finally found someone besides Rattrap that he could talk to about Computer games.  Her name was Alsaray.

The captain was a friendly guy called Quickflight, which fitted him perfectly.

Dinobot shared a room with Optimus so he couldn't fight with Rattrap.  Those two were always having verbal fights and said to everyone that they hated each other and that's why they fought.  The truth was that they both rather enjoyed fighting.

After a month on the ship though, things started getting a little well, cluttered.

It was terrible for Rhinox as he could do no real research up in the ship and Optimus could not find anything to do with himself.  It dawned upon him that he was no longer the leader of the group as most had decided to go their own ways when they got back.  He was going to miss them.

Dinobot also found it difficult for he was someone who liked his space and liked to wonder off to start a fight with someone.  He was just like that, a warrior.

Eaglelite started playing computer games when she found there was nothing else to do.

Cheetor and Rattrap were doing all right, although Rattrap wouldn't stop going on about these bars he knew of and the delightful femmes that were waiting for him.  Dinobot found this highly annoying.

Finally the day came when the ship was due to land.  Optimus called his group up for a final meeting.

"Maximals, believe me, it has been an honor to work with you all.  This experience has been stressful, frightening, crazy and yet enjoyable.  Thank you

all for sticking by me the whole way.  I wish you the best of luck in your new lives."

The group smiled and said their thank-yous and goodbyes.

"Hey Optimus!" said Rattrap.  "Do me a favour, get a social life!  You need to have a little fun ya know!"

"I'll try Rattrap, I'll try."

"Oh and thanks banana bot, for all ya've done, I really appreciate it."

The ship landed with a thud.  All the Maximals slowly got up and headed for the exit, an entrance to a new world for some, home for others. They left the ship and were greeted by quite a few robots, mainly family.

"Dad!" screamed Cheetor and he ran down to meet his father.

"Sithran!" yelled Rhinox and he went down to meet his friend.

They all went down to meet their various relatives and friends.  Even Dinobot had a few friends turn up.  Optimus reported the the Maximal High Council of his joining the side of the Maximals, and Dinobot was granted amnesty and given Maximal citizenship, which he accepted, albeit a little grudgingly.

It was a joyous occasion for all and a little sad too.  They had a lot of catching up to do.

16 years later.

Rattrap walked into his favourite bar and sat in his favourite seat and drank his favourite drink.  He'd been going here for years.  He knew almost everyone in the place and if a new face did appear he'd be sure to make friends or enemies quickly.  He now had a job as a photographer for International News on Cybertron. It still involved travelling, which is maybe why he took it. That evening, Rattrap was particularly tired.  When he was gone traveling, he usually wasn't gone long and that is how he kept up to tabs on who was who in the bar.  He was particularly tired tonight as he'd just arrived from another travel expedition, but he'd been away much longer this time.

"Yo, Sky Strong!  The usual," he yelled to the Bar tender who he knew well now.

His favourite drink was a kind of oil mixed in with a sort of plant that was grown in a place called Railkston.  It wasn't good for him, but it wasn't bad.

He sat there then noticed a huge guy next to him.  He looked up and gasped in surprise when he saw who it was.

"Lizard Lips!" he cried.

Dinobot heard this and got a tremendous feeling of surprise.  He remembered that pet name someone had called him once.  Rattrap!

He immediately knew to look down as Rattrap was much smaller that him.  He returned the favour and cried "Vermin!"

"It's really you!  I haven't seen you in er, 15, no 16 years!  Whoa!" exclaimed Rattrap.

"You haven't grown much!" said Dinobot, grinning.

"And you are still as ugly as I remember you!"  Rattrap said back.

Then he added "What have you been doing all dese years!?"

"I have been teaching young warriors to fight.  I had to do something to do with fighting,"  he hissed

""I shoulda known!"  remarked Rattrap.

"And you?  What have you been doing rat?"  he questioned.

"I am a photographer for International News.  It involves traveling, that's why I took the job."

"Hm!"  he said smiling, containing all nasty comments he wanted to blurt out.

"So uh, ya married?  Got any kids?" he asked very interested to see if his rough friend had gone a little soft.

"Yes, a wife and three kids, two boys and one girl."  he announced.

Rattrap couldn't believe his ears.

"What?  Really? I never woulda thought, you of all people!"  he exclaimed

Dinobot grinned wryly.

"Well you have obviously grown more gullible if you believed that!" he hissed

Rattrap’s expression changed into a frown.

"Nope, ya haven't change a bit!" he said coldly.  "I can't believe I fell for that."

Dinobot couldn't help it.  He burst out laughing, which he rarely did.

Rattrap had in fact never seen him laugh and that made him feel even worse, but he shrugged it off and saw the funny side of it.

Well, I happen to be single still, though dis Rat has had many, many admirers!" he announced

"Really?" said Dinobot, still recovering from his little outburst of laughter.

"So, what are ya doing on this side of town, I've never seen ya in dis bar before," Rattrap asked.

"Just thought I'd try something new," he replied.

Even though he'd lied about having kids, he'd certainly grown a lot softer and had a little bit of a sense of humour.

"Hey, just for old times sake," Rattrap began, "why don't we catch up on a few stories? I've nuthin' betta ta do."

After Earth

 Part 2

Cheetor sighed as he logged in to Cybertron's form of the Internet.  He was designing computer games you could play on the Cybernet. Games like that were effective because when you logged on, you could log on your mind and leave your body in the real world and let your mind travel through the net.  (A bit like in the film 'The Matrix' although I promise I had that idea before the film came out!)

Cheetor was going to try out his fairly new game on someone on the net. He went to the site cww.hypergames.cy.net  there he would meet an opponent and see if the game was too easy or too difficult and would make improvements on it.  When he got there he found out he had an opponent waiting. He chose his weapons.  The aim of the game was not to shoot each other, it was to shoot a character he'd designed.  The character had to be shot 20 times before it would die. The person who shot it the most times was the winner. Though he/she could also get shot by their target.

Then that person would go onto the next level against a new opponent and so on.  The level 1 setting was a big stadium with lots of special objects for the green and red character to hide behind.  You cold also chose your form and name; you didn't have to look like yourself. Cheetor chose his own form but changed his name to KingCat.  His opponent, he wasn't sure whether it was male or female, chose the Zilaire form and called itself Secret.  This was normal as most didn't want to give away their true forms and identities. Cheetor met his opponent and then they split up to different positions.

The game was on; Cheetor has never lost at his own game.

There was a long pause and then Cheetor caught sight of his target.  To his dismay it had already been shot by his opponent.  He shot wildly at it and out of 10 shots the fast, sneaky character was shot twice.  That was a good result for a first shooting. Then the character disappeared.

Cheetor then heard rapid fire going on somewhere in the stadium.

"Slag!" he thought.  He hoped Secret hadn't go too many shots at it.  A little while later he saw it dive behind an obstacle.  He ran over and shot it four times before being hit.  You don't feel pain on the Cybernet, but if you are hit, your mind form does get injured. Cheetor groaned.  Now his shield had been damaged. The character slipped away. Then he heard more shots and the game froze.

"Game over, winner Secret" said the compute voice.

Then the settings disappeared and he walked up to Secret. "Great!  Beaten at my own game,"  he thought

"Well played," said Secret, now in her true form.  It was a female, which made Cheetor feel worse. Females did fight on Cybertron, though not that often.

"You played well too!" he said, trying to sound cheerful. He would not tell her he had designed the game.

He was very surprised at how good she was.  She had managed 12 shots in 7 minutes.  His other opponents sometimes only got one shot in ten minutes or more. She'd also beaten his time record.  "Wow, you are good, who's your trainer?  You must have a trainer, right?" asked Cheetor hopefully.

"Yes, I have a good trainer, his name's Dinobot," she said with a knowing smile

"Dinobot!?"  he exclaimed

"I used to know that guy!  We fought against Megatron on Earth together."

"I should have known he would be a warrior trainer,"  he added.  "Did he tell you about us all being stranded on Earth?"  he questioned.

"Yes, he did.  What a coincidence that I would bump into one of his old team mates!" she said.

"How is he?"  asked Cheetor

"Fine, just fine.  Sorry I can't talk long, I have to go now.  It is a pity I can't play level two of this game.  I will come back another time.  Nice talking to ya!" said the young trainee and then she logged off.

Optimus sat at home after a long day's work.  He was a scout for Cybertron and would every week, scout the area around the planet for any new changes.  It was a tiring and sometimes rather boring job.  He switched on the International News on Cybertron.  He watched for a while and was just about to turn it off when he heard the name 'Rhinox' being mentioned.  The news reporter said:

"The Cyberspace High Commander scientist Rhinox Thrykhan has said to have made an important discovery.  He has been studying organisms in space and organisms he found on the planet Earth for years.  The scientist has discovered an incredible healing oil for robots with serious injuries.

The scientist has put together a kind of rock found on one the third moon flaseotrek and has mixed it with a kind of herbal plant.  The mixture is said to speed up internal repairs by 50% when a CR Chamber is nowhere near.  The mixture is to be tested further before being put on the market."

"By the Matrix!" exclaimed Optimus

"Rhinox!  I haven't heard from you in years!  It's great to see that you got the position you always dreamed of."

The new reporter continued.

"The mixture, not yet named, will be on display at the Science Dome from this time next week.  The scientist will be there to answer questions."

"Well, I am going to be there, definitely,” thought Optimus.

Rattrap had been talking for an hour with Dinobot, which was a record, though he did most of the talking.

Rattrap was tired and decided to end off the conversation by adding:

"So, Chopperface, you going to the science festival?  I sure ain't gonna miss it.  I'm no science freak but some of the stuff there, is really cool.  Ya coming?"

"Perhaps, now I must take my leave."

"Me too, bye ya Lizard Lips!" Rattrap said as he watched Dinobot stand and leave.

Eaglelite stared at her filthy son.

"Trust you to be the dirtiest out of the whole lot!"  she said as her son departed from his school friends.

"How on Cybertron did you get so dirty?" she asked.

"Mom...." moaned the youngster

"Don't mom me!  I want to know?"

The truth was that he and his friends after school had been going to the training arena to watch young warriors train,  Sivolon had always wanted to be a warrior, as did his friends.

His mother would never let him be a warrior in a million years.  She said he had to do more constructive things in his life.

Sometimes, the trainer would let him play on the other training course, when it wasn't in use and that is how he got so dirty, but he couldn't tell his mom that!

"I fell at Silvermoon's place, it was very muddy,” he said.

He was very good at looking innocent.

"Mom, I'm a kid, give me a break, I do get dirty occasionally!"

Then he added, "Dad never minded!"

"Well, I am sorry Sivolon but Dad is dead and I am not like him.  I will let you off just one last

time.  Now go clean yourself up," she said.

She couldn't really get mad at her son.  He was always so sweet and well mannered and she was proud

of him.

He was an only child so he spent much of his time with his friends.

He had always wanted to be strong and quick and powerful like the trainer.

He secretly worshipped Dinobot.

Cheetor walked down the street humming to himself.

It was his day off and he decided to go the training centre to say hi to an old friend.

On his way in, he bumped into Secret, for he did not know her real name.

"Hi KingCat!" she said

"Hi uh, Secret, my real name is Cheetor.

"Figures, mine is Diamond, I know it is a weird name, my mother named me that!" she said.

"Not weird, different,"  he replied

"Hey is Dinobot here? "

"Yeah, he is, in fact I am about to start my training, wanna watch?"

"Sure!" he said

Cheetor didn't see Dinobot but he did see his impact on the youngsters.

They were very strong and alert.

Diamond was the only girl fighter he could see and she was very good.

Maybe better than him.

She moved quickly around the course, firing at pop up models with real guns.

She must have been at the top of the trainees because she was fighting on a dangerous level.  The pop up models were fast and fired fast but she never got hit once.  Afterwards though, she was pretty breathless.

Cheetor was inspired to try see if he still had his fighting skills.

"Hey, wanna challenge me?" he yelled from the stands.

She looked up.

"If your looking for a tough challenge then come on down.  The weapons are in that cupboard to the right of you."

Cheetor took out a gun and a shield and waited for her to catch her breath.

"Are you sure you wanna do this?  I'm not an easy one to take down," she said

"Neither am I!" he said and the fight was on.

Cheetor dived behind an obstacle and lifted his head to catch sight of her.

He did and fired.

And missed.

His obstacle was blown to bits and he ran shooting and dived behind another and waited.

He then stood but nothing fired.

He aimed for the obstacle he'd seen her last and blew it up.

She wasn't there.

The he was hit from behind and fell, tumbling to the other side of the rock obstacle.

He quickly lifted himself up and began firing.

He heard a yell of pain.

Then there was silence.

The other trainees watched in awe from the stands.

No one ever challenged Diamond; she was too powerful.

Cheetor didn't know that.

He leopard crawled over to an obstacle nearer to her.

Bullets flew over his head and he shot back.

A stray bullet hit him and he was thrown two metres from his position.

He got up and shot at the obstacle she fired from.

She quickly dodged his bullets and disappeared behind a large pile.

Cheetor didn't fire.

He snuck to a new position and waited for the right moment.

Then he felt a blow to his back and he was flung forward and took a face full of dirt.

He moaned and rolled onto his back.

"Enough!  Enough!  You win!!  he cried.

Then he felt a shadow come over him.

He opened his eyes and saw Dinobot towering over him, smiling.

"Dinobot!" he cried weakly, he was exhausted and hurt all over.

"Cheetor you fool.  What made you think you could beat a trainnee?" he asked

Cheetor rose from his position and stared at Dinobot.

Beside Dinobot stood Diamond.

"I don't know, I thought I still had my skills!"  "She's very good!

You trained her well.  Gee, it's nice to see you again Dinobot!" said Cheetor happily.

Dinobot just smiled.

"What brings you here?" he asked.

Cheetor paused.

"I met Diamond at the hypergame site and she beat me.

I asked her who trained her and she told me you did, so I dropped in to say hi," he explained.

"Hmmmmmmm.  What do you do for a living Cheetor?"

Cheetor had hoped he wouldn't ask that, but he told him anyway.

"I design Computer strategy games for the Cybernet.  Diamond beat me at my own game!"

Diamond giggled.

"You designed the game?  Well it's really good,” she said, trying not to make Cheetor feel bad.

"Thanks," he mumbled.

Dinobot looked at the time.

"I'd like to talk, but I'm afraid I have training sessions to attend to.

Come again and Cheetor, next time you feel like having a fight, don't fight my daughter.  She

is too good for you."

Then he turned and walked off.

"Daughter!?" he exclaimed.

Diamond stared down at him.

"I told you I knew him well,” she said.

"See ya around, Cheetor."

Then she too walked off, leaving Cheetor amazed.

Rhinox helped load on some of the equipment for the science fair onto the hovercraft.

He was a little nervous but excited too.

He had discovered something remarkable and now he was going to show his

people what it was.

The festival would go on for two days only.

He wasn't holding the new oil he had produced, that was taken care of by top

security.

He arrived at the Science Dome and helped set up the table and equipment.

It was going to be a long day.

The next day was the day of the Science Festival.

Cheetor had visited Diamond again and she had told him of the festival and that Dinobot said that Rhinox would be there.

Cheetor wanted to go see his old friend so he decided to go.

Besides, he needed to know what was changing in technology and use that in his games.

Optimus too was coming and so was Rattrap.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Finally Optimus arrived at the Science Festival.

He was startled at how many things were on display.

He walked around a bit and looked at the marvelous inventions.

Always keeping a look out for Rhinox.

Then when the place was full of people a voice came over the intercom.

"Anyone interested in seeing the healing mixture by Rhinox Thrykhan please go to the top left hand corner of the dome.

Many people turned and went that way.

Optimus did too.

After a lot of walking and squeezing past he finally made it to where Rhinox was about to start his speech.

Rhinox began explaining the wonderful mixture and the magic it could do.

Optimus was amazed at how quickly it worked.

Rhinox tried it on an injured maximal and showed how to insert it into the wound.

It was truly extraordinary.

After the speech Optimus pushed and shoved and came up behind the swamped Rhinox.

News reporters and photographers were all around him.

He couldn't catch his attention by yelling his name as so many others were doing so.

But Rhinox looked up and towards someone who called him something else.

"Hey!  Big butt!"

Rhinox turned and saw Rattrap.

"Rattrap!" he cried and then caught sight of Optimus

"Optimus Primal!" he said and moved over to them.

"Come with me!  We must talk away from these reporters!" he yelled at the top of his voice.

Then he motioned the two to a door.

The two pushed inside and Rhinox closed the door, the room was much quieter.

"Oh!  How good it is to see you!  Did you come together?" asked Rhinox

"No!  We didn't!  Hello Rhinox, hello Rattrap!"  said Optimus

"Yo Big Banana!"

Then the three got talking.

They didn't talk long when Rhinox was called by a security guard.

"Sir, someone by the name of Cheetor is here to see you."

"Let him in!  Oh what a surprise!"

Cheetor stepped in with a friend.

"Big Bot! Rhinox!  Rattrap!  You're all here!  Whoa!  Talk about a coincidence!"

The Maximals stood and chatted excitedly to each other.

"Who's the girl?" asked Rhinox

"Her name is Diamond, she's Dinobot's daughter."

"Hi," she said, a little shyly.

"You are joking right?  Old Chopperface lied again!" exclaimed Rattrap.

"Hello Rattrap, dad spoke a lot about you," she said smiling wryly.

"He did, did he?"  he asked suspiciously.

"Dinobot has a daughter!  My oh my how we've all changed!

"Who else here has kids?" asked Optimus.

No one had any.

"I would never have guessed that out of the whole group, Dinobot would be the only one to have kids!" said Optimus

"A kid," she corrected him

"Yeah, unless Eagle lady has some," added Rattrap.

"I wonder how she is?" muttered Cheetor.

"Hey, is Dinobot here?" asked Rhinox

"Yes, dad's at the back of the Dome marveling at some new weapon," said Diamond.

"Dad!" laughed Rattrap!

"I would never have dought! I never woulda dought!" he exclaimed.

Rhinox sent a guard to go find Dinobot so he could say hello.

"Lizard Lips is gonna dink he's being arrested or somethin!"  Rattrap mused.

"I hope not!"  chuckled Optimus.

The group talked and talked when in came Dinobot.

"Chopperface, a daddy!  I can't believe it!" cried Rattrap

"Hello Vermin," sighed Dinobot

"Hi Dinobot!  Nice to see you again,"  Rhinox said.

And then the whole group bombarded him with questions.

They talked for an hour or two until it was time for them to split up.

They all found out where each one lived and worked, except Dinobot refused to say where he lived, but the others at least knew they could stay in contact.

After Earth

 - Part 3

1 week later:

Eaglelite hid behind a lamppost and watched her son come out of school.

He always walked home but she decided to see what he really got up to behind her back.

She watched him and his two friends take a right turn down a road and head towards a building.

She followed him all the way to his destination.

She saw him enter the War Training Centre and knew exactly why.

She went in too, but kept her distance from them.

She watched him sit on the stands next to an older girl, about 15 or so.

She seemed friendly with the trio and they talked happily together.

The girl reminded her of someone, she just wasn't sure whom.

Then something else caught her eye.

Standing in the ring was Dinobot, showing a trainee how to use a sword properly.

She couldn’t believe it.

She hadn't seen him in years.

It had been about 16 years now and she remembered clearly.

They had been stranded on Earth with the Maximals and she knew him from there.

She had always been nasty to him from the start, it was probably because she used to have a huge crush on him.

Now she saw him again and she couldn't contain herself.

"Dinobot!  Hey Dinobot!  Over here!" she yelled

Dinobot looked up and squinted

"It can't be!  My bitter old female companion," he said

She came over to him.

"My son has been sneaking off after school everyday to watch you train and he always came home filthy.

I never knew why so today I followed him and found him here!  I have told him he is not to come near this place but he never listens!"

"He is that little one there next to that girl.  His name is Sivolon.  You are responsible for letting him play on

these courses without asking his mothers permission, which happens to be me!!" she hissed

"I'm glad to see you too,” he snorted.

She paused for a moment.

"Who's that girls he's with?"

"My daughter. Why, does that bother you?"

"YOUR DAUGHTER?"  she exclaimed.

"You married!?"

"No, I found her on my outside my house when she was very young.  She was lost and had no knowledge of where her parents were.  All she had was her name, Diamond.  I pitied her and decided to take of her for a while.  I ended up adopting her," he said matter of factly

"Really?  But she looks a bit like you, poor child!"

"I honestly don't think so,” he said shooting a glance at Diamond.

"Well, if you are that worried, take your son home," he added

"Slag,"  she thought.  "I still have a crush on him!"

Sivolon looked down at the arena in horror.

"Mom!" he whispered.

His friends looked at him.

"Oh man, now you're gonna get it," said Flash

"And I don't wanna be around when you do!  Lets go Flash, good luck Sivolon!" cried Silvermoon and the two headed off.

"Uh oh," he mumbled.

"That's your mom?" asked Diamond.

"Yeah, my assassin too!"

His mother was talking to his hero and then she shot him a cold look.

"She looks as if she's giving dad a mouthful too,” noted Diamond

"Oh boy," thought Sivolon

Eagleite gave Dinobot one last look then said:

"If he comes here again, you phone me," she gave him her phone number and

walked off.

"Sivolon....you've got a LOT of explaining to do!" she yelled.

That night Optimus called Tigatron and Airazor.

He waited and waited.

He thought that no one was there.

He'd given Tigatron the communicator but hadn't heard from him in years.

Probably because neither Tigatron nor Airazor knew how to work it.

Then he got an answer.

"Hello?" asked the voice.

"Hello, is that Tigatron?" asked Optimus

"No, but I'll get dad for you," said the boy.

Optimus wasn't surprised.

He knew Tigatron and Airazor had been in love a long time.

"Hello?" asked Tigatron

"Hello Tigatron, it's Optimus here," he said smiling

"Optimus!" exclaimed Tigatron laughing.

"How good it is to hear your voice!"

"Yours too," said Optimus

The two proceeded to talk about their lives and ask each other questions.

Optimus finally put the phone down; feeling satisfied that he'd got in contact

with an old friend, though he couldn't imagine the phone bill.

It turned out that Tigatron was living in a nice forest up north and he and Airazor had twins, a boy and a girl.

The twins were eager to come see Cybertron so Optimus agreed he'd come and collect them and bring them to Cybertron to study for a few years.

He knew it would be hard for Airazor and Tigatron to depart from their children, but their future was on Cybertron, not in the jungle.

He'd agreed to take good care of them.

Then he sort of frowned and smiled at the same time.

"Looks like I'm adopting a couple of teenagers!  Just what I need."

He sat down and sighed.

At least he wouldn't be so lonely in the house.

3 weeks later

Rattrap logged onto the Cybernet.

He went to cww.hypergames.cy.net

He went into a game.

He waited.

Then he caught sight of Cheetor.

"Lets try this game a yours!"  he said

Rattrap remained in his normal mode and took some weapons.

He knew how the game worked and took a position behind an obstacle and waited for the green guy.

Then he lurched out and shot wildly at the green thing, but missed except for one lousy shot.

"This," he thought "is gonna be tough."

The game lasted an hour and the end result was a tie, meaning both would go to level two.

But Rattrap was tired and went to Cheetor to say goodbye.

"Hey, kitty, that's a pretty nice game ya got there, just a bit on da tiring side!"

Said an exhausted Rattrap.

"That's probably because we were on the highest level of difficulty," said Cheetor, grinning.

"See ya Rattrap."

"See ya spots!"

And then the two left the Cybernet.

Eaglelite came home early from work that day.

She'd been thinking about something.

Her dead husband.

He'd gone off on a war training session three years ago and died when there

was a accident and a bomb went off to soon.  That was why she didn't like

the idea of letting her son train to be a warrior.

"Silly really," she thought.

There was good money for being a soldier on Cybertron.

The Government supported you if you swore to protect your planet at all costs.

Titan was a nice fellow, she liked him a lot, but she was never sure she actually loved him.

He was away from home so often and rarely had time for them.

She knew Sivolon had loved him and was devastated when he lost him.

He needed a father, and she knew it.

Then she remembered Dinobot.

She'd actually almost fallen in love with him at first sight, though the poor guy had no clue

she loved him by the way she always treated him.  It was mainly frustration.

She was frustrated that she liked him and he hadn't the foggiest idea and would probably

never like her.  She sighed and wondered about possibilities.  Anything was possible.....

Just then a clean, shiny son walked in.

She gazed at Sivolon and smiled.

"Sivolon, why don't you and I go to the Training Centre and watch Dinobot."
